Otherwise, sending subordinates to investigate would probably take more than ten minutes.
"Stella, High Priestess Dagmar, the gate at the rear of Withered Bone Fortress is being attacked from within," Nalant explained at once, without wasting words.
"What? The gate is under attack from the inside? How is that possible? The city is full of our allied forces from the divine kingdoms. It's impossible for Beastfolk to have gotten in!" Dagmar found it hard to believe.
After entering the fortress, they had conducted a carpet-style search of the entire Withered Bone Fortress.
After all, when the Beastfolk retreated in defeat, quite a few Beastfolk left behind to cover the retreat had hidden in every corner of the fortress.
To avoid any danger, and because they were only occupying Withered Bone Fortress temporarily, they did not care in the least whether the fortress was damaged.
Thus, whenever there was a building where someone might be hiding, they dug three feet into the ground.
The walls had not even been breached yet, so where could Beastfolk have come from?
