Background / History

Fang Lin transmigrated from Earth and spent six years on the Douluo Continent before his martial-soul awakening. Raised through the Spirit Transmission Orphanage, he approached Spirit Awakening Day with a pragmatic plan to flee to a remote town if he received an unusable martial soul rather than gamble on a “protagonist halo.” 1

His Golden Dragon martial soul and innate full soul power immediately drew Han Tianyi’s attention. Fang Lin accepted Han Tianyi as his master, received welcoming gifts from Qiangu Dongfeng and Leng Yaozhu, and tested at an exceptional 280 spiritual power. 2

During a subsequent test, Fang Lin encountered and absorbed the Nine-Colored Origin Core. The event raised his spiritual power to 501, brought him into the Spirit Sea Realm, and evolved his martial soul from the Golden Dragon into the Golden Dragon King. Han Tianyi concealed the resulting aura and judged him to possess the potential of a deity. 3

Fang Lin selected the Golden Dragon Mastiff as his first spirit soul, subdued it through the Golden Dragon King’s bloodline pressure and his own will, then fused it into his first purple soul ring. 4 5 He later entered the Spirit Ascension Platform for combat training, where he defeated a God-Slaying Wind Baboon, a thousand-year Datura Snake, demon wolves, and their Demon Wolf King. At Han Tianyi’s direction, Fang Lin chose blacksmithing as his second profession. In Tiandou City, his metal-element control impressed Divine Craftsman Zhen Hua enough for Zhen Hua to accept him as his final disciple; Fang Lin then replicated Hundred-Refined forging after one demonstration. 7 18 20

At age six, Fang Lin is thin and of unremarkable height for his peers. His worn, faded clothing at the awakening ceremony indicated his orphanage upbringing, while his unusually clear eyes and calm bearing made him stand out. 1
