Who Was the Teacher?

Kakashi, standing nearby, looked equally grim.

"Well... We came at the Hokage's behest to invite your master to complete a mission."

"It's the village's request. It'll be a lot of trouble if you refuse."

Deidara looked impatient. He thought these people were just getting in the way of his learning art from Uchiha Sora!

Still, he understood that he was at least half a member of Konoha now.

Out of respect for the village, he could only nod.

"Come on in, then!"

And so, everyone followed Deidara into the courtyard.

The moment they entered, they were all dumbfounded.

Uchiha Sora's courtyard was a complete wreck.

There was a huge crater right in front of them, with a little water left in it. There was no doubt it had once been a pond, but now it had been blown apart, leaving barely a drop of water.

Farther away stood an oddly shaped rock garden. Its entire surface was riddled with holes.

There was no doubt these weren't part of its design. It looked like someone had swept it with gunfire.

They could also see a series of craters in the ground nearby, spaced close together, as if a whole bunch of Explosive Tags had gone off on the spot.

But those were actually the handiwork of grenades.

The destruction alone was enough to leave Kakashi and the others stunned.

What really left them dumbfounded, though, was Uchiha Sora, standing nearby with a metal-shining Gatling Gun nearly a meter long slung over his shoulder.

The Gatling Gun was still spinning, and smoke was still coming out of its barrel.

Uchiha Sora turned to look at them.

"Ah, it's you two! Sorry we didn't come out to greet you. Come on, sit down and have some tea!"

As he spoke, Uchiha Sora casually rested the Gatling Gun on his shoulder.

Sasuke, standing beside him, set down the AK-47 in his hands and ran back into the house to fetch the tea set.

Deidara reluctantly tucked the belt lined with hand grenades back into his arms.

Kakashi stared at the scene, dumbfounded.

How the hell was this the Uchiha clan compound? It was an armory!

The weapons were all bizarre and unlike anything they'd ever seen, but just their appearance was frightening enough. They clearly weren't to be taken lightly!

"Sora! We're not here for tea, so don't go to any trouble. We're here to ask you to take part in a village mission. Besides, you're grown up now, and you need a teacher. How about—"

Jiraiya was being so polite, you'd think he was the one asking to become a student.

But before he could finish, Deidara glared at him.

"Bullshit! My master doesn't need a teacher. With his artistic techniques, you lot aren't even qualified!"

Jiraiya looked troubled, but that did seem to be the truth!

Uchiha Sora could grow such terrifying mushrooms. It was only natural that he didn't need a teacher.

Kakashi, standing to the side, still wasn't willing to give up.

"Um... Sora may be highly skilled in certain areas, but learning ninjutsu and mastering standard combat are the fundamentals of being a ninja."

Before he could finish, Sasuke came over carrying tea and said,

"Big brother! Didn't you say you'd awakened an evolved Sharingan? Why don't you show me?"

Everyone fell silent.

Kakashi and Jiraiya exchanged a glance, both thinking, Is this guy really that monstrous?

Not only had he invented all kinds of powerful tools, he'd even evolved his Sharingan?

The evolution of the Uchiha clan's Sharingan was a secret, but Kakashi and Jiraiya were both high-ranking members of Konoha, so they knew the details.

From the lowest level, with one Tomoe, to the highest, with three Tomoe, that was the full growth path of the Uchiha.

But that was only the beginning.

Once they reached the highest level of three Tomoe, they already had plenty of powerful abilities, such as seeing through genjutsu, slowing down movements, and copying ninjutsu.

But more advanced visual techniques, like Amaterasu and Susanoo, required further evolutions to learn.

In other words, the three Tomoe were just the starting point. What mattered was whether they could learn those abilities afterward.

And among the entire Uchiha clan, not many had unlocked those next few monstrous abilities.

Shisui had been one of them, but he was dead now.

Itachi Uchiha was another, and he was even more of a genius, having unlocked more abilities.

But he had betrayed the village.

And now there was this kid. How old was he? From the looks of it, he seemed close to surpassing Shisui at the same age.

For a moment, the two men said nothing. Instead, they found themselves just as eager to see.

Uchiha Sora, however, didn't think much of it.

To be honest, he hadn't checked the system's notification after receiving the reward, so he hadn't realized his eyes had evolved.

But Uchiha Sora also knew that without some special constitution, using the Sharingan's powerful techniques carelessly could easily backfire.

Take Kotoamatsukami, for example. Using it even once came at the cost of permanent blindness.

Unless you were an Impure World Reincarnation.

But that wasn't going to happen anytime soon.

So Uchiha Sora hadn't paid much attention to it and only checked now.

"It's actually... Kamui?"

Uchiha Sora was surprised. Kamui was one of the Sharingan's advanced abilities.

It was like a miniature black hole.

When used, it could create something that swallowed anything within the range of its user's gaze.

According to the original story, if a powerful person used it, they could even teleport a Tailed Beast Bomb away on the spot!

It was also quite useful for attacking.

More importantly, Kamui had the lowest cost of all the powerful techniques.

It didn't consume his life force. It only made his eyes bleed when he used it.

For Uchiha Sora, that was nothing.

So Uchiha Sora's eyes quickly changed. He blinked at a rock in front of him!

In an instant, as everyone watched in astonishment, a black dot appeared.

It was the size of a pinhole, but it had a terrifying, even lethal, pulling force.

In the blink of an eye, the rock had a neat, circular hole through it!

Everyone present was even more shocked by the sight.

"That's Kamui... I have it too, but it's an ability that comes with the eye. Still, how old is Uchiha Sora?"

Kakashi was probably the person who understood the Uchiha best, apart from the two brothers themselves.

He had Shisui's eye and could use some of the Sharingan's abilities.

Kamui was one of them.

Kakashi had experienced it firsthand, and to his astonishment, he realized that his own Kamui seemed weaker than Uchiha Sora's!

Beside him, Jiraiya's eyes were wide as saucers.

"Good grief! What did this kid grow up eating? Why does it feel like another monster's about to appear in the Ninja World?"

Jiraiya also knew about the Sharingan. He understood that Uchiha Sora unlocking Kamui in such a short time was like him learning the Rasengan as a child.

It might even have been several hundred times harder.
