Background / History
Gu Yue later reveals that she split herself into two independent individuals: Gu Yue herself and Na'er. Na'er was integrated into human society to lurk within Shrek Academy, but she unexpectedly disappeared before Gu Yue found her again at the Spirit Transmission Pagoda 23.
After sensing Fang Lin's Golden Dragon King aura, Na'er deliberately feigned amnesia and allowed Fang Lin to take her in. Her plan let her remain openly at his side while avoiding suspicion and securing a legitimate place within the Spirit Transmission Pagoda 24.
Fang Lin found Na'er alone and hungry on a Shrek City street. She claimed not to remember her home or parents, accepted his offer to come with him, and immediately began calling him “Brother” 8. Han Tianyi found no official identity, birth, or household-registration record for her, but accepted her after discovering her innate full soul power and Silver Dragon Spear martial soul 9.
Appearance
Na'er appears as a delicate young girl with an unusually striking silver-and-violet color scheme. When Fang Lin first finds her, she is dirty and dressed in a torn little dress; after Liu Ruyan cleans her up, her porcelain-fair complexion and carefully combed hair become more apparent 8 10.
- Long silver hair, initially disheveled but naturally faintly luminous 8
- Clear violet eyes 8
- Petite build and an apparent age of five or six 8
- Delicate facial features and fair, rosy complexion 10
- Often described with puffed cheeks while eating 14 19 24
Personality
Na'er initially presents herself as timid, hungry, and dependent on Fang Lin. She hides behind him when confronted by Han Tianyi, is reluctant to leave him even briefly, and asks to live in the room next to his 9 10. Her later internal thoughts establish that this vulnerability was at least partly calculated: she knowingly used an amnesiac persona to stay close to Fang Lin 24.
She is affectionate and openly admiring toward Fang Lin, cheering for him during his Spirit Ascension Platform battle and seeking his attention after Gu Yue's arrival 13 22. Gu Yue's presence makes Na'er feel foreboding and sad, but this develops into stubborn competitiveness rather than retreat 22 24.
Food is a major source of Na'er's joy and motivation. She eagerly explores snack streets, enjoys rare meals, and keeps a private twenty-pound reserve of chicken cartilage while planning how to compete with Gu Yue 14 19 24.
