When Shi Feng returned to the party, the Elite Night Rabbit's HP had dropped to only one-third.
The group's coordination was quite good. Kele held the front line alone while the others unleashed heavy damage. Heizi, to manage aggro, refrained from going all-out and instead used Evil Lash to harass the target, buying Kele time to breathe. Kele performed well, tanking steadily and managing aggro effectively; he clearly wasn't a novice, though he still had a long way to go before becoming a true expert.
"Kele, don't always rely on your shield to block. This isn't like other virtual games; you must tank, but you can also use dodges to evade attacks. This will reduce the pressure on the healers. Everyone else, watch your targets. Don't just attack blindly; aim for the Night Rabbit's claws or its weak points. That will also take a lot of pressure off the MT." Shi Feng didn't step in to help Kele directly; instead, he taught the group how to fight.
If everyone treated God's Domain like a traditional game, the results would often be tragic because healing could never keep up with the damage. Some teams would bring an extra healer, but that resulted in insufficient damage output, leading to a party wipe. It wasn't until a few months after God's Domain launched that people slowly adapted to its combat style, unlike the innocently simple way they played now.
Since he intended to train this group and lay the foundation for a future workshop, he naturally wanted them to learn the combat style of God's Domain as early as possible.
The others had assumed Shi Feng was a rookie and felt somewhat dissatisfied. The experts haven't said anything, so why is a rookie like you barking orders? However, Shi Feng's words made sense, so they consciously followed his instructions.
Kele also began to change his combat style. He stopped relying rigidly on his shield and instead took a step back when the Night Rabbit attacked, using the movement to evade. Although he still had to block with his shield most of the time, the pressure on the healers decreased significantly.
This change made killing the Night Rabbits much easier.
The few Level 1 novices were slightly surprised and changed their opinion of Shi Feng; he wasn't as incompetent as they had imagined.
Shi Feng smiled slightly at this, unbothered. He simply watched Kele's performance and felt he was doing quite well.
Although Kele would become a top-tier expert in ten years, he was still far off. If he were an expert MT, he wouldn't step back but would instead choose to dodge while standing his ground. Moving the MT caused the monster to move as well, which disrupted ranged DPS and caused a loss in damage. However, such a technique required rich combat experience and nimble physical reflexes; Kele still needed to practice more.
Before long, the Elite Night Rabbit fell, dropping a Berserker skill book, Whirlwind, along with 3 coppers.
Everyone couldn't help but marvel at the drop rate of the Hell-level dungeon. A single elite monster had dropped a skill book; if they killed over a dozen, wouldn't they get over a dozen books? They knew that skill books were extremely rare outside, with even common ones costing a silver coin.
Shi Feng naturally understood their thoughts, but the Hell-level drop rate wasn't actually that high—it was only three or four times that of the Hard-level. Shi Feng then handed Whirlwind to the still-dazed Lonely As Snow and gave the Level 1 Bronze plate armor dropped by the Dark Night Ranger to Kele, instantly boosting the party's strength.
When Kele received the plate armor, his jaw dropped. He hurriedly thanked Shi Feng. With this Bronze plate armor, his defense increased by 14 points, and his HP rose to 350.
Aside from Shi Feng and Heizi, everyone else was envious. Bronze equipment was the mark of an expert and was impossible to find outside. Yet, this piece had been earned by Shi Feng alone, and he had given it to Kele without hesitation. The group's perception of Shi Feng changed significantly; they felt this captain was excellent, unlike others who would prioritize themselves the moment gear dropped, let alone give Bronze equipment to a temporary member.
Afterward, the group followed Shi Feng as they continued forward.
Although the gloomy forest was terrifying, the group was no longer as tense as before after their intense battles.
Whenever one or two patrolling Elite Night Rabbits popped up, they could handle them quickly. Kele would tank one while Shi Feng and Lonely As Snow rushed to kill the other, with the ranged members prioritizing the Night Rabbit in front of Shi Feng.
With 700 HP, the monsters were wiped out under a barrage of attacks.
They then helped Kele finish off the other Night Rabbit. Soon, both were dead, and they dropped a healing skill book, Recovery. It had a 2-second cast time and, once learned by an Oracle, could restore 37 HP instantly. It was much better than Life Prayer and didn't share a cooldown with it; the two combined could completely negate the damage from the Elite Night Rabbits.
Sleepy Sloth repeatedly thanked Shi Feng and the party for letting him have the skill book. It was crucial for dungeon runs and would have sold for at least two or three silver coins.
"Don't worry about it. Skill books are meant to be used. Let's keep going," Shi Feng replied with a smile.
Healing skill books were the most valuable and rarest, aside from AoE skill books. However, the Dead Silence Forest was a dungeon designed to help players build their foundations in God's Domain. In Hell-level difficulty, the drop rate for basic healing skills was quite high. In his past life, a single run of the Hell-level Dead Silence Forest had yielded four healing skill books, so it wasn't particularly precious.
Over an hour later, Shi Feng's party finally saw the first BOSS in a flat, grassy area.
Wilmi, Chieftain-rank, Level 3, 6000 HP.
Wilmi was a ferocious Night Rabbit, standing two people tall. Its paws were tipped with sharp steel claws, and it loved to host a "feast of blood"—if it caught someone, it would rip out their heart and lungs, leaving a river of blood. Countless players had died miserably under those sharp claws.
Not far from Wilmi, seven Elite Night Rabbits stood guard. They were clustered closely together; if one was attacked, the others would swarm in, and there was a high probability of aggroing the BOSS as well.
Facing seven Night Rabbits, even Shi Feng couldn't hold them off, let alone with a BOSS in the mix.
But if they didn't clear the seven Elite Night Rabbits, they couldn't fight the BOSS at all.
"Brother Feng, what do we do now? There are too many Night Rabbits here; it's a death trap," Heizi said anxiously. The BOSS was right in front of them, but the system had thrown this at them. The difficulty was immense; it was truly a Hell-level dungeon that couldn't be cleared without absolute strength.
The others were also frustrated by the system's setup. Who could tank seven Elite Night Rabbits? Even a Level 5 Guardian Knight probably couldn't do it.
"Go behind that rock over there and wait for me. Kele, get ready to take the aggro. No one is to attack without my command," Shi Feng said, pointing to a large boulder nearby. He knew there were seven Elite Night Rabbits here.
The group followed Shi Feng's orders implicitly. Throughout the journey, their success in killing monsters had relied entirely on his leadership. Everyone had obtained one or two pieces of Bronze equipment, and Heizi even had five. The party's current strength far exceeded other elite parties, and that credit belonged entirely to Shi Feng's command.
Shi Feng ran to a spot 40 yards away from the seven Night Rabbits and hid quietly in the grass, observing their every move.
The group understood that Shi Feng wanted to pull the monsters, but the seven Night Rabbits were too close together. Besides, Shi Feng was a Swordsman with no ranged abilities—how was he going to pull them?
Time ticked by, and everyone grew anxious. If Shi Feng messed up, it would be a total party wipe. Yet, Shi Feng remained calm, motionless, his eyes fixed on the Night Rabbits in the distance.
Just then, a breeze blew, carrying fallen leaves from the treetops.
As a leaf drifted slowly toward the Night Rabbits, Shi Feng picked up a small stone and flicked it gently.
The stone flew toward the Night Rabbit closest to the BOSS.
It's over.
Everyone knew the result: a BOSS and seven Night Rabbits would charge them and sacrifice them in blood.
Just as the stone was about to hit the Night Rabbit, a leaf drifted exactly between the stone and the monster.
The stone struck the leaf, which then smacked into the Night Rabbit.
The Night Rabbit turned around, looking for the source, and found only a leaf. But how could a leaf hit it so hard? It wandered away from the main group, looking around in confusion. Without realizing it, it drifted more than 20 yards away, moving further and further.
"That's incredible!" Lonely As Snow's eyes nearly popped out of his head as he exclaimed.
The others nodded silently.
How much precision and judgment did it take to hit a leaf while it was mid-air, causing the Night Rabbit's aggro to glitch and forcing it to search blindly for a target?
Calling it a master technique wouldn't be an exaggeration.
Was Shi Feng really a rookie? Could he be some gaming god here to toy with them?
"Summoner, it's your turn to show what you can do," Shi Feng said as he walked to the rock, looking at the Summoner and patting him on the shoulder with a smile.
