'The Finishing Shot'

Inside the cabin of the UH-1.

With the side doors closed, Sui Bian sat near the cockpit wearing noise-canceling headphones, his head turned to gaze out the window of the left door.

While gathering at the police station, he had already seen Jill Valentine and Barry Burton, the two members of STARS Alpha Team.

Sui Bian tried to use the system to scan them, only to discover that neither fell into the category of anomalous phenomena.

What baffled him most was that Jill, who performed so "insanely tough" in the games, was still classified as a normal human being...

One had to remember that in the Resident Evil 3 remake, Jill had literally blasted the Nemesis into smithereens with a railgun.

And that didn't count as an anomalous phenomenon?

At this thought, Sui Bian's brow furrowed, and he raised his left hand to scratch his hair.

It was confusing.

Forget it, he couldn't be bothered to dwell on it.

As for the protagonist of Resident Evil 0, Rebecca Chambers, she had not appeared in STARS Bravo Team.

Sui Bian remembered that Rebecca had only recently graduated from university and was scouted by STARS due to her exceptional grades in chemistry and biology; she was still in recruit training and wouldn't be transferred to Raccoon City until late June or early July.

Sui Bian was actually quite concerned about Rebecca.

It wasn't because the girl lacked combat prowess, but because she was a genius in academia; in Resident Evil: Vendetta, she was one of the authorities in the scientific community.

Having her join the Hive to perfect viruses, vaccines, and serums was the only way to maximize her value.

What Sui Bian wanted was not just controllable Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W.s), but to use serums and various viruses to create super-soldiers capable of crushing all manner of anomalous phenomena.

Of course, this was still just a concept in his mind.

"Approaching destination! Prepare for fast-roping!"

Suddenly, the pilot's warning came through the headset.

"Swish~!" (x2)

Hearing this, the Alpha Team members immediately opened the doors on both sides.

"Whoosh--~!" The noise from outside became much more pronounced.

Below lay a mountainous region covered in dense forest.

Looking further ahead toward the nose of the helicopter, one could see the Spencer Mansion, looking entirely out of place amidst the deep woods.

Before long.

The UH-1 carrying Sui Bian passed over the mansion, as did the other two UH-1s carrying STARS Bravo Team and the SWAT team, continuing toward the Training Facility not far away.

The remaining three helicopters circled above the mansion, maintaining distance from one another before hovering and deploying ropes.

The eight Alpha Team members, twenty SWAT officers, and five members of STARS Alpha Team in the cabin quickly rappelled to the ground.

Immediately after...

"Bang! Bang-bang-bang!"

"Awoo! Awoo..."

Intense gunfire and the frantic barking and howling of dogs echoed around the Spencer Mansion.

This time, the opening tragedy of Resident Evil 1 was not repeated.

Having learned the characteristics of the various B.O.W.s in advance, the team effectively and rapidly eliminated a large number of zombie dogs, with no casualties reported so far.

Moreover, the team was equipped with heavy weaponry this time, not just small-caliber pistols or submachine guns.

With the "joining" of Chris, Jill, and Barry, combined with the two Alpha teams familiar with the interior layout of the Spencer Mansion, they had enough firepower to sweep the area of B.O.W.s.

Sui Bian had also arrived over the Training Facility.

Circling, hovering, and beginning the descent.

The Alpha Team members sharing the UH-1 with Sui Bian skillfully and orderly used the ropes to fast-rope down.

Finally, only Sui Bian remained in the cabin.

He took off his headset, bent his waist to stand up from his seat, and walked to the left cabin door.

He looked down.

It was about twenty meters to the ground.

A few days ago at the Hive, he had learned many tactical maneuvers from Hunk and had conducted multiple fast-roping drills in the urban simulation trial zone on the third underground level.

Sui Bian then reached out to grab the rope, completing the descent with movements that were slightly unpracticed.

In truth, with his current physical fitness, he could have jumped from twenty meters without even suffering a sprain.

But Sui Bian didn't want to expose that to STARS and the SWAT team.

This time, his only purpose in accompanying the group into the mountains was to ensure the safety of Alpha Team.

Although Red Queen's analysis and his own deductions suggested that Alpha Team could eliminate James Marcus without a single casualty, he was still somewhat concerned.

After all, the USS were his "treasures," and he would be heartbroken to lose even one of them.

Returning to the present.

The moment Sui Bian touched down, Alpha Team, STARS-B Team, and the SWAT unit instantly formed a circular defensive perimeter around him, scanning their surroundings for any movement.

The three hovering UH-1 helicopters began to gain altitude, circling the Arklay Mountains area to provide support to the ground personnel at a moment's notice.

As the UH-1 formation moved away, the woods and the ground gradually returned to a state of calm.

The only sound remaining was the gunfire in the distance.

"Woof! Woof!"

Just then, the sound of barking, similar to that of large dogs, echoed from all directions.

Accompanied by the barking, a large number of Dobermans charged toward the perimeter from every side.

The skin of these Dobermans was festering, exposing bone and muscle tissue, their eyes a dull, milky white, much like the Cerberus of Greek mythology, save for the lack of three heads.

Zombie dogs.

However, unlike ordinary zombie dogs, these were inexpensive B.O.W.s developed by Umbrella, possessing greater physical strength and aggression, and were even capable of understanding simple commands.

Their code name was indeed Cerberus.

However...

"Open fire."

"Yes, sir."

"Bang-bang! Bang-bang-bang!" The sound of gunfire erupted.

"Pfft! Pfft! Splat!" followed by the sickening sounds of flesh being torn, shredded, and ripped apart.

Yet, even as B.O.W.-type zombie dogs, when faced with absolute suppression fire, their only fate was death—or rather, dying once more.

Within a minute, all the zombie dogs had been shot dead.

Seeing this, Hunk and his Alpha Team members left the perimeter and proceeded to put a bullet into the head of each zombie dog lying motionless on the ground.

Watching the Alpha Team members do this, the STARS-B Team and the SWAT members exchanged glances before joining in the cleanup.

On the very first day Sui Bian took over the Hive, he had repeatedly instructed Alpha and Omicron:

"When fighting non-humans—no, when fighting any enemy—always remember to double-tap! Do not lower your guard just because they have fallen to the ground!"

The USS were the elite of the elite, and naturally, they understood the good intentions behind Sui Bian's words, so every one of them strictly followed this instruction.

After confirming that all the zombie dogs were thoroughly dead, the group prepared to enter the Training Facility to eliminate the mutated staff inside, the escaped B.O.W.s, and James Marcus.
