Appearance

Xiao Mu is a young boy with a strong, athletic build, his physique honed through body martial soul cultivation, extreme physical conditioning, and the Body Sect’s second-awakening training. His resilience is extraordinary: he can withstand a thousand-meter deep-sea trench, endure Mu Ye’s painful secret technique, and strike with more than ten thousand jin after applying his first soul skill 24 43 44.

Following his second awakening, Xiao Mu becomes visibly taller, growing approximately a head taller than before after his three-month absence from East Sea Academy 53. He has black hair and is noted to possess eyes similar to Xiao Ming’s, though their color is not specified 53.

  • Hair color: Black 53
  • Eye color: Not specified; stated to resemble Xiao Ming’s eyes 1
  • Build: Athletic, muscular, and exceptionally resilient. He can deliver punches exceeding ten thousand jin with Royal Authority and withstand deep-sea pressure without injury 23 24 43.
  • Typical attire: A white shirt and overalls in casual settings 2. He wears East Sea Academy and later Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy uniforms while attending school 53 65.
  • Notable clothing: During his stay with Mu Ye, he wears a yellow-to-purple gradient shirt and shorts 47.
  • Battle Armor: By the Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy arc, Xiao Mu possesses Spirit-Possessed Battle Armor, which markedly enhances his physical combat power and force-field output 84 92 94.

Personality

Xiao Mu’s personality is defined by absolute confidence, sharp bluntness, fierce protectiveness, ruthless pragmatism, and an intellect that drives both his curiosity and ambition. He rarely doubts himself, speaks without concern for social niceties, and acts with an efficiency that borders on coldness—yet he also shows genuine care for those he considers his own.

  • Confidence and Self-Assurance: Xiao Mu possesses unwavering belief in his abilities and future success. At age nine, when asked if his abrasive personality would prevent him from finding a girlfriend, he replied that once he was strong enough, “fate will come knocking on its own” 13. His confidence is backed by overwhelming strength: he defeated Tang Wulin and Gu Yue with a shockwave, suppressed six classmates nearly alone, and consistently treats higher-level opponents as beneath him 21 40. He remains unmoved even before Holy Spirit Douluo Yali, War God Hall Super Douluos, and the Spirit Pagoda’s leadership 50 63. His later victories over a Soul Sage, the Plague Messenger, and Monster Academy’s Su Mu reinforce his belief that even prestigious opponents are not inherently threatening 94 99 137 138.
  • Bluntness and Provocative Speech: Xiao Mu is extraordinarily direct and frequently offends others. He repeatedly insults Mu Xi’s forging, calls her work substandard, and questions whether she has even reached third-rank blacksmith status 13 34. When Xu Xiaoyu challenged him, Xiao Mu responded with bemusement rather than anger, asking how Xu Xiaoyu’s brain worked 36. His classmates consider his tongue as dangerous as his fists 13.
  • Protective Nature: Xiao Mu is strongly protective of Na’er and, increasingly, Xu Xiaoyan. He shields Na’er from Gu Yue’s probing attention and comforts her during his second-awakening training 12 44 46. He wants Xu Xiaoyan to overcome her fear of battle, reprimands Xie Xie for making loose-lipped comments about her, and later seeks to strengthen her Starwheel martial soul at the Celestial Star Platform 36 53 76. His efforts allow Xu Xiaoyan’s martial soul to evolve and remove its former daytime weakness 78.
  • Ruthlessness and Pragmatism: Xiao Mu can be coldly ruthless against opponents. He destroys hostile soul masters’ confidence, absorbs spiritual power from defeated enemies within the Spirit Ascension Platform, and kills powerful soul beasts with little hesitation 29 36 38. He retaliates against the Spirit Pagoda by cutting its network and power supply after it denies him a soul bone 38 39 50. His pragmatism is not indiscriminate cruelty; he considers killing Guang Long unnecessary because doing so would “dirty” his hands 16. When ambushed after acquiring his fifth ring, he prioritizes escape and disables his attackers with a prepared mecha bomb rather than engaging carelessly 101.
  • Intelligence and Inventiveness: Xiao Mu is a natural inventor and researcher. He created the artificial intelligence butler Zero, upgraded Federation communication technology, developed combat equipment such as 3D Maneuver Gear, and pursues research into elements, mecha systems, and dangerous scientific experiments 8 24 27 48 55. His laboratory work later earns him recognition as a Federation Researcher 62 63. He develops Spirit-Possessed Battle Armor, modifies high-grade mechas, completes the core-sequencing modifications for God-Slaying Missiles, and creates a prototype level-nine fixed Soul Tool 92 103 120.
  • Competitiveness and Ambition: Xiao Mu seeks stronger opponents and greater knowledge, whether through Spirit Ascension Platforms, forging, academy ladder battles, or experimental research 28 48 73. He plans to establish a laboratory in Shrek City for dangerous experiments and wants to attain the legendary third awakening of a Body Martial Soul 46 48. He is indifferent toward ordinary competitions because he considers most opponents unworthy of his attention 53 62. Nevertheless, he actively accepts the challenge posed by Monster Academy and regards Long Yue as a worthwhile future opponent 126 129 138.

Abilities and Skills

Body Martial Soul

Xiao Mu possesses a Body Martial Soul that initially manifests as his hands but is ultimately revealed to encompass his entire body 2 24 31. During awakening, golden patterns spread from his heart across his body, and he displayed innate full soul power of ten alongside spiritual power of 198 2.

The martial soul grants Xiao Mu extraordinary physical ability. His left fist measures 3,500 jin and his right fist 4,500 jin; with Royal Authority, his arm strength surpasses 10,000 jin 24. His body is also highly resistant to environmental pressure and physical strain, enabling him to survive deep-sea training at a thousand-meter depth 43.

After his second awakening, his martial soul gains decomposition and reconstruction properties, allowing him to manipulate matter through the breakdown and reassembly of its constituent elements 45 46.

  • Applications: Enhances strength, speed, endurance, reactions, and durability; allows survival under extreme water pressure; enables decomposition and reconstruction of matter after the second awakening 24 43 46.
  • Limitations: The second awakening’s ability places severe strain on Xiao Mu’s mental power and consumes lifespan. Its microscopic and quantum-level precision remains restricted by his mental power 46.

Force Manipulation (First Soul Skill: Royal Authority)

Xiao Mu’s first soul skill, Royal Authority, enables him to alter the direction and magnitude of forces within an initial radius of approximately ten meters 4. It functions as an exceptionally versatile force field capable of manipulating gravity, kinetic energy, thermal energy, airflow, and the movement of physical objects 4 19 21.

He can apply Royal Authority to himself, external objects, attacks, or opponents. In battle, he uses it to immobilize enemies through gravity suppression, reverse gravity to launch enemies skyward, absorb elemental attacks, redirect projectiles, and accumulate energy for powerful strikes 13 19 21 36 40.

As his cultivation rises, Xiao Mu expands the field’s scale and sophistication. He can generate electromagnetic and thunder-based effects, form defensive vector-deflection layers around allies, and manipulate gravity strongly enough to create massive compressed spheres of stone and debris 97 99 102.

  • Applications: Manipulates gravity to fly or suppress opponents; absorbs and redirects kinetic and thermal energy; neutralizes elemental attacks; reinforces physical attacks; alters internal bodily functions to avoid decompression sickness; forms vacuum force fields; creates electromagnetic and gravity-based attacks 5 19 21 36 38 44 97 99.
  • Limitations: Its effective radius and output are limited by Xiao Mu’s soul power, physical strength, and control. High-output techniques can exhaust him 4 5 24.

Quantum Tunneling (Second Soul Skill)

Quantum Tunneling allows Xiao Mu or an object affected by his power to bypass macroscopic barriers, including physical armor, mecha defenses, and soul power shields 17. He can use it offensively to strike targets inside armored mechas or defensively by entering a quantum superposition-like state that avoids physical attacks 17 76.

  • Applications: Bypasses mecha armor and barriers; enables attacks against protected targets; grants near-immunity to conventional physical attacks while Xiao Mu is phased 17 76.
  • Limitations: When applied to external attacks, the eventual point and depth of penetration are initially difficult to control precisely 17. The phasing state does not inherently protect him from environmental hazards such as water or fire 17.
  • Ring Evolution: By Chapter 76, the second soul ring is a black ten-thousand-year ring 76.

Precognition (Third Soul Skill: Observation)

Observation grants Xiao Mu the ability to see approximately fifteen seconds into the future, with a fifteen-second cooldown 30. It manifests through visions reflected in his eyes and allows him to predict attacks, trajectories, and enemy actions before they occur 30 36.

  • Applications: Predicts incoming attacks; improves evasion and counterattacks; supports tactical coordination; allows Xiao Mu to prepare for an opponent’s actions before they begin 30 36 76.
  • Limitations: Each vision covers only fifteen seconds, and the cooldown prevents uninterrupted overlap without careful timing 30.

Gravity Sphere (Fourth Soul Skill)

Xiao Mu’s fourth soul skill manifests as a Gravity Sphere, a condensed gravitational construct that draws in nearby matter and compresses it around itself 97. The sphere can absorb stones, metal fragments, floor debris, and other loose material, forming a large rotating shell under immense pressure 97.

In combat, Xiao Mu uses the technique to engulf multiple opponents in a massive stone sphere while protecting allies through a reverse force-field buffer layer 97.

  • Applications: Generates localized gravitational attraction; gathers and compresses environmental matter; imprisons multiple opponents; creates heat through extreme pressure; allows selective protection of allies within the surrounding force field 97.
  • Limitations: The technique requires substantial control and environmental material to reach its largest scale; Xiao Mu reduces its size when using it against weaker opponents 97.

Schrödinger’s Cat (Fifth Soul Skill)

Xiao Mu’s fifth Soul Skill, obtained from the Nine-Life Cat, is the passive ability Schrödinger’s Cat 101. It allows two possible results to coexist until the state is observed, reflecting the quantum-superposition principles associated with Xiao Mu’s force manipulation 97 101.

The skill contributes to Xiao Mu’s unusual resistance to conventional rules and layered suppression, making his combat state difficult for opponents to predict or define 101 137.

  • Applications: Produces two coexisting possible outcomes until observation; supports unpredictable combat interactions; enhances his ability to circumvent rule-based suppression 101 137.
  • Limitations: The full scope and practical boundaries of the passive ability have not been disclosed 101.

Decomposition and Reconstruction (Second Martial Soul Awakening)

Following his eighty-one-day second awakening, Xiao Mu gains the ability to decompose matter into constituent elements and reconstruct it into new forms 45 46. The ability first manifests when he decomposes seawater under pressure from the Evil Spirit Orca pod, creating a vacuum-like zone and subsequently freezing the orcas to death 45 46.

He later demonstrates broader elemental applications, turning solid ground into quicksand, reconstructing it into altered stone slabs, and claiming the potential to control earth, water, wind, and fire through particle manipulation 55.

  • Applications: Decomposes seawater and other matter; reconstructs materials; creates quicksand; freezes enemies by manipulating their environment; may synthesize materials and eventually repair damaged tissue 46 55.
  • Limitations: Three minutes of use costs Xiao Mu 180 seconds of lifespan. The ability is mentally demanding, and quantum-level manipulation remains beyond his current mental-power limit 46.

Spirit Abilities (Jun Wu – Three-Legged Crow)

Xiao Mu’s contracted soul spirit is the Three-Legged Crow, Jun Wu, also called the True Monarch 3 4 16. Jun Wu can produce golden fire that Xiao Mu uses for forging, combat, and large-scale destruction 4 16 30 38.

Jun Wu’s flames are unusually difficult to extinguish, remaining active even when air is isolated 16. Xiao Mu can borrow the True Monarch’s power to wield powerful fire-control abilities and create an overwhelming red sun-like manifestation 34 38.

  • Applications: Smelting and forging; fire control; burning large areas of forest; suppressing fire-attributed martial souls; destroying Spirit Ascension Platform soul beasts 4 30 34 38.
  • Limitations: The intensity and duration of the flames depend on Xiao Mu’s soul power and Jun Wu’s support 4 16.

Second Soul Spirit – Nine-Life Cat

After reaching Rank 50, Xiao Mu travels to the Spirit Pagoda headquarters to select his second Soul Spirit 99. He defeats and absorbs the Soul Ring of the Nine-Life Cat, gaining his fifth Soul Ring and the passive Schrödinger’s Cat ability 101.

The Nine-Life Cat is sufficiently powerful that Leng Yaozhu states an ordinary seven-person team would require at least a six-ring soul master to defeat it 101.

  • Known traits: Source of Xiao Mu’s fifth Soul Ring and Schrödinger’s Cat passive ability; requires a payment of 300 million Federation dollars to the Spirit Pagoda 101.
  • Significance: Marks Xiao Mu’s breakthrough into the five-ring Soul King realm 99 101 120.

Soul Bone – Dark-Gold Dread-Claw Bear Right Palm Bone

After defeating the Dark-Gold Dread-Claw Bear guardian of the Spirit Ascension Platform, Xiao Mu absorbs its Right Palm Bone 29. The soul bone increases his overall strength by thirty percent and manifests as five dark-gold claw blades extending from his right knuckles 29.

  • Applications: Increases overall strength by 30%; provides claws capable of cutting and stabbing; can be combined with Royal Authority for enhanced cutting force 29 36.
  • Limitations: It is bound to Xiao Mu’s right palm and requires activation to manifest its claws 29.

Battle Armor and Soul Tools

Xiao Mu develops Spirit-Possessed Battle Armor, which substantially increases his physical strength and the destructive output of his abilities 84 92. While wearing it as a four-ring Soul Ancestor, he judges that a full-strength punch could kill a Soul King 84.

He and his team test their armor at War God Hall’s Hell Gate against reserve War Gods, including Titled Douluos 92. Xiao Mu later employs the Battle Armor to amplify a beam attack and a gravity-based fireball that surpasses a Soul Sage’s full-force strike 94.

Xiao Mu also continues producing advanced Soul Tools. He completes God-Slaying Missile core-sequencing modifications and, as a Soul King, deploys a prototype level-nine fixed Soul Tool to vaporize a large group of attacking sea soul beasts 92 120.

  • Known achievements: Develops Spirit-Possessed Battle Armor; tests it against War God Hall reserve War Gods; completes modifications for God-Slaying Missiles; creates a prototype level-nine fixed Soul Missile 92 94 120.
  • Applications: Enhances physical combat and soul-skill output; provides extreme-range destructive firepower against large enemy groups 84 94 120.

Forging and Secondary Professions

Xiao Mu is an outstanding blacksmith and possesses certifications in multiple mecha-related secondary professions. At age nine, he is already a third-level blacksmith with extreme standards for precision 13. He later completes first-grade Thousand Refinement on Deep Silver, impressing Divine Craftsman Zhen Hua, who offers to accept him as an apprentice 48.

After transferring to Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy, Xiao Mu receives substantial additional credits due to his blacksmith, mecha manufacturer, mecha designer, and repairman certifications 65. Within a year, he passes Level 6 Blacksmith certification 66.

During the Star Luo delegation’s forging challenge, Xiao Mu performs a Soul Refinement on Blue Pregnancy Copper and reaches half-step Soul Refinement, prompting Saint Craftsman Changgong Yan to concede on behalf of Lin Yuhan 105.

  • Known achievements: Third-level blacksmith at age nine; first-grade Thousand Refinement of Deep Silver; capable of approaching Spirit Refinement; Level 6 Blacksmith certification; half-step Soul Refinement of Blue Pregnancy Copper 13 48 66 105.
  • Precision standard: Requires parts to remain within an error margin of 0.005 millimeters 13.

History

Early Life

From a young age, Xiao Mu exhibited a deep fascination with soul-guide technology. At six years old, before awakening his martial soul, he was already manufacturing a soul guidance core for a mecha and had mastered the theoretical knowledge of a mecha manufacturer 1. As a transmigrator, he found the continent’s lack of modern communication technology frustrating and devoted himself to learning as much as possible about its scientific and technological systems 1.

His mother, Ye Ran, is a mecha designer who possesses the Tree of Life martial soul and vague future perception, while his father Xiao Ming is secretly a Titled Douluo-level powerhouse 1 42. Xiao Mu’s early interests focused more on tools, mechas, ballistics, and research than conventional soul master cultivation 1 7.

Martial Soul Awakening

At age six, Xiao Mu undergoes his martial soul awakening at the East Sea City Spirit Pagoda 2. The awakening is painful, with golden patterns spreading throughout his body, but Xiao Mu withstands it calmly 2.

His martial soul is recorded as Hands, a Body Martial Soul manifestation, and he is found to possess innate full soul power of ten 2. His spiritual power measures 198, placing him in the Spirit Connection Realm and enabling him to bear a thousand-year Soul Spirit 2.

Following the awakening, Xiao Mu contracts the Three-Legged Crow, Jun Wu, as his first Soul Spirit 3 4. Jun Wu’s golden true fire becomes one of Xiao Mu’s central offensive, forging, and destructive abilities 4 16.

East Sea Academy

Xiao Mu and Na’er attend the East Sea Academy’s elementary and later intermediate soul master classes together 7 10. During this period, Xiao Mu studies ballistics, develops artificial intelligence, and begins expanding his influence through Federation communication technology 7 8 12.

At age nine, he creates the artificial intelligence butler Zero and develops technology used by Federation base stations 8. His growing technological skill makes him an exceptional figure among young soul masters, even before his combat ability becomes widely understood 8 12.

After entering East Sea Academy as a two-ring Great Soul Master, Xiao Mu dominates his peers. He defeats Wei Xiaofeng, wins money from his roommates in cards, suppresses elemental attacks from Gu Yue, and defeats Tang Wulin and Gu Yue during the Class Promotion Tournament 10 19 21.

His blunt personality also makes him notorious at the Blacksmith Association, where he is already a third-level blacksmith and demands that parts meet a tolerance of 0.005 millimeters 13.

Guang Biao Incident

After Guang Long causes trouble in East Sea City, Xiao Mu hands him over to the police and prepares for retaliation from Guang Long’s brother, Guang Biao 16. Guang Biao, a six-ring Spirit Emperor and captain of the East Sea City Mecha Brigade, blockades East Sea Academy with armed personnel 16 17.

Xiao Mu confronts Guang Biao from the academy rooftop as a mysterious sniper. Using a restricted soul guidance weapon, Royal Authority, and Quantum Tunneling, he bypasses Guang Biao’s Black-Grade Mecha defenses and defeats him 17. The incident ends when East Sea Legion mechas arrive, arresting Guang Biao’s men for violating Federation regulations 18.

The confrontation establishes Xiao Mu’s hidden political status and causes Tang Wulin, Gu Yue, and others to recognize the immense gap between him and ordinary students 18.

Spirit Ascension Platform Incidents

Xiao Mu enters the Primary Spirit Ascension Platform with self-made 3D Maneuver Gear and advanced soul tools, relying heavily on technology in combat 25 27. He eventually defeats the Dark-Gold Dread-Claw Bear guardian through an electromagnetic coin attack, then absorbs its Right Palm Bone 29.

After entering the Intermediate Spirit Ascension Platform with Na’er and Gu Yue, Xiao Mu uses Jun Wu’s flames to destroy large numbers of soul beasts. The resulting spiritual-energy accumulation allows him to manifest his third soul ring and obtain Observation, a future-sight ability 30.

During the Riot Spirit Ascension Platform event, Xiao Mu works with Na’er, Gu Yue, and Wei Xiaofeng. He defeats Mu Xi, Xu Xiaoyu, and numerous soul beasts while demonstrating gravity suppression, gravity reversal, elemental absorption, and fire control 33 34 36.

Angered by the Spirit Pagoda’s refusal to give him another soul bone, Xiao Mu burns the Primary Spirit Ascension Platform and later kills a ten-thousand-year Earth King in the Intermediate Platform with a vacuum force field 38. He then cuts off the Spirit Pagoda’s network and power supply, later revealing that he revoked the communication technology authorization because he had not received what he considered his rightful reward 38 39 50.

Martial Soul Second Awakening

Following the Spirit Ascension Platform incidents, Mu Ye comes to Xiao Mu’s home to help him undergo a Body Sect-style second awakening 42. Xiao Mu’s family accepts the arrangement after Ye Ran correctly infers Mu Ye’s purpose through her vague perception of the future 42.

Mu Ye takes Xiao Mu to a thousand-meter deep-sea trench, where he forces Xiao Mu to endure extreme pressure and rapid depth changes 43. Xiao Mu uses Royal Authority to adjust his internal functions and prevent decompression sickness 44.

The process takes eighty-one days rather than the expected forty-nine 45. On the final day, Mu Ye tests Xiao Mu against Demon Soul Great White Sharks and Evil Spirit Orcas. Although the orcas overwhelm him with a giant wave, the pressure triggers his martial soul’s transformation 45.

Xiao Mu gains decomposition and reconstruction abilities, allowing him to break down seawater, freeze the Evil Spirit Orca pod, and kill the creatures 46. He recognizes that the ability consumes lifespan and requires greater mental power for microscopic control, but he becomes determined to reach the legendary third awakening 46.

Heaven Dou City and Forging Development

After the second awakening, Mu Ye introduces Xiao Mu to Divine Craftsman Zhen Hua 47. Xiao Mu demonstrates remarkable forging ability by completing first-grade Thousand Refinement on Deep Silver 48.

Zhen Hua offers to accept Xiao Mu as an apprentice and believes he could become the youngest Divine Craftsman, but Xiao Mu declines for the time being because he wants to prioritize research and laboratory construction 48. He plans to build a laboratory in Shrek City for dangerous scientific experiments 48.

Xiao Mu also visits the Spirit Pagoda in Heaven Dou City, manipulates the Soul Spirit lottery machine with his martial soul ability, and receives a century-old Soul Spirit 50. During this visit, he openly reveals that he revoked access to Federation communication technology in retaliation for the denied soul bone 50.

Return to Zero Class and Sky Sea Alliance Grand Competition

After three months away, Xiao Mu returns to Zero Class visibly taller and stronger due to his second awakening 53. Xu Xiaoyan is ecstatic to see him, while Wu Zhangkong reacts with frustration to Xiao Mu’s continued indifference toward ordinary academy activities 53.

During sparring, Xiao Mu defeats Gu Yue by decomposing the arena floor into quicksand and then reconstructing it into stone 55. He claims that the same principles allow him to manipulate water, wind, and fire, alarming Gu Yue because his elemental control may rival hers 55.

At the Sky Sea Alliance Grand Competition, Xiao Mu dominates the individual, trio, and team categories. East Sea Academy wins all categories, and Xiao Mu receives three gold medals 62 64.

Transfer to Ming Capital

Following the competition, Holy Spirit Douluo Yali personally invites Xiao Mu to join Shrek Academy, but he declines 63. The Federation instead dispatches Haori Douluo Ao Rui and Magic Zither Douluo Mo Zihong to bring him to Ming Capital, where a laboratory has been prepared for him 62 63.

Xiao Mu agrees to transfer to Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy and brings Na’er, Xu Xiaoyan, and Wei Xiaofeng with him 63. Gu Yue also follows, partly because she considers Xiao Mu the greatest potential threat to the soul beast clan and wishes to monitor him directly 63.

At Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy, Xiao Mu receives 3,600 credits each month due to his certifications as a blacksmith, mecha manufacturer, mecha designer, and repairman 65. He later reaches Level 6 Blacksmith certification, tops the academy’s credit rankings, and continues building his laboratory network 66.

Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy

At the academy, Xiao Mu continues dominating elite students. He defeats Long Chen, a genius-list student with the Radiant Sacred Dragon martial soul, through force-field and gravity control 73.

He also helps Yuanen Yehui transfer to the academy and offers her employment at his laboratory 68 73. His laboratory increasingly becomes a center for research into chemistry, metals, elemental manipulation, and dangerous experimental applications 68 73.

In a later confrontation with Long Yeyue, Xiao Mu activates his evolved black ten-thousand-year second soul ring and enters Quantum Tunneling to evade her physical strike 76. He defeats her using a liquid metallic mercury attack, further proving that his combat methods continue to evolve beyond conventional soul master expectations 76.

Heaven's Decree City and Xu Xiaoyan’s Evolution

Xiao Mu brings Xu Xiaoyan, Na’er, and Gu Yue to Heaven’s Decree Starry Sky Soul Master Academy so Xu Xiaoyan can cultivate at the Star-Gazing Platform 76 78. Xiao Mu chooses the location specifically to remove the Starwheel martial soul’s severe daytime limitation 76.

During the cultivation session, Xiao Mu absorbs stellar power while Xu Xiaoyan’s Star Wheel martial soul undergoes a complete evolution 78. Her soul power rises by four levels, nearing Rank 30, and she becomes capable of absorbing three thousand-year soul rings and freely utilizing stellar power during the day 78.

The result vindicates Xiao Mu’s assessment of Xu Xiaoyan’s potential and significantly strengthens her place within his regular team 76 78.

Battle Armor and War God Hall Testing

Xiao Mu completes a set of Spirit-Possessed Battle Armor at Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy, reaching the four-ring Soul Ancestor realm by this stage 84. The armor’s amplification is substantial enough that Xiao Mu believes a full-strength punch could kill a Soul King 84.

After completing God-Slaying Missile core-sequencing modifications, Xiao Mu’s group elects to test their Battle Armor at War God Hall’s Hell Gate against reserve War Gods 92. Their test brings them into conflict with much stronger opponents, including the Soul Sage Chi Shanming 94.

Xiao Mu uses the armor to support a high-powered beam attack and later creates a gravity-based fireball whose output surpasses Chi Shanming’s full-force attack 94. Sky-Crossing Douluo Guan Yue observes the battle and acknowledges the extraordinary strength of the younger generation 94.

Shrek Conflict and Fourth Soul Ring

During a later confrontation with a Shrek Academy team, Xiao Mu activates his fourth Soul Ring and launches Gravity Sphere 97. The skill gathers stone, debris, metal fragments, and other material into a rotating spherical prison that engulfs Tang Wulin and the rest of the team 97.

Wu Zhangkong intervenes to rescue the trapped students and concedes the match 97. Xiao Mu’s force field also disturbs the Golden Dragon King Divine Core within Tang Wulin, sending it into a quantum-superposition state with uncertain consequences 97.

Fifth Soul Spirit and Evil Soul Master Incidents

After defeating the Plague Messenger with his team, Xiao Mu reaches Rank 50 but deliberately postpones breaking through until he can obtain a second Soul Spirit 99. He travels to the Spirit Pagoda headquarters with Gu Yue and Na’er, selects the Nine-Life Cat, and successfully absorbs its Soul Ring after defeating it 99 101.

The Nine-Life Cat provides Xiao Mu with his fifth Soul Ring and the passive Soul Skill Schrödinger’s Cat 101. The group is subsequently ambushed by a Soul Emperor and a gray-robed youth, but Xiao Mu escapes through a flash system and leaves a bomb inside their mecha, injuring both attackers 101.

The next encounter escalates outside Shrek City. Xiao Mu uses vector deflection and the Dark-Gold Dread-Claw to kill the Soul Emperor, while Ice Moon Douluo kills Ning Fengzhi and secures the group’s safety 102.

Star Luo Delegation and Forging Challenge

Xiao Mu later travels to Heaven Dou City in a modified Black-Grade Mecha with Na’er and Xu Xiaoyan to meet Zhen Hua at the Blacksmith Association 103. During the visit, Saint Craftsman Changgong Yan and his apprentice Lin Yuhan arrive from the Star Luo Empire to challenge the association to a forging contest 103.

Xiao Mu performs a Soul Refinement on Blue Pregnancy Copper and reaches half-step Soul Refinement, compelling Changgong Yan to concede defeat on Lin Yuhan’s behalf 105. An assassination attempt against Zhen Hua by Evil Soul Masters interrupts the event, though the attacking Super Douluo evades Mu Ye’s pursuit 105 106.

Xiao Mu identifies the wider strategic implications of the Star Luo delegation and the Federation’s relationship with other continents, anticipating that their contact will carry military and technological consequences 106.

Voyage to Star Luo Continent

After three quiet months at Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy, Xiao Mu joins Xu Xiaoyan, Na’er, Gu Yue, and Yuanen Yehui on a planned year-long voyage to Star Luo Continent 113. They depart from Skysea City aboard a heavily armed ship under the protection of Luo Yuhang, War God Hall’s Third War God 113.

During an attack by sea soul beasts, Xiao Mu—now a five-ring Soul King—deploys a prototype level-nine fixed Soul Missile that vaporizes a large group of attacking creatures 120. His weaponry supports Luo Yuhang’s defense against hundred-thousand-year soul beasts and a ferocious beast exceeding two hundred thousand years in cultivation 120.

Star Luo Tournament

Upon arrival in Star Luo, Xiao Mu enters the All-Continent Advanced Youth Soul Master Elite Tournament alongside the Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy team 124 128. He meets Monster Academy’s Eight Heavenly Kings, including Long Yue, Dai Yueyan, Dai Yun’er, Hua Landang, Ye Zhi, and Su Mu 126 127.

Xiao Mu defeats his opening individual opponent, an Ironclad Rhinoceros martial soul user, through pure hand-to-hand combat without using soul skills, mechas, or Battle Armor 129. Monster Academy assesses his physical strength as being at least comparable to a Soul Emperor’s 129.

In doubles, Xiao Mu partners with Xu Xiaoyan against Hua Landang and Ye Zhi. Xu Xiaoyan restrains Hua Landang with Star Wheel Chain, enabling Xiao Mu to drive him from the arena with a sequence of forceful punches 130.

After receiving access tokens for the Tang Sect’s Dragon Valley secret realm, Xiao Mu begins the solo stage of the tournament 135. He defeats Monster Academy’s Su Mu, the third-ranked Eight Heavenly King, with a single force-field-enhanced punch that ignores Su Mu’s layered defenses and sends him out of the arena 137.

The victory establishes Xiao Mu as one of the tournament’s foremost contenders. Long Yue raises his assessment of Xiao Mu and acknowledges that he would need to treat a future battle seriously, while Xiao Mu advances to the top eight to face Dai Yueyan 137 138.
