Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan.
Among the Upper Three Sects, the Clear Sky Sect might be arrogant, but at least it knew when to bow its head.
Though there was only Tang Wei, at least he had shown the proper attitude this time.
The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect needed no mention. It had long since chosen a side. Even if it had not, an auxiliary sect could not stir up much trouble.
Only the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan was different. Its strength was not the greatest, yet it carried itself with more airs than anyone else, as if it were truly formidable.
Yu Yuanzhen was, after all, a level ninety-five Titled Douluo who called himself the possessor of the world's strongest dragon Martial Soul.
He was simply a joke, and with no worthy successor either!
A cold smile curled at Ye Xunfeng's lips.
Since the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan would not discipline its son, Ye Xunfeng would do it for them.
Two days later.
Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, council hall.
"Bang!"
Yu Yuanzhen slammed his palm onto the table. The fine ironwood table instantly split with several deep cracks, and the teacups bounced up before smashing onto the floor, shards scattering everywhere.
"Nonsense! It's all nonsense!"
He clenched the declaration of war sent by Spirit Hall in one hand and a thick stack of so-called "evidence" in the other. His face was livid, and the veins at his temples throbbed violently.
Several elders seated in the hall exchanged looks, but no one dared speak first.
"Luring the daughter of a Spirit Hall elder? Stealing confidential information?" Yu Yuanzhen viciously hurled the stack of papers onto the table, his voice making even the roof beams tremble. "This is slander! Spirit Hall has gone too far!"
"Big Brother, don't rush to curse them." Yu Luomian, seated below him, raised his head with an ugly expression. "What's written here may not all be false."
Yu Yuanzhen abruptly turned to glare at him, as though he wanted to devour him alive. "What do you mean?"
Yu Luomian did not retreat. He merely opened the so-called evidence and pointed to one page. "Big Brother, look for yourself. It records the times Xiao Gang borrowed forbidden books from the Spirit Hall library. It even clearly states how many sheets of paper he bought in Spirit City. If this were fabricated, it could not possibly be so detailed."
Yu Yuanzhen's face went from livid to deathly pale.
He snatched the page away and read it line by line.
The more he read, the more his hands trembled.
He recognized some of the book titles and not others, but just from their names, he could tell they were nothing proper: Legend of the Fart God, Ten-Year Lonely Bamboo Godhood Method, Theory of Martial Soul Mutation Reversal...
What the hell was all this nonsense? Since when had Spirit Hall started collecting such garbage?
Even if Yu Xiaogang had to steal something, could he not have stolen something useful?
"Th-this is impossible..." Yu Yuanzhen's voice began to weaken. "How could Xiao Gang read this kind of thing?"
"Big Brother, there's something even more serious." Yu Luomian's voice sank as he flipped to another page. "Spirit Hall says Xiao Gang lured the daughter of one of their elders and extracted Spirit Hall secrets from her. The girl has already admitted it. She even gave a full account of when and where they met in private."
Yu Yuanzhen swayed, then collapsed back into his chair, his face as gray as ash.
The daughter of an elder might not have meant much. After all, Spirit Hall had so many elders. But if Spirit Hall wanted to make an issue of it, then it was a reason!
The council hall was terrifyingly silent.
The elders looked at one another, their eyes filled with shock and embarrassment.
A direct descendant of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan had gone to Spirit Hall to steal things, deceive a girl, and gotten caught red-handed, only for it all to be made public.
The clan had lost face before the entire continent.
"Men!" Yu Yuanzhen suddenly roared, his voice hoarse beyond recognition. "Go! Bring Yu Xiaogang back to me! Now! Immediately!"
Two disciples accepted the order and ran out.
Watching his elder brother in such a state, Yu Luomian sighed inwardly.
He had long felt that nephew of his was not right in the head. He spent all day buried in books, constantly saying, "I want to study Martial Soul theory," and "I want to make everyone see me in a new light," yet he could not even figure out why he himself was useless.
Someone like that was bound to cause trouble sooner or later.
He simply had not expected the trouble to come so quickly, or to be so great.
Half an hour later, the disciples they had sent out returned.
"S-Sect Master..." The disciple knelt on the ground, his voice trembling. "Yu Xiaogang... he isn't in his room. We searched the entire sect and couldn't find him. Someone said they saw him carrying a bundle down the mountain a long time ago..."
Yu Yuanzhen froze.
Everyone in the council hall froze.
"Good. Good. Very good!" Yu Yuanzhen suddenly laughed, but his laugh looked worse than crying. It echoed through the hall, sending chills through everyone's hearts. "I, Yu Yuanzhen, raised such a fine son! He caused trouble, then ran off without even saying a word! What was he running for? Huh? What was he running for? Had he not shamed himself enough already?"
The final sentence was nearly a roar, shaking dust from the beams overhead.
Yu Luomian rose and walked before Yu Yuanzhen. After a long silence, he finally spoke, his voice calm to the point of coldness. "Big Brother, anger is useless now. What Spirit Hall wants is an explanation, not your rage."
Yu Yuanzhen lifted his head, his eyes bloodshot.
"What are you trying to say?"
"I'm saying," Yu Luomian enunciated each word, "expel Yu Xiaogang from the sect."
The air in the hall instantly froze.
"What did you say?" Yu Yuanzhen's voice seemed squeezed from the depths of his throat.
"I said, expel Yu Xiaogang from the sect." Yu Luomian met his gaze without yielding in the slightest. "The crimes he committed are not something the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan can bear. Luring an elder's daughter and stealing Spirit Hall secrets—either charge alone would give Spirit Hall cause to wage war on us. Big Brother, you are the sect master. If you protect him, you will be burying the entire sect with him."
Yu Yuanzhen's hands shook violently. He wanted to say something, but not a single word came out.
The other elders exchanged glances and lowered their heads, not daring to make a sound.
Yet their silence was itself a declaration. No one was willing to speak for Yu Xiaogang.
Yu Yuanzhen slumped in his chair, seeming to age ten years in an instant.
The hall remained silent for a very, very long time.
"Spirit Hall has bullied us too far! Hear my order." Yu Yuanzhen's voice was so hoarse it was nearly inaudible, every word seemingly forced through clenched teeth. "Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan disciple Yu Xiaogang has poor conduct and has disgraced the sect..."
He closed his eyes, and two muddy tears rolled down his aged cheeks.
But before he could finish—
"Tsk." Ye Xunfeng's voice suddenly appeared over the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. "Sect Master Yu, what has my Spirit Hall ever done to you?"
Ye Xunfeng's utterly calm voice descended upon the valley like a divine decree, entering everyone's ears.
"Brat Ye! Don't push people too far!" Yu Yuanzhen flew out of the council hall, releasing his Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Martial Soul. Two yellow, two purple, and five black soul rings appeared around him.
Ye Xunfeng sneered and reached into the void, grasping white light in his hand.
