Background / History

In his previous life, Yu Xiaogang died old, bedridden, and alone. Liu Erlong had left him, Bibi Dong remained an unresolved regret, and Tang San visited only once after becoming a god to thank him for his guidance. Yu Xiaogang considered Tang San’s ascension the defining achievement of his own life, yet received no path to the God Realm in return. 13

Reborn as a middle-aged man in Notting City with his former memories intact, Yu Xiaogang resolves to discard the restraint he believes ruined his first life. He intends to control Tang San until reaching the God Realm, then abandon him; reclaim Liu Erlong; exploit Bibi Dong’s feelings and secrets; and ultimately take Spirit Hall for himself. 13

His plans immediately diverge from his memories when Tang San enters Notting Academy under Su Mo’s tutelage rather than becoming dependent on Yu Xiaogang. 17 18

Appearance

Yu Xiaogang is a middle-aged man with weathered features, thick knuckles, and calluses attributed to years of holding a pen. At his rebirth, he wears faded coarse-cloth clothing and damaged socks in a dilapidated inn room. 13
