Background / History

Xiao Wu lived in the Star Dou Great Forest under the protection of Daming, the Azure Bull Python, and Erming, the Titan Giant Ape. Although they warned that the human world was dangerous for a soul beast in human form, Xiao Wu believed she could conceal her identity by suppressing her spirit power. 2

A gold-embossed diary exposed a future in which Tang San deceives her, she is forced into a soul sacrifice without reincarnation, and Daming and Erming are hunted and turned into Tang San's spirit rings and spirit bones. Convinced by the diary's knowledge of Daming and Erming, she resolves not to meet Tang San and rushes to Notting Academy to find Su Hang, believing he can change their fate. 2

Upon arriving at Dorm Seven, Xiao Wu witnesses Su Hang's thousand-year first spirit ring and dragon-like pressure. Seeing him as strong enough to protect her and her forest family, she immediately attaches herself to him for survival. 3

During the Soul Hunting Forest expedition, she openly refuses Yu Xiaogang's request to help Tang San fight the Mandala Snake. Su Hang's reminder that she owes Tang San neither her life nor a sacrifice reinforces her choice; Xiao Wu takes Su Hang's hand and pledges to help only him. 14

When Tang Hao probes the academy courtyard and senses her soul beast essence, Su Hang's Dragon Might blocks the detection. Xiao Wu chooses to stand beside Su Hang rather than hide, despite fearing capture and conversion into a spirit ring. 19

She later travels west with Su Hang and Ning Rongrong, using her sense of smell to assist their rescue effort for Zhu Zhuqing along the old Hunting Path. 40 43
