Background / History
The Evil Emperor was originally the Evil Eye Tyrant Sovereign of the Evil Demon Forest on the Sun Moon Continent, an Evil Eye clan Spirit Beast with nearly eight hundred thousand years of cultivation. Seeking the Sky Dream Ice Worm to break through the million-year bottleneck and ascend to godhood, he fought Di Tian on the Douluo Continent. Although his Light of Time and Space severely wounded Di Tian, the Evil Emperor was left critically wounded and attempted to return home to recuperate. 1
While fleeing, he sensed Luo Chen’s spiritually and space-time-attributed Gulu Ball Martial Soul. Believing Luo Chen’s body and Martial Soul were compatible with him, he chose to possess the boy and potentially seize the Martial Soul for himself. Luo Chen instead deceived him with a King Ball, whose capture effect succeeded because the Evil Emperor was injured. 1
Inside the King Ball, his cultivation was almost entirely sealed. Luo Chen absorbed part of the Emperor’s power to form his first spirit ring and kept him confined as both a source of power and a contracted spirit beast. The Evil Emperor initially retained a hidden external soul-bone-related contingency and repeatedly searched for opportunities to possess Luo Chen, but the King Ball prevented his escape. 1 2 16
After Luo Chen’s decade-long isolation in the Temple of Time, the Evil Emperor’s resistance finally gave way to acceptance. He admitted defeat after recognizing Luo Chen’s greatly increased spiritual power and agreed to help refine his concealed Evil Eye soul bone into Luo Chen’s second Martial Soul. His remaining ambition became reaching the God Realm alongside Luo Chen. 23 24
Appearance
The Evil Emperor’s true form is a colossal, malevolent eye belonging to the Evil Eye clan. When summoned through Luo Chen’s first Martial Soul, he initially manifests as a smaller, incomplete Evil Eye.
- A purple eye with an oppressive, evil aura. 1 24
- His pupil later carries a faint silvery-white swirl after prolonged exposure to time power. 24
- During his evolution, his remnant soul condenses into a fist-sized purple orb marked with an ancient Evil Eye pattern. 43
- His original body is also associated with tentacles, one of which was struck by Luo Chen’s King Ball. 1
Personality
The Evil Emperor is proud, arrogant, and deeply conscious of his former standing as the second-ranked Ten Great Fierce Beast. He speaks of himself as “This Seat,” dismisses weaker species and self-sacrifice, and considers godhood or death the only acceptable outcomes. 12 18
His early dealings with Luo Chen are manipulative. He attempts possession, conceals the whereabouts of his external soul bone, and encourages Luo Chen to grow stronger partly in hope that the seal on his own power will loosen. 2 16 17 Over time, however, his dynamic with Luo Chen becomes cooperative and bantering. He provides practical warnings, identifies dangers, guides expeditions, and criticizes Luo Chen when he becomes overly fixated on divine trials. 19 20 55 56
Abilities & Skills
Evil Eye Gaze
An innate Evil Eye clan mental skill that releases a spiritual shockwave capable of paralyzing targets.
- Luo Chen uses the skill through the contracted Evil Emperor as his first soul skill. 4
- It briefly paralyzed eight-ring Spirit Douluo Meng Shenji for 0.1 seconds despite Luo Chen possessing only one spirit ring. 4
- The Evil Emperor uses it to immobilize an Ice Feather Eagle, allowing Luo Chen to capture it. 20
- Its effect is especially valuable for control, interruption, and creating openings against stronger opponents. 4 20
Mental Power and Detection
The Evil Emperor possesses highly developed spiritual senses and can communicate directly with Luo Chen through mental transmission.
- Identifies Fule as a Spirit Ancestor and warns Luo Chen to conceal his secrets. 2
- Can alter the apparent color of Luo Chen’s spirit ring to disguise its true age. 2
- Recognizes unusual traits in Su Heng’s Martial Soul, including a trace of incomplete divine-beast bloodline. 5
- Detects powerful presences, including the entity observing Luo Chen beneath Slaughter City, even when Luo Chen’s Spirit Abyss Realm perception cannot reach it. 59
- Can mask Luo Chen’s scent and aura with mental interference, though this does not guarantee safety from powerful Far North spirit beasts. 18 20
Light of Time and Space
A powerful technique used before his capture.
- Severely wounded Di Tian during their battle over the Sky Dream Ice Worm. 1
- Its use contributed to the Evil Emperor’s own grave injuries and vulnerable state before Luo Chen captured him. 1
Evil Eye Clan Origin and Refinement Knowledge
The Evil Emperor has extensive knowledge of Evil Eye clan remnants, spiritual cultivation, and Martial Soul refinement.
- Revealed that a ten-thousand-year Evil Eye Tyrant’s remains could potentially be refined into a third eye. 5
- Guided Luo Chen in refining the concealed Evil Eye soul bone into the Evil Eye second Martial Soul rather than using it as an ordinary soul bone. 24
- Recommends spiritual-type soul beasts as suitable ring sources for Luo Chen’s Evil Eye Martial Soul. 24
Post-Evolution Mental Combat
After awakening from his two-year slumber, the Evil Emperor can again assist directly in combat.
- Has recovered to the ten-thousand-year level but still lacks a physical body. 52
- Can presently use mental attacks only. 52
- Claims his mental pressure can intimidate Soul Douluo-level opponents. 52
Relationships
- Luo Chen — Former possession target turned captor, contractor, and eventual partner. The Evil Emperor repeatedly attempted to escape or possess him before conceding defeat and placing his hope of entering the God Realm in Luo Chen. 1 16 24
- Di Tian — Powerful opponent who defeated and gravely wounded the Evil Emperor during their conflict over the Sky Dream Ice Worm. 1
- Luo An’an — Luo Chen’s younger sister. The Evil Emperor advises Luo Chen that improving her Martial Soul quality may be possible but difficult. 26

- Su Heng — The Evil Emperor senses unusual, incomplete divine-beast bloodline traits in Su Heng’s Martial Soul. 5

Acceptance and Evil Eye Refinement
After ten years cut off from Luo Chen by the Temple of Time, the Evil Emperor recognizes that he can no longer overturn the King Ball’s control. He helps Luo Chen turn the concealed Evil Eye soul bone into a second Martial Soul. 23 24
Metamorphosis and Awakening

Space God Inheritance and Slaughter City
The Evil Emperor observes Luo Chen’s acquisition of the Space Trace Bead, praises his possession of both time and space inheritances, and warns him against becoming consumed by divine trials. In Slaughter City, he senses a powerful non-human, non-spirit-beast presence observing Luo Chen from beneath the city. 52 55 59
Trivia
- Luo Chen commonly calls him “Little Evil” and “Xiao Xiezi,” names the Emperor initially finds insulting. 2 23
- He considers the King Ball’s 100% capture effect exceptionally underhanded because it ignores the target’s level. 9
- He strongly rejects the concept of spirit-beast sacrifice, viewing godhood and death as the only choices worthy of a powerful beast. 12
- Despite originating from the Sun Moon Continent, he knows little about Slaughter City until Luo Chen explains its significance. 57
