Background

Ye Lingling is the Ye Family's only young lady and the sole heir to the Nine-Heart Begonia. She attends Heaven Dou Royal Academy and serves as the Imperial Fighting Team's only support-type Spirit Master; her healing ability is regarded as indispensable to the team. Her reserved nature and limited combat ability leave her vulnerable, prompting Dugu Yan to ward off many of her suitors. 2 8 13

Her father abandoned Ye Qinru through deceitful means. Ye Qinru later killed him, an act that stained her own martial soul and became a long-hidden family secret. When Ye Lingling learns the truth, she is devastated, but ultimately chooses to stand beside her mother and face the family's past with Fang Xuan. 28 29

Hypno-shroom Incident and Engagement

Ye Lingling touches Fang Xuan's Hypno-shroom out of curiosity, causing both of them to enter a charmed state. Upon realizing what happened, she is shocked and distressed, but later accepts that she also bears responsibility. 1 3

Fang Xuan proposes marriage, revealing himself as an eighteen-year-old level 52 Spirit King. Though hesitant and embarrassed, Ye Lingling agrees, judging him to be a responsible and talented choice. 2 3

Acceptance by the Ye Family

Ye Lingling travels with Fang Xuan to Heaven Dou City to confront Ye Qinru. Fearful of abandonment because of her father's past actions, she asks Fang Xuan whether he will leave her; he swears by his martial soul that he will not. 13

When Ye Qinru initially refuses the marriage, Ye Lingling joins Fang Xuan in fasting while he kneels outside the Ye residence for seven days. Ye Qinru eventually accepts him, arranges their wedding, and establishes that Ye Lingling's future children must bear the Ye surname. 16 19

Martial Soul Evolution
