The Risk Goblin's shameless Rocket Boots left everyone stunned.
They had never seen a monster so adept at fleeing, and its human-like expressions and movements made it seem less like an NPC and more like a child pretending to be one.
Two crimson flames flared up, and the Risk Goblin began to rise slowly into the air.
The group felt nothing but frustration, but there was no stopping it now; they could only watch as the Risk Goblin escaped. The magic-wielding classes were over 40 yards away, and Lonely As Snow was more than 30 yards out—too far for a Charge. Furthermore, once a target was airborne, the stun effect of Charge became useless, leaving it as nothing more than a simple movement speed boost.
At that moment, only Shi Feng was close, just 15 yards away. However, Shi Feng lacked any ranged attack methods. Even if he ran over, the goblin would likely be over 20 yards off the ground, leaving him to watch helplessly as it departed.
Nine-Headed Dragon Slash!
Knowing he couldn't catch up, Shi Feng swung the Abyssal Walker, which was wreathed in black mist. In an instant, nine streaks of black mist erupted and flew forward. He wasn't about to just stand by and watch such a clever Risk Goblin get away.
He had assumed the Risk Goblin was merely an ordinary special elite, but he hadn't expected it to be so human-like.
Having campaigned in God's Domain for ten years, he had rarely seen such a witty goblin. The Main God System wouldn't grant a minor monster high intelligence without a reason; such intelligence usually carried deep significance. Those who possessed it were typically human heroes or legendary creatures—colossal, terrifying existences.
Although this Risk Goblin's intelligence didn't reach the level of those heroes or legendary creatures, it was far smarter than a typical boss. Taking it down might yield unexpected rewards.
At that moment, the Risk Goblin's display changed, suddenly revealing the name: Axel Mador.
Axel Mador, Lord-rank, Level 5, HP 600/600.
Seeing the name, Shi Feng felt it sounded familiar, as if he had heard it somewhere before, but he couldn't quite place it.
However, he was confident he could finish off a goblin with only 600 HP using Nine-Headed Dragon Slash.
Yet, just as the nine sword shadows were about to pierce Axel Mador, the goblin pulled several iron spheres from the small bag on its back and threw them directly at the phantom images of the Abyssal Walker.
The moment they touched, dazzling sparks erupted.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A series of explosions knocked the Abyssal Walker's phantoms away. By the time the phantoms were ready to strike again, Axel Mador had already flown 30 yards away, and the nine phantoms could only reach a distance of 30 yards.
Shi Feng could only watch as Axel Mador escaped, completely powerless to stop it.
"Damn it, how can a monster be like this? Its escape ability is too broken," Heizi cursed, glaring at the receding Axel Mador.
Kele was also grinding his teeth in hatred, punching a tree hard.
The others were equally disgruntled.
They had all worked hard to fight this elite monster for so long, and just when they were about to reap the rewards, it grew wings and flew away. Could anything be more frustrating?
"Brother Feng, let's keep chasing," Heizi suggested, noticing that the goblin's movement speed wasn't actually that fast, and perhaps the fuel in those boots would run out soon, forcing it to land.
"Forget it, let's go back to farming Wandering Goblins," Shi Feng shook his head. If he could have chased it, he would have, but the goblin's Rocket Boots were renowned as a "God-tier escape artifact" in God's Domain. They had only just activated; in a moment, its speed would surge, and it would vanish in the blink of an eye. Finding it again would be impossible.
Sure enough, a moment later, the flames from the Rocket Boots flared, and with a whoosh, Axel Mador vanished into the sky, nowhere to be seen.
"Don't let us run into you again. You won't be getting away next time," Heizi said regretfully, looking toward the spot where Axel Mador had disappeared.
Shi Feng also felt it was a pity, but at least farming Wandering Goblins would be safe now; after this, the Risk Goblin likely wouldn't appear again.
"Let's go, back to farming Wandering Goblins," Shi Feng said, turning to the group.
"Brother Feng, you're still the best. Why didn't I think of that? We'll just kill all of Axel Mador's kin, and see if that brat dares to show his face again," Heizi laughed, feeling clever.
Shi Feng was speechless and turned to leave, ignoring the daydreaming Heizi.
Suddenly, Shi Feng froze and stopped in his tracks.
"Damn it, our luck is terrible. I never expected Axel Mador to appear here, and as a Level 5 Risk Goblin at that." Shi Feng clenched his fists tightly, his brows furrowed in a rare display of genuine anger.
Seeing Shi Feng so furious, the others felt a faint chill permeate the air and couldn't help but step back, cold sweat beading on their foreheads. They had always thought of Shi Feng as approachable, calm, and steady; they hadn't expected him to be so terrifying when enraged.
It felt as if the vibrant forest around them had turned into a frozen hell—dead, cold, and dark.
"Brother Feng... are you okay?" Heizi asked cautiously, startled. This was completely different from when he had argued with others in the past; it was the first time he had seen Shi Feng's anger feel so terrifying.
"Oh, I'm fine," Shi Feng replied, snapping out of it and offering a faint smile as he suppressed the intense killing intent. This killing intent had been cultivated slowly over his time in God's Domain; compared to the Tyrant Bear Kele from ten years later, it was nothing, but for the current Heizi and the others, it was likely unbearable.
He had finally remembered the name Axel Mador.
Axel Mador was a famous Grandmaster Engineer in God's Domain. Three years later, he would construct the Sky Fortress "Ring of Twin Serpents," which would shake every nation and establish the Goblin Empire, triggering the famous God's Domain expansion, "The Rise of the New World." At that time, countless super guilds had laid siege to the Sky Fortress, only to be completely wiped out. And the one responsible for all of it was Axel Mador.
To have such a major figure appear right before his eyes, only for him to be completely oblivious and miss the chance to take him out—how could Shi Feng not be furious?
"Captain, there's a box here. Could it have been dropped by that Axel Mador because of the explosion?" Gluttonous Mouse, who had been silent, asked as he picked up a small metal box from the grass.
Shi Feng took it and saw the name Axel Mador engraved on the side. He opened the box and immediately smiled. "Great job, Mouse. You did well; it seems our efforts weren't entirely in vain."
Seeing Shi Feng so happy, the others knew the item must be extremely precious, as ordinary things meant nothing to him.
As for wanting to keep it for themselves, that thought never crossed their minds. They had long since made Shi Feng their idol, and they felt happy just being able to help him.
"How about this: you all stay here and farm monsters to level up. I have an urgent matter to attend to. Notify me once you've all reached Level 4," Shi Feng said, putting the metal box away and making quick arrangements. The task ahead was something the others couldn't help with; he had to do it alone.
Hearing this, the group felt a bit reluctant, but knowing Shi Feng had further plans for them once they reached Level 4, they grew expectant and followed his instructions.
Shi Feng then departed from the depths of the Dark Moon Valley.
With Heizi's area-of-effect skills, the party could take on seven or eight goblins at once, making their leveling speed at least two or three times faster than other teams.
As for him, he intended to use this metal box to take the first step in his plan to rise to power in God's Domain.
