"You're the dignified saintess of Spirit Hall. You grew up eating Spirit Hall's food, wearing Spirit Hall's clothes, learning Spirit Hall's secret techniques, and using Spirit Hall's resources!"
"So what was the first thing you thought of doing once you grew up?"
"Running off with Yu Xiaogang!"
"Oh, right, they plucked you out of a pile of orphans and raised you into a brilliant young Soul Master World prodigy, and this is how you repay them?"
"Got your wings, and now you want to fly away?"
Now, let's talk about Yu Xiaogang!
He called himself some kind of theoretical Grandmaster, yet he was almost fifty and still couldn't break through level thirty. Even the village gate guards would say his legs were too feeble for the job.
And a man like that was treasured by Bibi Dong, who held him in the palm of her hand. With your taste, you might as well pick any dog off the roadside—it'd do a better job than you!
Where did Yu Xiaogang's Soul Master theories come from?
He got them by relying on his connection with Bibi Dong to rummage through Spirit Hall's archives, then cobbling together bits and pieces!
And what was Bibi Dong doing? Clapping beside him and saying, "That's right, my Gangzi is the best!"
Come on, those theoretical achievements were the accumulated work of generations of Spirit Hall members. You just handed them over as a dowry?
Fine, you were love-struck when you were young. But later, you became the pope. Couldn't you get a grip?
And yet our Lady Bibi Dong sat on the pope's throne with her heart still set on her precious Gangzi.
Whatever Yu Xiaogang said went. Whatever Yu Xiaogang wanted, she gave him. Anyone who didn't know better would think she was Yu Xiaogang's little fangirl, not the pope of Spirit Hall.
And here comes the most outrageous part—Tang San!
Right in front of Bibi Dong, Yu Xiaogang thumped his chest and declared that he'd join Tang San in destroying Spirit Hall!
He'd said it that plainly. So what did you do, Bibi Dong?
Nothing! You couldn't even bring yourself to say a harsh word!
Bibi Dong, oh, Bibi Dong. You're the pope of Spirit Hall, not Yu Xiaogang's mother!
They're about to tear your house down, and you're still gazing at him with tender affection?
To put it bluntly, bring in a sow as pope and she'd at least know how to guard her food!
You're not even as good as a pig!
To sum it up: Spirit Hall spent a fortune raising its saintess, who then spent her own money supporting a useless man. That useless man wanted to wreck her livelihood, and she just sat there smiling.
Hand this script to a screenwriter and even they'd say, "Too fake. No human would believe this."
One love-struck fool brought ruin upon all of Spirit Hall. Madam Bibi Dong, you deserve a lifetime achievement award—the Lifetime Love-Struck Idiot Award!
In the Light Screen, the sharp critique appeared naturally alongside what seemed to be an edited video.
Well, the earlier part had been rather restrained, but it seemed to loosen up little by little. At last, it had started tearing into them.
The insults still weren't especially vicious, but at least it had made its stance clear.
Just reading this stuff was enough to get every character interested.
[God of Evil of Douluo I]: "Hahaha, that's more like it! Now that's a sharp critique."
[God of Evil of Douluo I]: "It's just a shame the attack power's still a little weak. Maybe it's because they've only just started and aren't used to it. They'll get harsher later!"
[God of Destruction of Douluo I]: "Oh, I think I've got it now. So Bibi Dong is the leader of a top power, but she falls for a useless man and harms her own faction's interests?"
[God of Evil of Douluo I]: "It's not just her faction, either. You could say she harmed her benefactor!"
[Ning Rongrong of Douluo I]: "Wow, so the legendary pope of Spirit Hall really has a story like this?"
[Ning Rongrong of Douluo I]: "If it's true, how could a female Titled Douluo fall for a useless man who couldn't break through level thirty in his entire life?"
[Yu Xiaogang of Douluo I]: "You're the useless one! Shut up, you little brat! You're insulting me!"
[Ning Fengzhi of Douluo I]: "All right, Rongrong, don't start trouble here. There are plenty of powerful people watching..."
[Yu Xiaogang of Douluo I]: "I'm not useless! I'll say it again: the Light Screen is slandering me! There's nothing wrong with my theories!"
[Yu Xiaogang of Douluo I]: "I never plagiarized or misappropriated anything. If there was a coincidence, it was just a case of our work overlapping!"
[Yu Xiaogang of Douluo I]: "You can't doubt someone like me, who dedicated his entire life to theoretical research!"
[Liu Erlong of Douluo I]: "Exactly! Wasn't the Light Screen criticizing that bitch Bibi Dong? Why drag Xiaogang into it?!"
[Bibi Dong of Douluo I]: "You're the bitch! Liu Erlong, who do you think you are?"
[Di Tian of Douluo I]: "Humans truly are childish creatures. A dignified Titled Douluo is actually arguing over a useless man?"
[Bibi Dong of Douluo I]: "And what blind idiot are you?! Believe me, this sovereign will destroy you!!"
[God of Evil of Douluo I]: "Destroy Di Tian? Hahaha, go ahead, then. Di Tian, this human says she's going to destroy you! Hahaha!"
[Di Tian of Douluo I]: "Humans really are childish..."
[Tang San of Douluo I]: "Why is everything so chaotic? Teacher, did you really have that kind of relationship with the pope of Spirit Hall? What is the Light Screen talking about—your theories?"
[Yu Xiaogang of Douluo I]: "I'll say it again: I researched all my theories myself! Xiaosan, I'll explain it to you in private!"
In the Douluo Era, at Shrek Academy.
Yu Xiaogang stood in front of the Shrek Seven Devils, his face flushed and his eyes wide. His whole body trembled faintly.
"Xiaosan, what did you mean by that question you asked just now on the Light Screen?"
Yu Xiaogang's voice shook with barely restrained agitation as he stared straight at Tang San.
"Do you not believe your teacher, either?"
Tang San hurriedly waved his hands, his words coming out in a rush.
"No, Teacher, I just asked without thinking..."
"I absolutely didn't mean it that way. You know how much I respect you, Teacher."
Yu Xiaogang drew a deep breath. His chest heaved violently, and his voice rose.
"I'm telling you, Xiaosan, there's no way I, Yu Xiaogang, could have plagiarized someone else's theories!"
"Even if something coincided, it was just an overlap!"
"Or, I'll admit that a small part of it paid tribute to the theoretical researchers who came before me!"
"Paying tribute! You understand? Paying tribute!"
He clenched his fists and swept his gaze across everyone present.
"I am upright and spotless. There's nothing wrong with me!"
"The Light Screen was criticizing Bibi Dong in the first place. Can't you see that?"
"They're trying to shift the blame onto me! Someone's trying to frame me!"
The Shrek Seven Devils exchanged glances.
Dai Mubai frowned but said nothing. Oscar lowered his head and stared at the ground. Zhu Zhuqing remained expressionless, while Ma Hongjun scratched his head.
Xiao Wu bit her lip and glanced at Tang San. Ning Rongrong and Fatty exchanged bewildered looks.
They didn't know who to believe.
They couldn't help thinking that since the Light Screen could even disregard the gods, surely it wouldn't lie?
It didn't even care about gods. Would it really go out of its way to smear a mere Soul Grandmaster?
Still, Yu Xiaogang's reputation hadn't completely collapsed yet, so they couldn't openly turn on him just yet.
