Background
Origins
Muye Mountain is the ancestral land of the Mu Family and takes its name from the clan’s old ancestor. The family’s foundational inheritance is the Wood Spirit Body Cultivation Technique, a High-grade Spirit Tier cultivation method associated with the Foundation Establishment realm 2.
The family’s founding ancestor cultivated this technique to Half-step Golden Core and relied on the Wood Spirit Jade Body Armor to establish an unmatched defense in Jinzhou County. He seized resources from rival families and conquered Muye Mountain, allowing the Mu Family to become one of Jinzhou County’s three leading families within several centuries 64.
Early Structure
At the beginning of the story, the Mu Family is a Foundation Establishment-stage clan. Its main branch includes Mu Xingqi’s father, Mu Shengtian, as clan leader; his mother, Lin Qinghua, as the Pill Hall’s sole alchemist; and his grandfather as a Foundation Establishment ancestor 1.
The family’s central meeting place is Muye Hall. Its elder system oversees the Elder Hall, Punishment Hall, Scripture Pavilion, Internal Affairs Hall, External Affairs Hall, Finance Hall, and Pill Hall 20.
Recurrent Threats
Several simulated futures depict the family’s destruction. In one, the Wang Family attacks Muye Mountain after the Mu ancestor returns severely injured; the family’s formation is breached, and numerous members—including Mu Xingqi’s parents—die defending the clan 8 10. In another, the mysterious Sky-Filling Blood Palm annihilates the family’s elders, main-branch disciples, and Mu Xingqi himself 16.
These disasters motivate Mu Xingqi to strengthen the clan through cultivation, intelligence gathering, commerce, alliances, and preemptive action. The Mu Family later joins the Zhang Family in eliminating the Wang Family, seizing its businesses and resources 52.

Economy and Holdings
Pill Industry
Alchemy is the Mu Family’s original principal industry. Its early Jinzhou County operations include two pill shops and one pharmacy, selling unranked Healing Powder and Yellow Grade Low Rank Qi Gathering Pills 40.
The clan cultivates Gold Injury Leaf, Qi Gathering Grass, and Clear Spirit Tea. Gold Injury Leaf is used in Healing Powder, Qi Gathering Grass in Qi Gathering Pills, and Clear Spirit Tea is sold as spiritual medicine 40.
Mu Xingqi later reorganizes the family’s commercial branches:
- Yipin Pavilion — low-end market; primarily sells Healing Powder.
- Youpin Xuan — mid- and high-end market; primarily sells Qi Gathering Pills.
- Wangyu Tower — tea sales and intelligence trading. 46
The Pill Hall becomes a major source of the clan’s rise. Mu Xingqi, Lin Qinghua, and Mu Xinger refine increasingly high-grade pills, accelerating the cultivation of elders and younger generations 130 181.
Commercial Expansion
Following the Wang Family’s fall, the Mu Family absorbs its businesses and gains additional spirit-field resources through its relationship with the Zhang Family 52. It expands into Qinghe and Chisong Counties, then throughout Lin Commandery 60 106.
A formal agreement with the Myriad Treasure Tower gives the family dedicated sales areas, priority access and discounts for high-quality spiritual medicines, and an auction channel for Mu-produced pills 181. Its industries later spread throughout Great Qing and eventually across most of the continent 173 247.
Secret Realm Medicine Garden
Mu Xingqi contracts Xiao Meng, the spirit of a Secret Realm, and becomes the realm’s master. In exchange for regular spiritual medicines, Xiao Meng manages the realm for him 184.
The Mu Family develops the Secret Realm into a spiritual medicine garden and obtains the Heaven Mending Art from within it 184.
