Xeno.
The first Alien film was released in 1979 in the world where Sui Bian resided, titled Alien. While the English title simply meant "extraterrestrial," the Chinese translation, Yixing (Strange Form), was more fitting for the film's content.
The species was officially named "Xeno" in Aliens.
Born from a Facehugger and a human host, the Xeno possesses a pitch-black exoskeleton and slender limbs. Its head is smooth and lacks ocular organs, while the tip of its tail is tipped with a sharp bone spike.
This type of Xeno is known as a Drone or Warrior, occupying a low-to-mid tier within the species, serving essentially as workers or cannon fodder.
At this moment.
Perched above the stone pillar Chris was leaning against, a Drone Xeno lay in wait.
Initially, this Drone had intended to coordinate with two others to seize the perfect opportunity for a surprise attack on Chris and the other humans.
However, Celtic and Chopper struck at the humans first, causing the Drones to immediately abort their ambush and communicate via pheromones to revise their plan.
Ultimately, the Drones unanimously decided to let the humans and the Yautja fight it out, intending to catch both sides off guard and wipe them both out.
Suddenly!
Just as Chopper deactivated his optical camouflage, intending to rip out Chris's spine and skull while he was still alive, the Drone lurking above the pillar lunged with all its might, claws bared, and charged straight at Chopper.
Chopper, his attention entirely fixed on Chris, never expected an ambush from a Xeno. With a heavy thud, he was tackled to the ground by the Drone.
Before Chopper could even react, the Drone's maw was already pressed against his helmet.
"Squelch!"
"Splat!" Fluorescent green blood sprayed everywhere.
The inner jaw of the Xeno shot out, piercing straight through Chopper's mask and skull.
Dead as a doornail.
In the film, Chopper was a minor character, but in reality, no matter how incompetent he might have been, he had still traded blows with Chris. Yet, he could not escape his ultimate fate—
Dying first.
In fact, looking at it from another angle, if Chopper hadn't encountered Chris, he might not have died so early.
In a sense, Chopper had been cursed to death by Chris.
!!
Speaking of Chris, he stared in shock after seeing the pitch-black Drone instantly kill Chopper.
Even though he had mentally prepared himself, witnessing these two types of monsters—or perhaps, anomalous phenomena—at such close range still made his skin crawl.
With no time to overthink, Chris, having regained his composure, immediately gripped his rifle with his right hand, aimed at the Drone not far in front of him, and pulled the trigger without hesitation.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
"Squelch! Splat!" The bullets tore through the exoskeleton and soft tissue.
"Hiss! Hiss!" Acidic blood corroded the ground.
"Skreeee!" A sharp, piercing shriek erupted from the Xeno.
The Drone's exoskeleton was incredibly tough, sufficient to resist small-caliber human rounds, but no matter how hard it was, it was still part of their body.
Facing the MA5B, which fired high-velocity, full-metal-jacket armor-piercing rounds, the Drone's final outcome was inevitable death by gunfire.
"..."
Watching the Xeno's blood sizzle as a potent acid, just as Sui Bian had described, and glancing at Chopper lying beside the creature's corpse, Chris stood up with a grave expression.
A few months ago, he was just a "small-town" cop in Raccoon City.
Now, he was fighting anomalies classified by the Company.
These anomalies even included extraterrestrials...
If he told anyone, they would treat his experience as a joke; no one would dare believe him.
"ROAR!" Suddenly, a thunderous roar interrupted Chris's melancholy.
He turned his head toward the source of the sound.
He saw that Celtic, having slaughtered the remaining D-Class Personnel, was now under attack by two Drones.
However, the strong and sturdy Celtic was holding his own in a back-and-forth struggle against the two creatures.
As Celtic grabbed one Xeno by the tail and swung it wildly, then kicked the other charging creature away, he happened to witness Chopper being headshot by a Drone, followed by Chris killing that same Drone.
Having lost a teammate, Celtic was filled with rage. He no longer had the heart to toy with the Xenos and used all his strength to swing the creature in his grip against a stone wall.
With a crisp "Crunch!" the Xeno smashed against the wall and exploded.
"Hiss!" Acidic blood splattered everywhere, beginning to corrode everything it touched.
"Grrr."
Celtic let out a low, deeply dissatisfied growl. He glanced at Chris standing not far away, then turned and chased after the last Drone, which was attempting to flee.
It wasn't that Celtic was showing mercy to Chris; his primary objective was to eliminate the Xenos and complete his trial.
Seeing Celtic and the Drone disappear from view, Chris swapped in a fresh magazine and immediately scanned his surroundings with caution.
There were always three Yautja Youth, and since six D-Class Personnel had been left in the sacrificial chamber, it meant there were at least six Xenos.
After all, according to Sui Bian's warning, there was still a chance for the dying humans wrapped by Facehuggers to hatch into Xenos.
However, Chris did not detect any anomalies. Although he was unsure of the third Yautja Youth's whereabouts, he prepared to continue his mission.
He walked over to the corpse of Chopper, whose head had been blown off, and opened his radio to report: "Poseidon, this is Redfield. I am the only member of the temporary task force remaining, and I have engaged both the Xenos and the Yautja race.
I have currently discovered the corpse of one Yautja Youth and two Xeno corpses. Given the unique nature of the Xeno remains, I intend to first attempt to recover some of the Yautja equipment."
As he spoke, Chris knelt and bent over.
He removed Chopper's Wrist Computer, Wristblades, Smart Disc, Combi-Stick, mask, and everything else he could carry.
Although the left leg of his Mechanical Exoskeleton was somewhat damaged, it was nothing serious and could still be used; its load-bearing function was perfectly fine.
However, the Chris from the games, along with Leon, Claire, Jill, and the others, were all "mobile armories."
Sui Bian believed that even without the assistance of the Mechanical Exoskeleton, Chris would still find a way to carry this equipment.
Soon, Chris packed everything he could take into his bag, and the Red Queen, who had been acting as the communications officer on the bridge of the Poseidon, replied to Chris over the comms:
"Poseidon received. Also, Captain Redfield, please collect a tissue sample from the Yautja Youth's corpse."
"Understood." Chris nodded instinctively.
With his left hand, he took a small sealed container from the tactical pouch on his belt, and with his right hand, he drew a combat knife from the sheath on his lower leg.
Using the knife, he cut a piece of tissue from the gunshot wound on Chopper's left abdomen and placed it into the sealed container.
He tightened the lid.
He put away the knife.
He stood up and left.
The pyramid shifted its structure once again, forcing Chris into a new chamber.
And lying right there was the corpse of the third Yautja Youth.
