After defeating the sect’s attackers, he agreed to guard Gu Qingzhi and the others for ten years, while Big Black Dog asked him to break its nearby seal.

• Ye Lin learned from Liu Ruoxin about the Eight Wastelands Qi-Devouring Cauldron, then traveled alone to Death's End City while his companions split up to explore the True Spirit Land.
• As Buddhist monks attacked Death's End City, Ye Lin stole the cauldron, found and awakened a zombie in a hidden coffin, then destroyed the city and killed the monks pursuing him.
• Li Xiaoyao and his companions reached a village protected by the plant True Spirit Heavenly Chan, where Gu Qingzhi learned that Food Beasts feared potent vitality.
• Gu Qingzhi and Wang Tian helped Heavenly Chan strengthen its foundations, and Li Xiaoyao confirmed that the tree’s vitality drove off the Food Beasts.

Ye Lin freed the Black Emperor, who began planning a thorough remaking of his cultivation and sent him to collect rare resources. Ye Lin stole the Earth Lotus Grass from Heavenly Fate Heavy City, escaped the Myriad Dharma Buddhist Sect’s pursuit, and reached the Snowfield, where he encountered a child and a Demon Beast invisible to his divine sense.

• Ye Lin learned the Grand Void Ashen Extinction Finger from the black dog and helped Bao Xiaotou, Li Xiaoyao, and Gu Qingzhi break the formation that sealed him.
• The freed dog introduced himself as the Black Emperor, gave Ye Lin’s companions Dao manuals and treasures, and urged Ye Lin to focus his cultivation on the sword.
• After ten years in the village, Li Xiaoyao brought back a boulder that revealed a divine bone, while the true spirit of vegetation completed its lightning tribulation.

Ye Lin obtained the Heart of Vastness and a Mirage Dragon Reverse Scale through confrontations and an organized hunt. He left the Divine Mountain without a Jade Ring Fruit, but its divine woman offered him one in exchange for killing a mysterious sleeping man.

• Ye Lin traveled to the Snowfield’s northern edge, where Heartless and the Eighteen Arhats tried to take Vast Expanse’s heart with Buddhist treasures.
• Ye Lin attacked Heartless and broke the Arhats’ formation, allowing Vast Expanse to escape and kill Heartless.
• Vast Expanse gave Ye Lin the Heart of Vastness, then swallowed the three supreme treasures and Heartless’s Spatial Ring.
• Ye Lin joined Baili Changhong’s Dragon-Slaying Operation and helped the cultivators trap three Mirage Dragons in the Black Sea.

• Ye Lin entered Giant City and witnessed Xu Xian’s wedding to Liu Shuangshuang, which the Myriad Dharma Buddhist Sect disrupted by accusing her of betraying the sect and controlling her into returning.
• Ye Lin sent out countless incarnations to search for his target, then confronted Tang Cheng and ordered him to find the man in a portrait.
• After Buddhist monks killed many of his incarnations, Ye Lin fought Myriad Forms, escaped Buddha Kingdom in the Palm with Grand Void Ashen Extinction Finger, and recovered in Giant City under Xu Xing’s protection.
• Tang Cheng located the target at Mo Xing Mountain, where Ye Lin captured the young man and brought him to Divine Mountain.
