Background
Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village as Tang Hao's son. He helped his father forge iron and practiced cultivation techniques from fragmentary memories from an early age. He also shared those incomplete techniques with other village children, but the attempt resulted in several children nearly injuring their eyes and Tang Hao compensating their parents. 3
At his martial soul awakening, Tang San manifested Blue Silver Grass and was identified as possessing Innate Full Spirit Power. While Su Yuntao dismissed Blue Silver Grass, Old Jack recognized that Tang San's spirit power gave Holy Soul Village hope of producing a Spirit Master. 1
Old Jack later brought Tang San to enroll at Notting Academy. Because Tang Hao provided him no money, Tang San attended as a Work-Study Student. Yu Xiaogang became intensely interested in his unusual combination of Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Spirit Power, personally escorted him to register, and became his master. 4 5
Tang San later obtained a 789-year-old Iron Wood Vine spirit ring, exceeding the age limit expected by Grandmaster's theories. Its skill, Blue Silver Reinforcement, made his martial soul tougher and versatile enough to form weapons. 19
After two years of oppressive academic reforms in Soto City, Tang San escaped alongside Du Hao, Zhu Zhuqing, and Xiao Wu. He subsequently arrived at Shrek Academy and participated in its enrollment assessment against Zhao Wuji. 31 41 43
Appearance
Tang San is a young boy with a dark complexion attributed to years of blacksmithing. He keeps himself neat and wears a hat; his Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges belt makes him appear wealthier than a typical Work-Study Student. 16 24
- Dark-skinned from working at a forge. 24
- Usually neatly dressed and wearing a hat. 16
- Wears the gem-studded Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges at his waist. 16
Personality
Tang San is diligent, curious, and intensely committed to improving his cultivation. He eagerly studies techniques, immediately seeks to understand unfamiliar methods, and trained obsessively after learning the principle of compressing and releasing soul power. 19 20
He is loyal to his friends, particularly Du Hao, and worries about companions when they are apart. He is also polite and respectful toward teachers and senior figures, including Yu Xiaogang and Flender. 10 13 24
Despite his outwardly timid or harmless behavior, Tang San can be mischievous, cunning, and provocative. He proposes using his Sleeve Sword to prank the academy gatekeeper, taunts Xiao Chenyu's group after defeating Ling Feng, and enjoys observing public disputes after spending years around Du Hao. 4 16 29
Abilities & Skills
Blue Silver Grass
Tang San's primary manifested martial soul is Blue Silver Grass. Initially disparaged as a weak spirit, it becomes far more dangerous through his spirit rings, soul power control, and improvised techniques. 1 19
- Blue Silver Reinforcement — hardens and strengthens the grass; it can be shaped into different weapons according to Tang San's will. 19
- Razor Leaf — produces numerous hardened blades from Blue Silver Grass. 43
- Blue Silver Entanglement — his second soul skill; binds an opponent's legs in place. 43
- Blue Silver Grass Flying Needles — a self-developed projectile technique. 20
- Blue Silver Grass Vest Restraint — a self-created restraining move. 20

- His understanding improves rapidly once the missing principle becomes clear. 20
