Background and Founding

Li Jiutian named the sect during an inspection of its newly constructed compound, which initially occupied half a village. Its members adopted a sect-only salute: placing the right fist over the chest when greeting the sect master, signifying loyalty and faith. 63

The sect was built as Li Jiutian's private domain, with Hu Liena overseeing construction, procurement, inter-sect handovers, and daily administration. Lou Gao was responsible for much of its infrastructure and armament production. 64

Its intended core was an armored cavalry force capable of decapitation operations and covert raids. Li Jiutian imposed the Three Executions and Five Severances Order as the sect's military law and established an intensive training system for its soldiers and soul masters. 64 65 66

Obsidian Black Troops

The Obsidian Black Troops are the sect's inner sect and elite cavalry force. Their members receive the best cultivation conditions, generous treatment, and command directly from Li Jiutian rather than the ordinary chain of command. 95

Major Arcs

Establishment and Militarization

After its construction in Spirit City, the Heavenly Cloud Sect rapidly developed under Hu Liena's administration. Li Jiutian centralized its command structure, implemented harsh military law, and began training its recruits into a dedicated cavalry and soul-master force. 64 65 66

The sect announced its founding publicly one month later and quickly attracted prominent talents. Its scale and organizational structure were described as several times greater than Clear Sky Sect's, though it initially lacked a Titled Douluo. 93

Conflict with Shrek Academy and the Heaven Dou Empire

The Obsidian Black Troops participated in the destruction of Shrek Academy, while Four Element Academy subsequently aligned itself with the Heavenly Cloud Sect. 101

Yan's defection triggered an internal crisis when he spread rumors that Li Jiutian had died and that Hu Liena had orchestrated his death. The resulting chaos was used to lure a Heaven Dou force into attacking the sect, but Li Jiutian returned, exposed the scheme, and turned the invasion into an ambush. 109 110 111 112

The sect annihilated the invading force of 40,000 Heaven Dou soldiers and captured Liu Erlong. Li Jiutian later recruited her as deputy master of Strategy Hall, offering her the chance to restore the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's surviving members. 113 115

Gengxin City Retaliation

After Marshal Ge Long's army massacred Gengxin City and killed Chief Instructor Cheng Ku, Li Jiutian returned to the sect and ordered a full mobilization. Gengxin City provided ten million Gold Soul Coins in annual tax revenue and supplied sixty percent of the weapon-making materials used by Spirit Hall and the sect. 163

The Heavenly Cloud Sect defeated Ge Long's forces through an ambush and later fought to reclaim Gengxin City. Li Jiutian's intervention also saved Feng Xiaotian's group from Dugu Bo. 169

Sea God Island Invasion

To prevent Tang San from completing his Sea God inheritance, Li Jiutian ordered a four-pronged invasion of Sea God Island with 300,000 troops. 192

The sect breached the island from all four directions and destroyed Sea God Island, but suffered 160,000 casualties from its defenses and battle losses. 194 195 196

Jialing Pass Disaster

While evacuating civilians from Gengxin City, the sect's forces joined the wider battle at Jialing Pass. Tang San used the Sea God's Domain to create a thousand-meter tidal wave against more than 700,000 Heavenly Cloud Sect personnel and civilians. 209

The attack killed over 700,000 people and was described as annihilating the Heavenly Cloud Sect in an instant. Luo Zixuan later used a divine skill to resurrect nearly one million people. 210 216
