Background / History
Gui Mei was Yue Guan’s partner for decades. When other Spirit Hall elders mocked Yue Guan’s account of Lin Feng’s restaurant, Gui Mei followed him and said he believed him: Yue Guan might be unreliable, but he would not invent a claim like this 14. Gui Mei initially remained half-skeptical of the restaurant itself. Seeing Lin Feng enhance Xie Yue’s martial soul convinced him, and he became eager to order 15 16.
His first lucky draw awarded him the 80,000-year Hell Ghost Shadow Left Arm Bone. He subsequently helped bring other elders to Maple Dye Pavilion, showing Demon Bear Douluo the bone as proof of what the restaurant could offer 20 25 26 29. Later, a transformation restored the appearance he had lost after awakening his martial soul following his death in childhood. He knelt before Lin Feng in gratitude, while Yue Guan helped him to his feet 49 50.
Appearance
Before his restoration, Gui Mei was usually shrouded in black mist and ghostly energy, with a withered hand and a face he considered hideous. Afterward, he has a handsome face, deep eyes, and slender, strong hands 14 49 50.

Personality
Gui Mei is observant and loyal to those he trusts. He recognized the sincerity behind Yue Guan’s improbable story, then gave up a more suitable immortal herb to recover Yue Guan’s lost Extraordinary Velvet Chrysanthemum 14 23. He can also be forceful: he and Yue Guan beat a reluctant Demon Bear Douluo to bring him to the restaurant, then later caught Ghost Leopard Douluo for the same purpose 25 41.
His composure often gives way around Lin Feng’s rewards. He frantically pressed Yue Guan to order after witnessing Xie Yue’s enhancement and kowtowed upon receiving his soul bone 16 20. When Yue Guan risked his life to save the Blue Silver Emperor, Gui Mei’s fear turned to rage against Tang Hao 204.
