Background / History

Mu En serves as the Master of Shrek Academy's Sea God Pavilion while publicly residing at the academy dormitory entrance as a frail old gatekeeper. He first encounters Lin Shuo and Huo Yu'er when they register for their rooms, immediately recognizing the extraordinary nature of Lin Shuo's dragon-type martial soul. He later reassigns Wang Dong'er after her dispute with Lin Shuo, leaving Lin Shuo alone in Room 108. 9

When the Sea God Pavilion investigates Lin Shuo, Mu En reveals that Lin Shuo's martial soul causes even his Bright Sacred Dragon to feel fear. Rather than forcefully investigating the boy's background, Mu En orders Lin Shuo's information sealed and directs the academy to observe him discreetly while nurturing him through ordinary academy life. 12 13
