Shi Feng's words left the group bewildered.
It was just a roar; what was there to be concerned about?
Observing their dismissive expressions, Shi Feng grew stern. "Listen well. Hell Roar is not as simple as you imagine. Follow my instructions exactly from here on out. If anyone dares to mess up, don't blame me for kicking you out of the party immediately."
Chastised by Shi Feng, the group sobered up; no one wanted to be removed from the party.
"Kele and I will take the lead. Lonely As Snow, you protect the Oracle and stay in the middle. Heizi, you stay in the back with the Summoner. Remember, do not break formation regardless of any movement. No one is to attack first without my command. Do you understand?" Shi Feng outlined the basic formation.
The reason Shi Feng had the Guardian Knight Kele lead was that he had instructed Kele to put all his free attribute points into Stamina, bringing his HP to 310. This would allow him to tank longer and share some of the pressure.
Dungeons in God's Domain were not like those in other virtual games; they were highly open and massive. Many player parties would enter a dungeon and wander for hours without finding a single boss. While the Dead Silence Forest wasn't quite that large, it was still easy to get lost in the gloomy woods.
If they got lost?
Shi Feng could only offer a dry chuckle.
The terror of the Dead Silence Forest lay in the fact that players would become disoriented upon entering, eventually dying bizarre, isolated deaths. In his past life, countless players had entered just like this, only to die over and over again without even catching a glimpse of a monster. If they were lucky enough to find a mob, it resulted in a total party wipe. It wasn't until many experts from various guilds fell that people realized the horror of the Dead Silence Forest, which was universally recognized as a terrifying dungeon that couldn't be cleared before level 5.
When the Shadow Guild reached level 5, they organized hundreds of players to enter in waves to scout the path, finally mapping out the Dead Silence Forest at the cost of hundreds of lives.
The entire Dead Silence Forest had thirty-six paths, but only three led to the first boss, Wilmi. These three paths had been paved with the lives of many players. Two of these paths were extremely dangerous—without sufficient strength, it was certain death—leaving only one path with fewer mobs.
Under Shi Feng's guidance, the group stepped into the woods.
Once inside, they realized there were far too many trails, and they had no idea which one to take. Shi Feng, however, didn't hesitate for a second, choosing one path and walking forward. The others followed closely, keeping a wary eye on their surroundings.
After about five minutes, they encountered their first monster, and the group immediately tensed up.
"Don't be impulsive. Follow my lead," Shi Feng shouted.
Before them stood a level 2 Elite Night Rabbit. Due to the dungeon's enhancement, its attack, defense, and HP had been significantly boosted, with its HP reaching 700.
"Kele, go pull it over. Oracle, watch the healing. Everyone else, hold your attacks until I give the order," Shi Feng commanded rapidly.
The Guardian Knight Kele swallowed hard and carefully approached the Night Rabbit's aggro range. The others were tense to the breaking point; even though this was just a level 2 elite, this was a Hell-mode dungeon.
However, everyone's anxiety was unnecessary. The man-sized Night Rabbit spotted Kele and charged straight at him.
Kele successfully pulled the Night Rabbit without panicking. He retreated while using his shield to block the rabbit's attacks. Although every strike landed on his shield, the damage was terrifying—42 points per hit. By the time Kele returned to the party, his HP had already dropped by a third.
The Oracle, named Sleepy Sloth, had decent awareness. As soon as he was in range, he cast Heal, but each heal only restored 24 HP, which couldn't keep up with the rapid loss of health.
"Brother Feng, aren't we attacking yet?" Heizi asked, growing anxious. Kele was now down to less than a third of his HP.
Bringing an Oracle to a dungeon was a mistake; among healing classes, the Oracle had the worst healing output. But since Shi Feng had chosen him, Heizi had to accept it. Still, with the MT about to die, not attacking was inexcusable.
"Wait," Shi Feng said firmly.
Time ticked by. Kele continued to block the Night Rabbit's claw strikes, his HP dropping lower and lower until only 20% remained. Yet, Shi Feng still hadn't given the order to attack.
Just as the group thought Shi Feng was going to abandon Kele, an arrow shot out from the woods, striking the Oracle Sleepy Sloth. Lonely As Snow hadn't even reacted before Sleepy Sloth was hit in the chest, a massive 123-point damage value appearing over his head.
Shi Feng roared, "Sloth, use Life Payment to transfer the damage to Kele! Heizi, pin down the Night Rabbit so Kele can recover! Lonely, follow me! Everyone else, attack the Night Rabbit!"
The Oracle was indeed the worst at healing, but they had high HP, making them hard to one-shot. They also started with two skills: Life Prayer and Life Payment. Life Payment allowed the caster to turn the damage they received into healing, transferring it to someone else. For a healer in the early game with few skills and little gear, the Oracle had more advantages in the Dead Silence Forest than other healers, which was why he had chosen the Oracle over a Priest.
After giving the order, Shi Feng charged into the woods.
"Do you think I'll let you get away?" Shi Feng sneered, watching the black shadow darting through the trees.
Wind Chasing Sword!
Shi Feng transformed into a blur, giving chase.
The reason he hadn't let the group attack the Night Rabbit was to use Kele as bait to draw out the mastermind.
These Night Rabbits seemed fearsome, but for an elite party, facing two or three was no problem. Yet, in his past life, even level 5 elite parties would wipe because of this shadow. It used the Night Rabbits as bait to lure players into attacking, then sniped the healer from behind. Because the party was pinned down by the rabbits, they couldn't save the healer, leading to a total wipe.
If this guy wasn't dealt with in the Dead Silence Forest, it would always end in a wipe.
With the speed boost from Wind Chasing Sword, Shi Feng quickly caught up to the shadow and unleashed three strikes, cutting off its escape.
Realizing it couldn't escape, the shadow turned and drew two short blades to parry Shi Feng's attacks.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Wielding the sword Abyssal Walker, Shi Feng's strength was staggering, forcing the shadow to retreat three steps. Each step caused over a dozen points of damage to appear above its head, and finally, it was revealed in the moonlight.
Dark Night Ranger, Level 2, Special Elite, HP 1458/1500.
Seeing the Dark Night Ranger pushed back, Shi Feng didn't give it a chance, immediately using Abyssal Bind. Nine pitch-black chains erupted to restrain the Dark Night Ranger, rendering it immobile for three seconds and reducing its defense by 100%.
Wind Thunder Flash!
Slash!
Two moves landed, triggering shocking damage values: -81, -98, -119, -124. In an instant, a quarter of the Dark Night Ranger's HP was gone.
Bound by the nine chains, no matter what tricks the Dark Night Ranger had, it couldn't break free and was forced to take hits for three full seconds.
Shi Feng showed no mercy, stabbing sword after sword into the Dark Night Ranger's vital chest area. By the time the ranger broke free, it had less than 700 HP left.
"Damnable human!" The Dark Night Ranger roared in fury, swinging its dual blades like a gale, sweeping toward Shi Feng.
At this moment, Lonely As Snow arrived and used Charge to stun the Dark Night Ranger, simultaneously interrupting its Gale Blade.
Shi Feng seized the opportunity to use Slash, cutting into the Dark Night Ranger's neck.
Lonely As Snow also swung his great axe to strike.
The Dark Night Ranger had finally managed to wake up, but he was already at low health. He swung his dual blades violently, knocking Lonely As Snow away and dealing 64 points of damage, then turned his gaze toward Shi Feng and swung his blades again, slicing horizontally at his neck.
Clang! Shi Feng used his sword to Parry, giving the Dark Night Ranger no chance to counterattack. He shoved the Dark Night Ranger back and followed up with a few more strikes, finishing him off.
He casually picked up the two dropped items and immediately ran to support Kele.
Seeing Shi Feng's agile movements, Lonely As Snow, who was lying to the side, was stunned. He even forgot to follow and provide support, his heart filled with shock.
Is this even how you kill monsters?
