Background / History
The Uchiha are one of Konoha’s two founding families and possess exceptional standing and military strength within the village 1. Their relationship with Konoha deteriorated after the Nine-Tails incident, in which the beast was controlled by a Mangekyō Sharingan; this branded the clan with lasting suspicion despite no confirmed proof of collective guilt 1 21.
Konoha ordered the clan to relocate from its historic grounds to an area near the village perimeter. The move was perceived by many clansmen as humiliation and an effort to isolate them from Konoha’s center of power, intensifying resentment toward the village leadership 2 4.
Under Fugaku Uchiha, the clan gradually shifted from isolation toward political maneuvering and public-facing cooperation. It purged Anbu and Root infiltrators from its compound, exposed Root activity, accepted major village missions, and sought stronger ties with other clans 35 56 112. Its protection of the Daimyo and Konoha civilians further improved the villagers’ view of the clan 121.
By Chapter 239, the Uchiha had returned to their original compound in Konoha’s central district 239. During the later succession crisis, Fugaku secured support from several clan heads for a leadership change and Tsunade’s candidacy 244. Under Tsunade’s Hokage administration, the clan remains regarded as Konoha’s strongest family 308.

- The clan treats the loss and outside use of Sharingan as a major security threat and has historically pursued outsiders who obtained its eyes 81.
