Background

The Asura God established Slaughter City as an inheritance ground and left three drops of his essence blood beneath its blood pool. The blood sustains the city's soul-skill-suppressing rules and allows him to observe everything within the site through his divine sense 361.

He initially regarded Jiang Chen as an anomaly: an eleven-year-old level 44 Soul Ancestor capable of approaching divine blood that even Titled Douluo would struggle to reach without soul skills. Jiang Chen's physique, which surpassed the Asura God's own at the same cultivation level, and the mysterious half-gold, half-black bead in Jiang Chen's dantian drew his interest 361 362.

After Jiang Chen absorbed two drops of his essence blood, the Asura God angrily confronted him but did not retaliate. Jiang Chen later asked to inherit his power, and the Asura God gradually chose him as a successor over Tang Chen, whose prolonged failure to pass his trials convinced him that Tang Chen lacked the destined opportunity for godhood 367 377 840.

When the High Priest's prophecy claimed Jiang Chen would destroy the God Realm, the Asura God opposed eliminating him solely on that basis. He continued supporting Jiang Chen, warning him that the God of Destruction and other gods might target him out of fear of his potential 847 856.

Despite this rigor, he becomes notably protective and possessive of Jiang Chen as his chosen inheritor. He intervenes when the Sea God's remnant consciousness attempts to intimidate Jiang Chen, guards Jiang Chen's secrets from other gods, and openly worries that other deities may try to claim him 763 824 835.
