Background / History

During the Immortal Ancient Era, the Willow Deity was an Immortal King who fought across the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths and entered the Foreign Realm alone. During a vulnerable moment in her nirvana, enemies severed her Dharma body and destroyed her foundation, forcing her into a near-dead state in the Lower Realm. The Immortal Hall later acknowledged that it had participated in besieging her and invoked the Nine Heavens lightning tribulation against her. 98 166

Her remnant soul took root at Stone Village as a charred, lightning-struck willow tree with a single green branch. There she became the village’s Sacrificial Spirit, sheltering its inhabitants and watching over Shi Hao. 49 90

Jiang Chen recognized her as an Immortal King-era figure and invited her to join the Primordial Immortal Court in preparation for the coming turmoil beyond the Boundary Sea. The Willow Deity ultimately accepted his support for her recovery. 53

The Primordial Immortal Lord, Primordial Immortal Ancestor, and Li Changsheng later restored her through the Creation Immortal Pool, using Longevity Herbs, divine artifacts, and their own laws. 274 277 After regaining her Immortal King status, she returned with Jiang Chen to the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths, where she discovered that many of the races that had once followed her had been cursed. 292
