Background / History

Li Ruilin was one of five Li Family survivors brought into the Mu Family after the Li Family's annihilation. As he had not awakened a Spiritual Root, Mu Xingqi kept the nine-year-old by his side rather than assigning him to a family hall. Initially timid and prone to hiding behind Mu Xingqi, he gradually became attached to him and began following him closely. 73

After seeing Mu Xingqi practice every morning, Li Ruilin asked to learn swordplay. He proved serious and diligent in practice, and Mu Xingqi began teaching him regularly while arranging body-refinement medicinal baths to strengthen his physique. The training and exposure to family affairs gradually made him less timid and more cheerful. 80 89 92 105

During a Spiritual Root aptitude test, Li Ruilin's awakening erupted into a dangerous sword aura. His Sword Body was so powerful that his weak body risked exploding; Xiao Wenming, the Dragon Abyss Sword Master, offered to suppress it by taking him to the Green Lotus Sword Sect as a personal disciple. Mu Xingqi and Li Qingyun accepted for his safety. 84 85
