Background / History

Zhu Zhuqing was born into the Zhu Family of the Star Luo Empire as Zhu Mo's younger daughter and Zhu Zhuyun's sister. Her family's succession rules left her bound to Dai Mubai, the Star Luo Empire's Third Prince, yet Dai Mubai left the empire less than two years after her martial soul awakened. Having met him only a few times, Zhu Zhuqing never had an opportunity to test their potential Martial Soul Fusion Skill. 35

When Cheng Xiao encountered the Zhu Family in the Star Dou Great Forest, Zhu Zhuqing was already emotionally isolated and treated as less favored than her elder sister. She observed Cheng Xiao with an unnervingly cold, direct gaze, then unexpectedly asked him to travel with her when she was sent away from the group. 33 34

Believing a momentary reaction from her Hell Spirit Cat martial soul to be Martial Soul resonance, Zhu Zhuqing invited Cheng Xiao to return with her and pledge loyalty to her personally rather than to the Zhu Family. She hoped a compatible partner could become her means of surviving against Zhu Zhuyun and Dai Weisi. Cheng Xiao accepted only to deceive her, leaving her deeply disillusioned when his lies were exposed. 35 37

During Cheng Xiao's confrontation with Zhu Family servants and his Shadow Soul Beasts, Zhu Zhuqing fled in fear and later felt overwhelming shame for abandoning the others. Her guilt was intensified when Zhu Zhuyun mocked her for making the same choice she had once despised in Dai Mubai. 39 After seeing the scale of Cheng Xiao's abilities, she became painfully aware of the gap between them but also resolved that she needed strength enough to face Zhu Zhuyun herself. 40

Despite her cold exterior, she is vulnerable to abandonment and initially sought a Martial Soul Fusion partner out of desperation rather than affection alone. Cheng Xiao's betrayal convinced her that she could not rely on others, while her own flight from danger forced her to confront her fear of death and cowardice. 35 37 39

Zhu Zhuqing is resilient and capable of decisive action under pressure.
