Background / History

Gu Yena resides beneath the Lake of Life in the Star Dou Great Forest. When the Space-Time Dragon God King's presence reaches the Douluo God Realm, her Dragon God bloodline reacts with instinctive alarm, recognizing an absolute bloodline suppression surpassing even the original Dragon God. 2

As the Silver Dragon King and a fragment of the Dragon God, she bears the burden of the soul beasts' inability to ascend into godhood. Yang Teng offers to break this “iron law” in exchange for her protection. After inspecting the seal on Yang Teng and his immortal-energy-nourished divine spear, she accepts the bargain and becomes his bodyguard. 3

To avoid attracting the God Realm's attention, Gu Yena suppresses her aura and apparent cultivation to the Soul King level while traveling with Yang Teng. She later enrolls at Tianshui Academy as an exceptionally gifted elemental-control spirit master and requests that Yang Teng be admitted alongside her. 4 7

During Yang Teng's heavenly tribulation, Gu Yena opens a spatial rift with the Silver Dragon Spear and brings him to the Lake of Life, ordering the forest's fierce beasts to remain away. She later channels life force to support his recovery. 15 16
