An unmarried young man, but with a child.
How was he supposed to take good care of this child?
Lu Bian fell into deep thought.
The first thing that came to mind was a "Yan Kingdom Resident's Daily Balanced Nutrition Guide." The guide turned the principles of a balanced diet into a graphic representation of the quantities and proportions of different kinds of food. Back in the hometown he could never return to, it had offered adults recommended daily intake ranges for various foods.
Chenxiang was still growing, and he would certainly need plenty of nutrients.
An inexplicable sense of responsibility made Lu Bian consider Chenxiang's needs from every angle.
What Chenxiang ate and drank, his education, and everything else were all on Lu Bian's mind.
"Big Brother Edward, and Bruce, you've both surely got experience raising kids, right? I'll ask them."
Lu Bian decided to ask his fellow Chat Group members for help. The two old men promptly shared a wealth of child-rearing experience with him...
Whitebeard and Bruce's advice gave Lu Bian a little more confidence.
He'd take it one step at a time!
Besides, how bad could things get?
Chenxiang was a good child. His mother, the Third Holy Mother Yang Chan, had raised him very well. As long as Lu Bian didn't let him go astray, he would remain a good child.
Lu Bian took Chenxiang to Dali City. After leading the donkey around the city with its bells clanging, he left and took Chenxiang to a nearby village, where he bought a vacant plot of land beside a mountain.
"Uncle, are we going to live here from now on?" Chenxiang climbed down from the donkey and watched as Lu Bian unloaded his belongings.
"Are we going to build a house ourselves?"
Looking at the bare plot of land, Chenxiang asked Lu Bian.
"Right, but I'll be the one building it. You don't need to help," Lu Bian replied.
Leaving the donkey to keep Chenxiang company, Lu Bian went into the mountains to gather lumber and stone for the house.
"Magnetic Rotation: Twenty Heavens!! Civil Engineering Technique!"
A century-old tree toppled at his command, and rocks that had slept beneath the mountain rose to the surface. The invisible power of the magnetic field shaped the trees and stones into building materials. They soared through the air before descending in a neat pile on the empty plot.
Lu Bian had gathered all the materials he needed after just a short trip into the mountains.
"Rise."
Standing in front of the plot, Lu Bian lifted a hand. The earth shifted, and the stone and timber moved with it. In the blink of an eye, a house stood before them.
Lu Bian laid a foundation to secure the building, paved the floors with stone, and used timber to construct the frame. The house's overall style was completely unlike anything from that era. For a moment, Lu Bian felt as though he had returned to modern times.
"Wow..."
Little Chenxiang gaped in amazement as Lu Bian waved his hand and built a two-story house.
Lu Bian led the donkey into the stable, then called Chenxiang inside.
There was a hearth on one side of the first floor, where they could build a fire and cook. The local households all had hearths, too. There were several rooms on the second floor, where they would sleep and rest at night.
Next, Lu Bian brought in some tables, chairs, and stools for the first floor, then set up two beds on the second.
Lu Bian had finished building their home in a single day. He even had enough time to leave two boulders by the entrance to the courtyard, ready to carve into stone lions the next day.
"Chenxiang, are you hungry?"
"Mm." Chenxiang nodded.
Lu Bian used [Beggar Skill] on his fellow Chat Group members and obtained the ingredients for dinner.
"?"
Chenxiang watched Lu Bian pick up a few stones. They suddenly turned into things he'd never seen before, and he began to wonder whether he should eat the food Lu Bian made.
"Heh!"
"Chenxiang, you're in for a treat." Lu Bian looked delighted.
Lu Bian made Chenxiang some instant ramen. Firewood burned in the hearth as water heated in a pot, with a few leaves of greens added to cook alongside it. In a frying pan, he cooked a fried egg and a sausage.
The ingredients for tonight's dinner were provided by Kakashi Hatake. The instant ramen had a distinctly Japanese flavor.
"All right, Chenxiang, you can eat now."
A huge bowl with a broad, conical hat-like shape was filled to the brim. The cooked instant noodles smelled delicious, and the combination of greens, a fried egg, and sausage made the bowl incredibly appetizing.
"Uncle, aren't you going to eat?"
"Once you reach my level of power, you don't need to eat," Lu Bian replied.
"Go ahead and enjoy your meal."
"Oh."
The vigorous sound of Chenxiang slurping noodles came from beside the table. Lu Bian watched him enjoy the bowl of noodles he'd made, beaming with delight.
Chenxiang's taste buds were bombarded by industrially produced food from another world. The never-before-experienced flavor left a deep impression on him.
Chenxiang remembered that the meals he'd eaten beside his mother had always been very light. The noodles Lu Bian had made for him, on the other hand, had a strong, rich flavor.
"I almost forgot!"
Lu Bian suddenly remembered that he needed to build a toilet for Chenxiang.
He went outside, found an auspicious spot near the house, and built a toilet at lightning speed. He also paved a stone path leading to it.
After Chenxiang finished eating, Lu Bian showed him the way between the house and the toilet, carefully explaining every detail.
"It feels like playing a management simulator."
"Uncle, what are you talking about?"
"Nothing. Starting tomorrow, I'll teach you martial arts."
"Chenxiang, you must remember that the guiding principles of our cultivation are to exercise well, study hard, play well, and rest properly."
"Okay!!" Chenxiang answered energetically.
"After you wake up in the morning, you'll start with some simple, easy warm-up exercises, then begin your studies. Someone who practices martial arts without training their mind can never become a proper martial artist," Lu Bian told Chenxiang.
"After lunch, it's time for a nap. Once you're done napping, it's time for rigorous training."
"After dinner, you can do whatever you like, but remember to go to bed early and get up early."
"Mm!!" Chenxiang nodded earnestly.
In the mornings, Lu Bian taught Chenxiang math, literature, and philosophy. In the afternoons, he taught him Ultimate Boundless Qigong and his Dog Beating Technique. At night, Lu Bian sought guidance from Shi Tianwu on the Dharma Sutra.
Chenxiang wasn't the only one learning. Lu Bian secretly studied behind his back, too.
Only after becoming someone's teacher did he realize just how difficult it was to teach someone well.
Chenxiang was half human and half god, with excellent physical gifts, but his reasoning and comprehension weren't very strong. Lu Bian felt that Chenxiang was cut from the same cloth as himself, and that teaching him would take a great deal of patience and repetition.
After three months, Chenxiang had mastered several animal abilities: an eagle's eyesight, a bat's hearing, and a gecko's ability to climb walls...
Six months later, Chenxiang grasped the power of Electric Current Propulsion.
Lu Bian suppressed his own power to the level of Electric Current Propulsion and sparred with Chenxiang, guiding him in his cultivation of the Perfect Realm.
Three more months passed. Chenxiang had yet to make any further breakthroughs. Instead, it was Lu Bian himself whose Magnetic Rotation reached the Twenty-Fifth Heaven.
No star representing his fate appeared in the night sky.
