Wang Yan served as the assessment teacher for Zone 33 during Shrek Academy’s freshman assessment. He introduced himself as the official responsible for six teams over the following two days, enforced the match rules, and warned students against making their fights excessively intense. His amiable manner concealed a stern, “smiling tiger” approach to discipline. 17

After observing Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong, and Xiao Xiao’s early victories, Wang Yan recognized Huo Yuhao as the core of their team and became curious about his unrevealed second soul skill. Following their five-match perfect record, he personally encouraged Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong, praising their two-ring cultivation and rare thousand-year second soul rings. 18

When Huo Yuhao revealed the Titan Snow Demon martial soul during the freshman assessment’s elimination phase, Wang Yan was shocked that Mu Jin had apparently not known her student possessed multiple martial souls.
