This was the most densely forested region in Peru. Combined with the humidity, temperature, and all the other environmental factors, even the most advanced satellites could not capture a complete view of the area.

For that reason, the Zombie Dog was arguably the first... or rather, the first dog in modern times to discover this Inca City.

Following the Command Center's orders, the Zombie Dog leaped onto a thick branch of a short tree and looked down over the ruins of the Inca City, nestled in a basin-like clearing in the forest.

The city's outskirts were lined with stone towers of unclear purpose. Farther in, the remains of numerous structures resembling houses came into view.

The outer area was in ruins, and much of the damage did not look like the result of natural erosion. It seemed more as though the buildings had been deliberately destroyed.

Perhaps a war had taken place. Or perhaps something even more terrifying had happened.

Looking farther toward the city center, one could see more lavish, gilded buildings, their rooftops and edges adorned with gemstones of various colors.

When sunlight filtered through gaps in the dense forest and fell upon these buildings, they still gleamed with golden splendor. It was easy to imagine that this had once been a place where the rich and powerful lived and entertained themselves.

Perhaps the buildings in this area were sturdier, since they were not as badly damaged as those on the outskirts.

Farther toward the city's center stood an even more luxurious courtyard that covered a vast area. At its very center was an Inca-style pyramid.

This pyramid was about three times larger than those discovered and publicly announced by the Peruvian government.
