Background / History

Xiao Wu entered Notting Academy as a work-study student and arrived at Dormitory Seven without bedding or spare clothes. Her first introduction was marked by her immediate interest in Big Black Ox, whom she recognized as a soul beast rather than merely Su Mo's mount or guard. 21 22 24

Seeking the dormitory-head position, she defeated Wang Sheng and the other Dormitory Seven students in moments. She then challenged Su Mo after identifying him as the strongest person present, but Tang San intervened. Their fight was stopped when Su Mo forcibly separated them. 22

Xiao Wu concluded that Su Mo was a soul beast because of his transformation and his closeness to Big Black Ox. Although Su Mo denied it, she remained convinced and sought his protection and instruction. Su Mo ultimately accepted her as a disciple, on the condition that she call him “Master” rather than “Master-daddy.” 22 23 24

During the group’s journey through Star Dou Forest, Xiao Wu explained the soul beasts’ survival principle: the weak are prey to the strong, and soul beasts may hunt one another for food or cultivation. She also revealed that her mother was killed and vowed to become strong enough to protect Su Mo and personally take revenge. 33 34
