Background / History

Spirit Hall’s Golden Generation

Hu Liena was raised “like a little princess” and became Bibi Dong’s disciple. Alongside her brother Xie Yue and Yan, she belonged to Spirit Hall’s Golden Generation 3 111.

She first approached Li Jiutian after witnessing his martial soul awakening. Her friendly introduction turned into a confrontation when Xie Yue objected to his dismissive response. Li Jiutian challenged their entire academy team to a match six years later, leaving Hu Liena astonished by his confidence and physical strength 3.

When he eventually enrolled at Spirit Hall Academy, she reminded him of the challenge. Although reluctant to provoke trouble, she still resented his earlier arrogance. Hu Liena and Xie Yue used their Demon Charm fusion against him, but his counterattacks and intervention to protect them from Yan’s attack changed her opinion of him. His offer of a draw helped turn their rivalry into friendship 12 13.

Academy Tournament

Hu Liena represented Spirit Hall Academy in the Continental Spirit Academy Elite Tournament. During the final against Shrek Academy, she fused with Xie Yue and confronted Tang San inside Demon Charm’s red mist 25.

Tang San’s Dragon Whisker Needles penetrated their armor and twisted inside their abdominal muscles, forcibly separating the fusion. Both siblings collapsed with severe injuries and could no longer fight. Spirit Hall nevertheless secured the championship through Li Jiutian’s subsequent performance 26 30.

Slaughter City and Hell Road

Bibi Dong sent Hu Liena and Li Jiutian to Slaughter City to obtain the God of Slaughter Domain. On their journey, Hu Liena asked what kind of girls he liked, then withdrew the question in embarrassment when he failed to hear her 31 32.

In Slaughter City, she proved effective at close-range killing but encountered a deliberately unfavorable lineup in her 99th match: two Soul Douluos protected four long-range Soul Saints. During their stay, she also accepted his invitation to become vice sect master of his planned sect and offered to bring Xie Yue and Yan into it 37.

Building the Heavenly Cloud Sect

Hu Liena oversaw the Heavenly Cloud Sect’s construction and rapid development during Li Jiutian’s absence. Working from his plans, she organized its facilities and a management structure of three halls and six departments. Hu Liena reported Yan’s declining commitment after the Finance Hall refused his request for a Nether Warhorse. Despite their friendship, she disclosed his behavior to Li Jiutian, while still hoping that Yan would recover from his resentment 105 106.

Acting as sect master’s proxy, she reclaimed Yan’s command token on Li Jiutian’s orders. His hostile response disappointed her, and she ordered someone to watch him after he left 107.
