Background / History

The Star Dragon Sanctuary was created when the Ancestral Dragon sacrificed his divine body, transforming it into a life-filled star domain. He appointed seven gods as its guardians, ordering them to establish order and await a new Domain Lord. The Four Great Divine Dragons respectively chose the sun, sky, Vast Sea, and earth; Rakshasa Anwu and the Prison King Dragon represented darkness and death to maintain balance. 162

Yuan Li, later known as the Capricorn Star Dragon, renounced higher divine authority to enter the Sanctuary as a mortal. He sought suitable inheritors for the power of the Twelve Star Dragons and worked to end the planar wars that had afflicted the Sanctuary for millions of years. 162

After the Ancestral Dragon's power dissipated, the Sanctuary expanded greatly. Yuan Li met the six primordial deities to establish its laws, forged the Demon God Scepter, and became its sole guardian after relinquishing higher authority to protect it. 163

Xing Dala, a small crimson dragon born with the divine power of the six major constellations, became a new Domain Lord. He was later revealed as the Ancestral Dragon's reincarnation, suppressing his true form to preserve the balance of the six constellation origins. 163 164

Rakshasa Anwu and the Prison King Dragon eventually rebelled against Xing Dala. During the resulting world-ending war, Rakshasa Anwu created followers with Obsidian Dragon Scales, though many became half-dragon monsters or died from the power's backlash. Xing Dala used the Star Saint Sword to purify and destroy Rakshasa Anwu, exhausting his own divine power in the process. 164

Before dissipating, Xing Dala received knowledge from his future self regarding Rakshasa Anwu's destruction and the coming Black Hole Devouring. He subsequently initiated Ultimate Apotheosis, turning his final divine power into the Six Star Constellation Cities so that they could participate in the future seal. 177

The Sanctuary later faced Black Hole Devouring. The Twelve Star Dragons and six Ultimate Dragon Gods defended it; the Twelve Star Dragons ultimately used Twelve Star Rotation to seal and preserve the entire Sanctuary. The Domain Lord was responsible for helping it escape the catastrophe. 168 169

Nan Feng later led the sealed Sanctuary out of the black hole as the incarnation of the Emperor Holy Dragon. The events shown by the Sky Screen further indicate that Xing Dala entered the black hole after attaining the Emperor Holy Dragon form and chose rebirth for the sake of the Sanctuary and its inhabitants. 180

After transmigrating to the Douluo Continent, Nan Feng awakened the Emperor Armor martial soul and established the present-day Star Dragon Sanctuary through the Dragon Fighting Upgrade System. By the time his cultivation reached the Limit Douluo realm, the Twelve Star Dragons had long since entered the Title Douluo realm and several Sanctuary members had reached Limit Douluo. Nan Feng subsequently sealed the Sanctuary and led its inhabitants into seclusion while preparing for godhood. 1

Star Dragon Tower

The Star Dragon Tower is the central institution of the Sanctuary and the seat of the Twelve Star Dragons. Its Star Dragons are described as the Sanctuary's peak combatants and directly answer to the Domain Lord. 74 95

The Tower is a thousand-zhang structure suspended in the void and surrounded by dense stars. Its exterior is carved with dragon-shaped patterns containing profound divine power. 63

The Tower is controlled through the Net System Crystal, which channels Star Constellation Divine Power into the six great star cities and throughout the Sanctuary's void. 167

At its summit is a six-pointed altar made from dark-gold star meteorites. A massive purple crystal above the altar contains a miniature star sea and star map representing the entire Sanctuary. 167
