History
Dai Tianfeng orders the palace guards to stand down when Sword Douluo Chen Xin enters the Star Luo imperial palace. He explains to his son Dai Weisi that the guards cannot stop a Title Douluo of Chen Xin's strength, though he initially believes the political consequences of attacking an emperor will restrain the intruders 149. That calculation fails when Zhu Zhuyun, escorted by Ning Fengzhi, Chen Xin, and Gu Rong, brings Dai Mubai before the court. Dai Tianfeng demands an explanation after Ning Fengzhi strikes Dai Weisi, then tries unsuccessfully to stop Zhu Zhuyun from killing Dai Mubai 150 151.
Once Ning Fengzhi identifies Zhu Zhuyun as a divine envoy, Dai Tianfeng abandons his threats and attempts to treat her as family 152. Ning Fengzhi then delivers Lin Feng's demand: Dai Tianfeng must go to Maple Dye Pavilion and kowtow in apology for Dai Mubai's actions within three days, or someone of another surname will take the Star Luo throne 154. After learning that Dai Mubai insulted Zhu Zhuqing, also a divine envoy, Dai Tianfeng publicly desecrates his dead son's body in an attempt to distance the royal family from him. Meanwhile, Zhu Zhuyun's support emboldens her father, Zhu Chenfei, to covet the throne 155 156 157.
Dai Tianfeng travels to Maple Dye Pavilion ahead of his original schedule. On arrival, he is ignored and then beaten by Qian Daoliu after trying to push past him 213 214. Inside the restaurant, he kneels before Lin Feng and begs forgiveness. He later offers treasures, including two hundred-thousand-year soul bones, as compensation; Lin Feng gives the soul bones to Zhu Zhuyun and Zhu Zhuqing 215 217.
Dai Tianfeng subsequently draws the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record · Secret Techniques Chapter at the restaurant. Its techniques attract the attention of Spirit Hall and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, prompting him to propose a three-way arrangement rather than try to keep the reward to himself 231. On a later visit, a breakthrough takes him from Rank 89 to Rank 90. He ultimately draws the ninth soul ring he needs to become a Title Douluo 311 381.

Dai Tianfeng is politically calculating when he recognizes a threat he cannot meet by force: he stands down his guards before Chen Xin and rapidly changes his treatment of Zhu Zhuyun after learning her status 149 152. His pride is less controlled when his family or imperial authority is mocked.
