Ning Xue After finishing speaking, he walked straight out.
Sasuke looked at his back and frowned slightly.
Ning Xue Something felt wrong from the beginning, as if he was suppressing something but never said it out loud.
After a brief silence, Sasuke still took steps to follow.
The two left the weapon shop one after another and walked through the dark and damp underground tunnel.
The sound of footsteps echoed in the narrow passage, which seemed particularly dull.
The streets outside are still dilapidated.
Broken walls, collapsed eaves, and dust raised by the wind gave this long-abandoned town a hint of depression.
Ning Xue never stopped.
Sasuke didn't ask again.
Until the two walked through several streets and finally came to a relatively complete rooftop of a high-rise building.
The night wind passed by, blowing the corners of their clothes.
"Why do you have to come so far to talk about it?"
Sasuke finally spoke, his tone still calm, but slightly more impatient.
Ning Xue did not answer immediately.
He just slowly turned on Byakugan.
The pure white pupils had slightly bulging veins, and his sight instantly penetrated the ruins at his feet and the surrounding rock walls, taking in everything nearby into his perception.
After confirming that there was no one else around, he slowly took back Byakugan and took off his mask.
Those white eyes without any impurities looked unusually quiet in the sunlight.
"You and I are from the same village. So there are some things I think you should know."
"But I hope you can calm down and listen to the end."
Sasuke stared at him and did not answer. The atmosphere became quiet and depressing for a while.
Ning Xue took a deep breath and spoke slowly.
"Do you remember that night Uchiha Clan Massacre?"
The air seemed to have cooled down instantly, and Sasuke's eyes suddenly turned cold. That was the last thing he wanted to be mentioned.
After a moment of silence, he spoke in a low voice.
"Why do you ask?"
"Answer me."
Ning Xue's voice is very calm.
Sasuke stared at him for a few seconds, as if he wanted to see something from that face.
But Ning Xue's expression never changed.
In the end, Sasuke slowly spoke.
"Remember."
His voice was a little hoarse, and his fists slowly clenched.
"This kind of thing... how could I forget."
Ning Xue nodded slightly.
"Then what did Itachi say to you then?"
Sasuke was a little confused, but still answered.
"He said... let me hate him, hate him, become like him, and then seek revenge from him."
When he said this, the hatred in Sasuke's eyes was barely concealed.
But Ning Xue just looked at him quietly.
After a while, he suddenly asked something completely beyond Sasuke's expectations.
"Don't you think it's strange?"
Sasuke frowned.
"What?"
Ning Xue looked at him, his voice was neither urgent nor slow.
"I hope you can look at this from another angle."
"Not as Uchiha Sasuke."
"But as a bystander."
Sasuke frowned deeper.
"What on earth do you want to say?"
Ning Xue did not answer directly.
He just said slowly.
"Uchiha Clan is one of the founding families of Konoha."
"Although the location is remote, it provides security for the entire village."
"In other words, it is one of the most heavily guarded places in Konoha."
When he said this, he paused for a moment.
Then he slowly raised his eyes.
"But your brother was only a teenager at the time."
"A teenage boy killed the entire Uchiha in one night."
"Hundreds of lives, men, old people, women, children... not a single one was spared."
"Do you really think this is reasonable?"
Sasuke's pupils contracted slightly.
"What do you mean?"
Ning Xue continued.
"Where is Anbu?"
"Where's the perception class?"
"Where's the patrol?"
"Why didn't anyone notice such a huge movement?"
"Why didn't anyone stop it until the genocide was over?"
His voice is always low.
But the calmer it is, the more impossible it is to ignore.
"No matter how strong Itachi is, he can't accomplish all this quietly."
"Unless--"
"Someone is helping him."
"Or maybe someone allowed this to happen."
The wind blew across the roof, but Sasuke's fingers tightened little by little.
"That's enough."
His voice was starting to get cold.
But Ning Xue didn't stop.
"Konoha High Command, do you really know nothing?"
"How could Itachi do such a thing as genocide without acquiescence?"
Sasuke's breathing was obviously messed up.
Because of these issues, he had never thought about them.
Or rather.
He never dared to think about it.
Ning Xue looked at him and continued to speak slowly.
"One more thing."
"Why didn't Itachi kill you?"
Sasuke suddenly raised his head and answered.
"He kept me alive for revenge--"
"That's just the reason he told you."
Ning Xue shook his head and interrupted him directly.
"But what if the person he really wants to protect is you?"
Sasuke's body was shocked.
Ning Xue's eyes are still calm.
"A man who exterminated his entire clan would leave his younger brother alone?"
"He even doesn't hesitate to stimulate you and force you to grow?"
"This itself is unreasonable."
"Unless, your survival is more important to him than silence."
Sasuke's breathing gradually became rapid.
In my mind, the memories of that night began to flood back.
blood.
Corpse.
Itachi's back standing in the darkness.
And that pair of scarlet Sharingan.
Ning Xue continued.
"And your father is Uchiha Clan Head, who is also the captain of the police force."
"Would such a person really die in the hands of his own son without any resistance?"
Sasuke's face changed slightly.
"Did you see it with your own eyes?"
In one sentence, Sasuke was completely stunned.
Ning Xue said slowly.
"What you saw was Itachi standing in front of the corpse."
"But you didn't see how they died."
"I haven't seen whether they resisted."
"Perhaps everything you see is just what he wants you to see."
Sasuke The picture in his mind began to shake violently.
Everything that night seemed to suddenly have cracks.
Itachi's eyes.
Parents' calm expressions.
And that kind of... too quiet death.
"Enough!"
Sasuke roared suddenly.
The voice was extremely hoarse.
"Why on earth are you telling me this?!"
Ning Xue was silent for a moment.
Then he sighed softly.
"Because I know."
"What has kept you alive all these years is hatred."
"You worked hard to become stronger, left Konoha, and chased power, all just to kill Itachi."
"But what if--"
When he said this, he paused slightly.
Then, he asked word for word.
"Do you hate the wrong person?"
Sasuke's pupils suddenly contracted and his heart skipped a beat. This was a bold idea that he had never thought of.
Ning Xue looked at him and continued.
"I don't know the truth, I don't know what happened that night, and I don't know if Itachi is the murderer."
"I don't know if Konoha's senior executives are involved."
He paused and added.
"But I know one thing."
"You are blinded by hatred."
"In all these years, you have never doubted what happened that night, and you have never thought that there might be something fishy in it."
"You just hate Itachi blindly and put all your energy into becoming stronger."
"But have you ever thought about it. If you hate the wrong person, if you kill the wrong person, what will you do then?"
