Sui Bian's gaze settled on a white USS in his forties, with dark brown hair and an unremarkable face.

This ordinary-looking, slightly overweight USS was none other than the legendary "Grim Reaper," Hunk.

Hunk's real name was just as ordinary: Hunkins Thomas.

Sui Bian guessed that the most reliable USS had chosen the callsign Hunk by picking the easy-to-pronounce "Hunk" out of "Hunkins."

[Anomalous phenomenon detected.]

Just as Sui Bian was secretly observing Hunk, the system suddenly spoke up in his mind:

This counts as an anomalous phenomenon? Sui Bian marveled inwardly.

Then again... weren't all the protagonists in the games anomalous phenomena?

Especially Leon and Chris.

One was "Leon the One-Man Wrecking Crew."

The other was "Chris the Death Machine."

Those two are definitely anomalous phenomena, Sui Bian declared with conviction.

By then,

the thirty-six USS in the warehouse had donned their body armor, tactical belts, packs, black masks, and Kevlar helmets, each with a pair of night-vision goggles mounted on top.

Their magazines were loaded with subsonic rounds, and suppressors had been fitted to their weapons. Only some of the USS's MP5 SDs didn't need a separate suppressor attachment.

The USS had hooked their signature gas masks, with their red-eyed "octopus heads," to their hips or lower backs.

Although the mission targeted only Birkin and Wesker, and they wouldn't have to face any bioweapon threats directly, they had prepared for every eventuality.

The thirty-six USS, equipped and armed, moved away from the table and gathered in front of the whiteboard, ready to begin the operation on Sui Bian's orders.

Hunk and the Omicron commander stood at the very front of the assembled USS.

With the clatter of loading magazines and adjusting weapons now gone, the warehouse fell silent.

You could hear a pin drop.

Seeing this,

Sui Bian raised his right fist to his mouth and cleared his throat.

"Cough."

He broke the somewhat "cold" atmosphere, paused for a moment, then deliberately spoke to the USS in a low voice:

"I've called you all to Raccoon City because I need the employees most loyal to the company to help me deal with two traitors who harbor ulterior motives."

As soon as Sui Bian finished speaking,

a large white screen began to descend from the warehouse ceiling behind him. Once it had fully unfurled, the warehouse lights went out one after another.

Immediately afterward,

the projector hanging in the middle of the warehouse "automatically" switched on, casting the necessary slides onto the screen and bringing light back to the darkened warehouse.

The slides showed portraits of William Birkin and Albert Wesker, along with brief information about the two.

A few seconds later,

the presentation changed to a blueprint and floor plan of the Hive beneath Raccoon City.

On the second-floor plan, a bedroom in the far southeast corner was clearly marked with a red circle.

A red arrow pointed to the room, its tail labeled "William Birkin" in bold red letters.

At this point,

Sui Bian continued in his deliberately official tone. "William Birkin, the director of the Hive facility in Raccoon City, has been confirmed to be conspiring in secret with Derek C. Simmons of the US Military.

"William Birkin and his wife and daughter, Annette Birkin and Sherry Birkin, are currently in their bedroom.

"To secure control of the Hive and protect the virus samples and data, I've already sent 'someone' to lock down the entire facility, restrict the movement of its personnel, and release sleeping gas."

As he spoke,

Sui Bian focused his gaze on Hunk. "Captain, I need you and your squad to drive into the Hive through the tunnel on the outskirts south of the city.

"Once inside, you and Alpha will have the highest access privileges. 'Someone' will assist you over communications so you can take control of all personnel as quickly as possible.

"One last thing: make sure the Birkin family stays safe.

"Move out."

"Yes, sir." Hunk replied without hesitation, turned, and led his squad out of the warehouse.

Earlier,

the "someone" Sui Bian had mentioned was Red Queen.

While showing the slides, she had also locked down the Hive and released the gas.

It was much like the Red Queen in the first Resident Evil movie, who released gas inside the Hive to prevent the T-Virus from escaping.

But Red Queen had used it to "put them to sleep," while the movie's Red Queen had used it to "kill them."

The Birkin family, whom Red Queen had been monitoring in secret, was now in a deep sleep. This had completely eliminated the possibility that William might become agitated by the G-Virus and end up shot by Alpha.

After Alpha Team left, the projector continued displaying information about Wesker for Omicron.

For instance, it showed his exceptional combat and marksmanship skills, as well as his extreme vigilance.

Next,

the slides displayed Wesker's address, the floor he lived on, and a detailed floor plan of his apartment.

Finally, a red circle marked the areas of the apartment where Wesker was most likely to move around.

Once the presentation was over, Sui Bian surveyed the assembled Omicron troops, his expression grave.

"Everyone, Albert Wesker is a subject in the company's classified project, the Wesker Project. But he has been conspiring in secret with outside forces.

"Given the nature of the target, I'll be joining you to make sure he's completely incapacitated and no longer a threat."

Wesker hadn't yet injected himself with the special virus Birkin had created for him, nor had he experienced his first fake death. For now, he still lacked his absurd abilities.

But...

He was Wesker.

One of the most formidable bosses in video game history.

To ensure nothing went wrong, Sui Bian had to take part in the operation himself. After all, on paper, his physical abilities were at the human limit.

"But..." Hearing this, the former Lieutenant Omicron commander hesitated. "Sir, wouldn't that be too dangerous for you? You only need to wait here. Omicron never makes mistakes."

The Lieutenant's words carried a deeper meaning:

You're a director. Don't get in our way. If even Omicron can't handle this, going there would just get you killed.

Sui Bian could, of course, read between the lines.

He merely gave a faint smile. "Don't worry. I won't be directly involved in the assault. Let's go."

With that, he headed for the warehouse exit.

"Yes, sir."

Seeing that Sui Bian remained determined, the Lieutenant could only give up trying to dissuade him. He nodded, then led his subordinates out of the warehouse after Sui Bian.
