Overview

A Soul Master is an individual capable of cultivating Soul Power after awakening a Martial Soul. Martial Souls are awakened during a Martial Soul Awakening Ceremony, typically at age six; possessing Innate Soul Power determines whether the awakened person can cultivate toward official Soul Master status. 15 63

A person below Level 10 may possess Soul Power, but is not generally recognized as an official Soul Master outside villages and small towns. Official Soul Masters are registered after acquiring their first Soul Ring, and their advancement history is recorded by Martial Soul Hall. 52 133

Martial Souls

Martial Souls are the basis of a Soul Master's abilities. They are linked to the user's body, bloodline, and soul, and are driven by Soul Power. They may be strengthened through sustained nourishment by Soul Power. 449

Major classifications

Tool Martial Souls are often treated as support-oriented, though weapon-type Tool Martial Souls—such as swords, spears, halberds, and axes—commonly lead their wielders toward Battle Soul Master paths. 148

Soul Rings and Soul Skills

Soul Rings are acquired at major level thresholds and grant Soul Skills. A Soul Master normally receives one Soul Skill per Soul Ring, though Soul Bones and exceptional circumstances can provide additional abilities. 61

Soul Skills may serve offensive, defensive, enhancement, control, healing, support, or logistical functions. Their activation consumes Soul Power. 61 139

Absorbing higher-age Soul Rings requires sufficient physical strength and Mental Strength. Ten Thousand Year Soul Rings are generally attempted only after reaching Level 50, though even many well-supported Soul Masters do not obtain one until their sixth ring. 531

A Soul Ring's attributes should suit the Martial Soul and the Soul Master's own foundation. Mismatched attributes can create obstacles that worsen as cultivation advances. 456

Cultivation

Soul Masters cultivate by absorbing Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy through their Martial Souls, but food, physical conditioning, resources, and environment remain essential to sustained growth. 162

Cultivation speed is influenced by several factors:

• Innate Soul Power — the strongest conventional indicator of long-term potential. 456
• Martial Soul quality — higher-quality Martial Souls generally offer greater potential and stronger foundations. 63
• Physical condition — physique, meridians, nutrition, and body tempering affect Soul Power accumulation and Soul Ring tolerance. 84 145
• Mental Strength — increasingly important at higher realms, particularly from Soul Sage onward. 22 222
• Resources and environment — rare materials, suitable cultivation environments, and institutional backing can greatly accelerate progress. 63 84

Social Status

Becoming a One-Ring Soul Master is widely regarded as a leap in social class. Soul Master descendants also have a comparatively high chance of inheriting the aptitude to become Soul Masters. 18

Martial Soul Hall issues official Soul Master badges and handbooks. The handbook functions as an identification document, records the user's Martial Soul, registration details, and advancement history, and can hold up to ten entries. 52

Military value

Healing- and food-type Soul Masters are especially valued by armies because they preserve personnel, sustain combat effectiveness, and support logistics. 139

• A Great Soul Master-level food-type Soul Master can supply roughly one hundred soldiers. 139
• A newly advanced Soul Elder-level food-type Soul Master can sustain more than five hundred soldiers. 139

Limitations and Risks

• Most awakened children do not possess Innate Soul Power and cannot cultivate as Soul Masters. 12 15
• Fewer than half of academy entrants may ultimately reach Level 10 and obtain a first Soul Ring. 32
• Advancement becomes sharply more difficult after Level 10 and increasingly dependent on talent, resources, compatible Soul Rings, and survival. 36 258
