Background / History

Su Mo was originally a teacher on Earth. During a library fire, he saved his student Lin Xiaowu by shielding her and jumping from a third-floor window. He later awakened in the body of a six-year-old in Holy Soul Village. 1 2

In his new life, Su Mo lived with his bedridden mother, Su Zhaowan. To support her treatment and their household, he wrote and rented out novels; his collection covered works such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Journey to the West, and Battle Through the Heavens. 1 2 6

At his Spirit Awakening, Su Mo recognized his unusual old-man phantom as Confucius. His respectful bow summoned a divine inheritance: Confucius judged him to possess benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, filial piety, and courage, then bestowed the Saintly Body of Virtue upon him. 3

Although he initially gave up the work-study quota to Tang San, Su Yuntao later arranged Su Mo’s admission to Notting Junior Spirit Master Academy and funded treatment for Su Zhaowan. Su Mo left Holy Soul Village determined to become stronger and find a way to cure her. 4 11 12 13

At Notting Academy, Su Mo became Tang San’s master, later accepted Xiao Wu as a disciple, and led the group into the Star Dou Forest to seek spirit rings. There, he helped Tang San survive an unusually high-aged first spirit ring absorption and personally obtained a nine-hundred-year ring from the Benevolent Ancient Tree. 10 24 31 38 44

Appearance

Su Mo normally resembles a slight, fair, six-year-old boy with delicate features and an elegant temperament. When he activates the Saintly Body of Virtue, he becomes a massive, muscular figure approximately 2.2 meters tall. 1 5 6

Personality

Su Mo is practical, cautious, and unusually mature for his apparent age, shaped by his past life as a teacher and by his responsibility to support his mother. He is willing to exploit misunderstandings around his books when they provide money or protection, but remains sincerely grateful to those who help his family. 2 9 12

As a master, he is patient but firm. He accepts Tang San and Xiao Wu as disciples, sets boundaries for Xiao Wu, and prepares extensive safeguards when Tang San risks absorbing a powerful spirit ring. 24 25 38

He is also blunt toward arrogance and corruption. He humiliates Yu Xiaogang by exposing flaws in his martial-soul knowledge, and directly confronts gatekeepers who insult him, Tang San, or his mother. 14 15 19
