You're Too Impulsive

Naruto stood there with a dazed look on his face.

Sasuke knew right away that there was no point in saying anything to him.

"What a hopeless idiot..."

With a sigh, Sasuke turned his attention back to the two ill-mannered brats.

The moment the two brats saw Sasuke's gaze sweep over them, they understood that Naruto had been too afraid to act because of the rules.

But this lunatic Sasuke actually dared to break the rules and attack them himself!

Seeing this, the taller one hurriedly pointed at Sasuke and shouted in panic:

"S-Sasuke, Konoha has rules! You can't attack your f-fellow teammates!..."

Hearing this, Sasuke laughed.

"You have some nerve. You two pieces of trash don't deserve to be my teammates!..."

Before he had even finished speaking, Sasuke flicked his wrist.

In the blink of an eye, several dark streaks shot toward the ground beside the two of them like shooting stars!

They were Shuriken, their blades gleaming coldly and razor-sharp.

"This lunatic is trying to kill us!"

That was what the two brats were thinking.

They wanted to retreat safely, just as they had moved their feet off Naruto's chest earlier.

But time seemed to have stopped. They couldn't move at all; all they could do was watch as the dark streaks grew larger and larger in their eyes, accompanied by the sharp hiss of cutting air.

"It's over. We're dead..."

The two of them thought with a sigh.

But just then—

A flash of white suddenly streaked across the air.

Before anyone could make sense of what had just happened—

Several metallic clangs rang out.

A silver-haired man wearing a mask suddenly appeared, standing in front of the two brats, who had nearly wet themselves in fright.

"K-Kakashi-sensei!..."

Naruto and Sakura both cried out in surprise the moment they saw him.

"Teacher?..."

The two brats, hiding behind Kakashi, heard Naruto and Sakura address the man and immediately brightened.

They knew they'd be fine now!

Sasuke could disregard Konoha's rules because he was young.

But a teacher at the Ninja Academy would never stand by and do nothing.

Ignoring Naruto and Sakura's cries, Kakashi looked up at Sasuke in the tree and spoke in a stern tone:

"Sasuke, you went too far this time..."

It was impolite to speak to one's teacher from above.

Seeing this, Sasuke leaped down and replied without the slightest change in expression:

"Sensei, you know that if I'd really wanted to go all out against them just now, I wouldn't have aimed at the ground. I would've aimed at them."

Kakashi had thought Sasuke would admit his mistake, and that would be the end of it.

After all, attacking one's teammates could be treated as a serious matter or a minor one.

There were no real punishments for it in Konoha.

But if the offense was serious, it might end up on the Third Hokage's record, which would certainly affect Sasuke's future as a ninja.

But Kakashi hadn't expected Sasuke to be so stubborn, acting as though he wouldn't hear a word of it.

Thinking of this, Kakashi furrowed his brow slightly. His tone shifted, and he replied with some displeasure:

"I mean that what you did was too reckless."

"If you have a disagreement, you can tell your teacher. We'll hear both sides and decide who's right. You shouldn't be walking this close to the edge of Konoha's rules..."

Sasuke sneered, then pointed at Naruto.

"Those two brats stepped on Naruto's face when his chakra was running low and acted all high and mighty. Wasn't that reckless too?..."

"What!..."

At those words, Kakashi's visible eye suddenly narrowed.

Then he glanced at Naruto and Sakura's expressions, and his heart tightened.

So this hadn't been Sasuke's fault at all. Compared with him, the two brats behind Kakashi had behaved far worse!

He was furious.

But Kakashi forced himself to suppress his anger within two and a half seconds.

Rules! Rules! How had his father died? Why had he been driven to take his own life in shame?

Wasn't it because he hadn't followed Konoha's established rules?

His fists clenched, his expression shifting again and again. Finally, he took a deep breath and turned slightly toward the two brats behind him, speaking coldly:

"You two can leave. I guarantee Sasuke won't bother you. In return, don't go looking for trouble with him afterward."

The two brats weren't fools. They immediately understood what Kakashi meant and nodded repeatedly.

At the same time, they realized that Kakashi was worried they would go home and tell on him.

If this got blown out of proportion, it might affect Sasuke's future.

With that in mind, one of them lifted his chin before leaving and used Kakashi's words as a threat, speaking aggressively to Sasuke, who stood not far away:

"So don't even think about secretly getting back at us. If anything happens, my dad won't let you get away with it!..."

His tone was arrogant, and his expression was about as punchable as could be.

Seeing this, Sasuke's hot temper wouldn't let him take it the way Naruto would.

"Is that so?..."

The corner of his mouth lifted slightly as he snorted.

He raised his right hand. Poof! A cloud of white smoke burst into the air.

In the next instant—

The Sword of Indra appeared in his hand!

Sasuke gripped it in his fist and swung hard!

Bang!

The pair of trash cans beside the walkway were instantly sliced in half!

With his sword angled toward the ground, Sasuke swept his icy gaze over them and spoke in a chilling tone:

"Look at those trash cans. Don't they look just like the two of you?"

"You won't let me get away with it?"

Goosebumps covered them from head to toe. The shorter one immediately lost his nerve:

"S-Sasuke, we may have talked about you behind your back before, but we apologized! What more do you want?..."

His voice trembled. He was obviously only pretending to be calm.

Seeing that the two little brats didn't even mention how they had humiliated Naruto by stepping on his face, Sasuke refused to let them off the hook. He sneered and said coldly:

"Some things happened, whether you admit it or not."

"An apology? Heh..."

"How about I kill you, then apologize at your graves next year? How does that sound?..."

"K-Kill us..."

The two brats hadn't heard a word of what else Sasuke said. All they heard was that he was going to kill them.

They hurriedly ran off in tears, leaving behind two lines of urine like brushstrokes, with a stench that filled the air...

"Hey... The client has already reached an agreement with the Third Hokage. We'll meet here tomorrow and head out on your first mission..."

With that, Kakashi sighed. He gave Sasuke a meaningful look but said nothing more. His figure blurred.

A few leaps later, he had vanished from the sight of the three members of Team 7.

"A mission in the Land of Waves? Zabuza? Is that man finally coming?..."

Sasuke looked up at the sky and murmured to himself.
