Background / History

The Sea God ascended through the faith of sea soul beasts. His ascension was supported not only by protecting a region of ocean from evil soul beasts, but also by safeguarding the inhabitants of Sea God Island. His inheritance and residual divine power remained concentrated on the island, enabling its High Priestess, Bo Saixi, to draw upon that power in battle. 47 55

His authority over Sea God Island included the Sea God Trident, the Seven Sacred Pillars, and a line of guardians. The island's defenses were heavily dependent on his remaining divine power; Bo Saixi could only repel the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King while using that power on Sea God Island. 30

After the destruction of the Capital of Slaughter, the Asura God approached the Sea God for assistance against Lan Lingcang, a soul beast gathering faith to pursue godhood. Initially treating the matter as unrelated to Sea God Island, the Sea God nevertheless issued a divine decree ordering Bo Saixi to travel to Douluo Continent and kill Lan Lingcang. 88

Personality

The Sea God is composed and self-assured, even when confronting the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King amid the destruction of Sea God Island. He displays little visible grief for the island's casualties, addressing the Whale King with calm threats rather than emotion. 94

He is also pragmatic and observant. When the Asura God sought his help, he initially questioned why he should involve himself, then agreed to send Bo Saixi after judging Lan Lingcang's rise worth watching. 88 Following Bo Saixi's death and the loss of his trident, he personally joined the assault on Lan Lingcang when the God of Destruction ordered the God Realm's forces to act. 91 99

Conflict with the Blue Silver Sect

The Sea God became involved in the conflict over Lan Lingcang's faith-gathering after the Asura God framed the Blue Silver Sect's growth as a threat to the God Realm. He dispatched Bo Saixi from Sea God Island with a direct order to assassinate Lan Lingcang. 88

Bo Saixi confronted Lan Lingcang in Blue Silver City with the Sea God Trident and invoked Sea God Descent. The Sea God's possession, mental attacks, and trident techniques failed to overcome Lan Lingcang's defenses. 90 91

Lan Lingcang killed Bo Saixi using the Life and Death Arena, weakening the Sea God's influence over Sea God Island and taking the Sea God Trident. 91

Sea God Island Crisis

With the island's divine power diminished, the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King attacked Sea God Island. The Seven Sacred Pillar Guardians and Xiao Bai's Demon Soul Great White Shark clan were overwhelmed, and at least a third of the islanders died. 93 94

The Sea God's phantom ultimately manifested from Sea God Hall, defeated the Whale King, and ordered the survivors to rebuild the island and preserve the inheritance. 94 95

Death in the God Realm

The Sea God descended with the Asura God to eliminate Lan Lingcang during his million-year godhood tribulation, but both were recalled when the Golden Dragon King broke free of its seal. 98

When the God of Destruction ordered an attack on Lan Lingcang's advancement, the Sea God attacked first, motivated by Bo Saixi's death and the loss of his trident. He was ultimately killed by Lan Lingcang during the God Realm battle. 99
