Late at night
After getting everything ready, Li Yu activated Flying Thunder God.
Outside Konoha, a Special Kunai was stuck in the ground in an uninhabited spot.
Space rippled, and Li Yu appeared right beside it.
He used the Transformation Technique to disguise himself as an Iwagakure ninja, then headed straight for Shimura Danzō's home.
He sensed the area with Wood Release and found that no one was home.
"Is no one from the Shimura Clan home?"
"That old fox is pretty cautious."
Li Yu turned and headed for the secret Root base. As the Anbu deputy chief, he knew where it was.
He easily evaded the Anbu Ninja patrolling the village and reached a forest outside it, where Root's base was hidden. Without another word,
he charged straight toward the entrance.
"Who goes there? Stop!"
"Whoosh, whoosh!" Li Yu threw a Specialized Kunai.
He activated Flying Thunder God and appeared beside the Root guards, kicking both of them away.
At the entrance, Li Yu faced the doors and struck them with Strength of a Hundred. One punch sent splinters flying everywhere.
He strode into Root, unhurried. Putting away his kunai, he clasped his hands behind his back and slowly walked to the center.
Ignoring the Root Ninja closing in around him, he shouted,
"Shimura Danzō, get out here!"
"Danzō-sama isn't someone you can summon at will!"
"Who are you? How dare you break into Konoha's Root!"
By then, the Root Ninja had gathered in force. They all hurled the shuriken and kunai in their hands, many of the kunai carrying Explosive Tags.
Out of the corner of his eye, Li Yu spotted Danzō hiding in a shadowy corner, surrounded by several Root Ninja. He wasn't making a move.
Li Yu's lips curled into a strange smile.
"I knew you were a devious old fox. You're every bit the Danzō I expected."
Even with all these Root Ninja out here, he didn't dare show himself. He was still hiding nearby, watching his opponent.
Li Yu mechanically used his kunai to knock aside the incoming kunai and shuriken. Several kunai exploded in midair.
Boom! Boom! One blast after another filled the area with smoke.
In the instant everyone's attention was fixed on the explosions in the center,
"Earth Release: Headhunter Jutsu!"
A hand reached up from the ground beneath Danzō's feet and grabbed his ankle.
It dragged Danzō straight underground, emerging with him in an uninhabited area outside the village that Li Yu had picked out beforehand.
Danzō's eyes widened in alarm. "Flying Raijin Jutsu!"
Li Yu bent down to pick up the kunai on the ground and dispelled his Transformation Technique. He had no intention of hiding his identity from Danzō.
"Zi Yu, it's you!"
When Danzō saw Li Yu wearing a mask, his expression darkened.
"What are you going to do?"
Danzō backed away several steps and shouted, trying to sound more threatening than he felt.
"You're Nawaki of the Senju Clan, Tsunade's little brother. What exactly do you want?"
"That's right."
As a member of Konoha's High Command, Danzō knew Li Yu's identity. That was hardly surprising.
"Danzō, I'll ask you one thing. Were those two people who ambushed me during that S-rank mission in Takigakure last time from your Root?"
"Yes. They were from Root. And I was the one who gave your intel to the other three ninja villages."
Danzō's answer caught Li Yu off guard.
He hadn't expected Danzō to be a man of his word. Even now, he had no intention of hiding the truth.
"Perfect!"
"Wind Release: Vacuum Bullets!"
Danzō took a deep breath and fired a barrage of invisible air bullets from his mouth.
Li Yu reacted just as quickly. He activated his Sharingan and easily dodged the volley.
As he dodged, Li Yu thought, Danzō really is an old fox. He admitted it on purpose and revealed the truth to provoke an emotional reaction.
He seized the initiative and struck first. I have to give him credit for that move.
Since that's the case, I might as well copy a few jutsu. Danzō went to all this trouble, after all.
When Danzō saw that he'd missed, he formed another set of Hand Seals.
"Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere!"
Danzō took another deep breath. A huge ball of air gathered, then rushed toward Li Yu before he could regain his footing.
Seeing that he still hadn't hit Li Yu at all, Danzō unwillingly formed another set of Hand Seals.
"Wind Release: Vacuum Serial Waves!"
The wind came in multiple waves. Danzō swung his head erratically as the ripples spread out, lashing at Li Yu like whips.
Seeing that Danzō was out of tricks and the timing was right, Li Yu's clone at home burst apart. He instantly entered Sage Mode.
A smug smile appeared on his face. Even when a lion hunts a rabbit, it uses all its strength. Danzō, I'll finish you in one go.
"Sage Art: Big Ball Rasengan!"
Blue light blazed in his right hand. He charged straight at Danzō, meeting the incoming Wind Release Ninjutsu head-on.
Danzō still held his Hand Seals, eyes bulging.
Li Yu's Rasengan had clashed with his Vacuum Serial Waves for a moment before barreling toward him. Danzō's leg twitched.
He leapt into the air, spun 180 degrees, and tried to run.
Danzō had only just landed when an enormous force slammed into his back, driving him face-first into the ground.
Riding the momentum, Li Yu planted a foot on Danzō and skated along his back like he was riding a skateboard.
Poor Danzō hit the ground hard. With Li Yu's foot on his back, he slid several meters forward.
He screamed, "Aaaah!" Then a mouthful of dirt clogged his mouth, turning the cries into muffled "Mmmph! Mmmph!"
Li Yu didn't hold back. He used Danzō as a springboard to leap up on the spot. "Let me show you the Strength of a Hundred passed down through my family!"
He punched Danzō in the back. His body arched like a bow, head and feet snapping upward as a vast area of ground crumbled into rubble. A huge web of cracks spread out.
Boom!
Danzō spat out a mouthful of blood, his face twisting into a grimace. A punch infused with sage chakra was no joke.
In the original story, Pain flattened Konoha with one Shinra Tensei. Naruto arrived in Sage Mode, moving incredibly fast, and took out the Asura Path with a single punch.
Just as expected, Danzō passed out. Li Yu rolled him onto his back, pulled the bandages from his head, pried open his right eye, and dug out a red, four-pointed windmill Sharingan.
"It's a Mangekyo. It looks a lot like Shisui's."
"It probably isn't Shisui's. Judging by the timing, it must belong to his father, Kagami Uchiha."
"Danzō, you really did kill your own teammate. Kagami Uchiha had saved your life more than once."
Li Yu carefully put the eye in the liquid inside a prepared test tube. Having collected a little interest, he hopped back with satisfaction and put some distance between them.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
Flames engulfed the unconscious Danzō, burning him until only a skeleton remained. Li Yu activated Flying Thunder God and returned home.
