Lu Heng finished his upgrade and flew straight back to the Midtown Apartment.
He cooked himself a bowl of instant noodles and even added two eggs.
Simply luxurious.
He only realized halfway through eating.
"Wait a minute, I'm so rich now, why am I still eating these damn noodles!"
"I want to eat beef!"
"A large portion!"
Lu Heng flew straight out.
He used his Unobstructed X-Ray Vision to scan the building complexes throughout the neighborhood.
His range of transparency was about a dozen kilometers.
He saw a clandestine party being held in a high-end private bar.
In the apartment next door, a young couple pulled the curtains and started oh-oh-oh-oh-ing...
At a local university, a professor in a suit and leather shoes was hugging a hollow tree, engaging in some serious performance art.
Lu Heng silently deactivated his Unobstructed X-Ray Vision.
He felt like he was going to get styes in his eyes.
However, just as he was about to look for a high-end steakhouse, he suddenly spotted a few acquaintances.
His Super Hearing immediately expanded outward.
He captured a peculiar accent.
"...You better stay still, you fucker, or I'll snap your toes off one by one."
"Go ahead and snap! Can you even do it? Do you think my skin is the same as you ordinary people?"
Butcher! Translucent!
Translucent had actually been captured by Butcher; the plot hadn't changed one bit.
And by the looks of it, Butcher had no way to deal with Translucent right now.
Use the anal bomb, brother!
Lu Chen decided to give them a hand.
The Boys had several key characters, and he could farm a massive amount of experience from them.
An abandoned warehouse.
This place used to be a seafood processing plant, rented by Butcher to kill Translucent.
A chair sat in the middle of the warehouse.
Fragments of chains were scattered on the floor.
Inside the cage, Translucent was howling as he was being electrocuted, but those methods couldn't inflict any effective damage on him.
After Mother's Milk finished shocking him, Butcher took a crowbar and struck him on the head.
He hit him until the head of the crowbar bent and his own web of his hand bled from the impact.
"Fuck!"
Butcher cursed loudly.
Looking at this scene, anyone who didn't know better would think a Northern Myanmar gang was holding an event.
Buy one stick, get one free.
Log in and get 200 draws.
Frenchie crouched beside the toolbox with half a cigarette in his mouth, looking for a handy tool.
Hughie was completely unable to help, standing to the side like a bystander.
While The Boys were busy, the warehouse's iron door was opened.
The way it was opened was rather unique.
The man simply unhinged the entire door from its frame and leaned it gently against the wall.
He did it as casually as if he were setting aside a piece of scrap cardboard.
All four of them turned their heads at once.
"Fuck, Butcher! You said this place was safe, that it was impossible for any supe to come here!"
Mother's Milk cursed, but he didn't stop moving.
He drew his gun and fired, American-style quick-draw.
The bullets pattered against Lu Heng's chest, but he felt absolutely nothing.
This stuff couldn't even break his bio-field.
Not to mention that his physical defense was on a completely different level than a biological force field.
"Billy boy! The local gangs are quite rude, aren't they!"
Lu Heng picked at his ear, waiting for Mother's Milk to finish firing his bullets.
He lightly brushed off his clothes.
Then, he clapped his hands together with a sharp "crack."
The sound wave and air pressure generated by the force sent all four men flying backward.
He had used very little strength—very, very little—ensuring he wouldn't crush the four of them to death.
"Shit! What kind of power is that?"
Mother's Milk was the first to scramble up from the ground.
But before he could even run, Lu Heng grabbed him by the neck and lifted him into the air.
"Oi!"
Butcher stood up and shouted at Lu Heng, certain that the man had no malicious intent.
If he had truly wanted to kill them, the warehouse would already be flowing with blood.
"Look, I was just joking with you guys, why take it so seriously?"
Lu Heng gently set Mother's Milk back on the ground and even helped brush the dust off his shoulders.
Mother's Milk scrambled back a dozen steps in terror.
"How did you find this place?" Butcher held his crowbar, seeking a sense of security.
"Super hearing. You guys were making quite a racket."
Lu Heng looked around the room and spotted Translucent in the corner.
After gaining X-ray vision, he could see Translucent's internal organs.
"Translucent, stop hiding. I can see you."
"Quick, save me! Guardian!!"
Translucent thought Lu Heng had come to rescue him.
He immediately turned visible.
He thought he was safe.
"I have to say, you're the most pathetic one in The Seven. Even Starlight, who just joined, isn't as useless as you."
"Getting captured so easily by a few ordinary people."
"Tell me, aren't you just slapping us supes in the face?"
Lu Heng squatted down and began to mock Translucent.
The smile on Translucent's face froze.
He finally realized that Guardian wasn't there to save him at all.
"Guardian... what do you mean?"
"What do I mean?" Lu Heng laughed.
"You stole Vought's internal footage and ruined Homelander's press conference. Now the whole internet is calling you a traitor."
"And you actually dared to run?"
"Homelander has already issued a bounty on your head. It's worth millions of dollars on the black market now."
"Those black-hearted labs are even willing to pay a high price for your body to use in their experiments."
Translucent's expression turned to one of terror.
But soon.
He regained his previous arrogance.
"You can't kill me."
"Oh?"
"These losers have tried every method—crowbars, chainsaws, bullets, electric shocks. They haven't even scratched a single hair on me."
Translucent patted his own chest, looking extremely confident.
"My defense is not something a loser like A-Train can compare to."
"You, Guardian, can fly and fight, and you're even on par with Homelander."
"But you want to kill me? Eat shit!"
Translucent even stood up, leaving himself completely wide open.
He was currently naked, and since he wasn't invisible, the sight left everyone else looking stunned.
Hughie offered an ill-timed comment, "Honestly, I think he's smaller than mine."
Butcher shook his head and grinned.
"Boy! You're living in a man's world!"
"And we love nothing more than little bo..."
Halfway through his sentence, Mother's Milk and Frenchie both shot him strange looks.
"...You know that's not what I meant!"
Butcher hurriedly explained.
Translucent continued to act arrogant.
"Forget about you; not even the entire Seven, not even Homelander, could necessarily hurt me."
"That little bit of strength you have..."
"Alright, alright, why talk so much?"
Lu Heng interrupted him.
"I understand everything you just said. You think I can't cut you?"
"That's a fact, kid! Go back and drink some mother's milk!"
Mother's Milk: "..."
Translucent was so arrogant that he even stretched his neck out.
"Come on, chop right here. Use some force. Don't say I didn't give you a chance."
Lu Heng looked at the neck stretched out toward him and grinned.
Then he stood up and raised his right hand.
His fingers were pressed together, the edge of his palm facing outward.
Viltrumite Hand Chop.
Seeing this movement, Translucent laughed even louder.
"Are you serious? You think you're Superman or something!"
Butcher frowned from the side.
Everyone was staring at Lu Heng's right hand.
Could the Guardian have abilities they didn't know about?
The next second, they witnessed what it meant for brute force to create a miracle.
Lu Heng struck with extreme speed.
With only a faint sound, Translucent's mouth and neck parted ways.
Before he died, a smile was still plastered on his face.
The warehouse went dead silent.
Lu Heng shook his hand; not even a drop of blood had touched it.
Looking at Translucent's corpse, the cut was incredibly clean; the instantaneous heat generated by the high-speed friction had cauterized the cross-section.
"This defense is indeed quite strong."
Lu Chen nodded, deeply in agreement.
It didn't even shatter from a single hand chop.
If it had been an ordinary person, his palm wind alone would have pulverized them into meat paste.
"Uh, did he just one-shot Translucent from the Seven with a hand chop?" Hughie's mind went blank.
It was common knowledge that within the Seven, the only one who stood head and shoulders above the rest was Homelander.
But according to official data, even though Homelander crushed his other teammates, the gap wasn't this massive.
Even when cutting vegetables, there's still some resistance!
How could you cut Translucent so easily?
A layer of cold sweat seeped out from Butcher's back.
The numbers on the panel began to jump again.

Lu Heng crouched down, hoisted Translucent's headless corpse onto his shoulder with one hand, and carried it away.
"I'll be taking this, bad boys!"
Butcher snapped back to reality, completely bewildered.
"You're pinning the whole blame on Translucent? Is that why you had to kill him to silence him?"
"You only have your own underhanded methods to blame for that!"
Billy exhaled a cloud of smoke, showing zero self-awareness regarding his role as a liability.
"I trust you'll handle everything; after all, the enemy of my enemy is my friend!"
"But what are you going to do now? Go back and claim credit?"
"A supe as strong as you, actually content to act like a lapdog, wagging your tail and begging for scraps from Homelander?"
