After seeing the short goblin piloting a huge steel robot, everyone instinctively knew it was dangerous. When Shi Feng warned them, they didn't even bother picking up the drops. They sprinted straight for the woods without a moment's hesitation.
Shi Feng naturally wasn't about to stay behind.
The Risk Goblin before them was a dangerous monster. Especially when it first appeared, it was even stronger than Werewolf Ferrot after he activated Death Frenzy.
Risk Goblin, Special Elite, Level 5, HP 1600/1600.
There was a very small chance of one appearing after players cleared out the Wandering Goblins and Goblin Overseers. Whenever one did, it became the players' nightmare.
There was a saying in God's Domain: Don't underestimate a goblin's intelligence just because it's small. If you made one angry, it could wipe you out in minutes.
In his previous life, Shi Feng had once chanced upon a Risk Goblin. An elite group had been farming ore when, after killing a whole field of goblins, the Risk Goblin appeared. The group was thrilled to encounter such a rare Special Elite, and they all charged at it. In the end, the twenty-man elite group met a tragic fate.
Don't let the Risk Goblin's mere 1,600 HP fool you. Its defense was extraordinary, reducing damage by 80%. A Level 4 Berserker's axe had dealt only 2 damage, while the Risk Goblin's attacks were even more fearsome. One burst of bullets sent everyone straight back to town for free.
Although Shi Feng's team was fleeing with all their might, the Risk Goblin clearly had a deep hatred for them because of their earlier misdeeds. Rockets on the back of its mechanical robot suddenly ignited, sending the steel machine, over three meters tall, hurtling toward Shi Feng's team at breakneck speed.
While they were being chased, Heizi fired Shadow Arrow as he ran.
Although it hit the Risk Goblin, it dealt only 4 damage.
Seeing that damage, Heizi's little eyes widened. He said, speechless, "That's just disgusting. If this goblin weren't wearing armor, I'd take him down in a second!"
"Don't worry about that for now. Keep running, and watch out for the bullets. The Risk Goblin will turn back once we're more than 1,200 yards from the mountain." Shi Feng hadn't expected Heizi to improve so much after his explanation. He could even hit a target while running. Still, standing up to the Risk Goblin head-on would be foolish.
Heizi understood what Shi Feng meant. He began chanting Evil Lash, and five brambles tightly bound the Risk Goblin just as it caught up, slowing it considerably and letting the team pull farther ahead.
Once the Risk Goblin tore free of the five brambles, a string of high damage numbers appeared above its head: -23, -24, -23, -23, -24. Its HP instantly dropped to 1,479.
The damage from Evil Lash was simply outrageous.
Even Heizi was startled. His Level 3 Shadow Arrow had dealt only 4 damage, while Evil Thorn had dealt over a hundred. The difference was enormous. Did the Risk Goblin have some weakness to this?
Seeing the Risk Goblin's HP suddenly drop, Shi Feng saw hope. It turned out the Risk Goblin wasn't immune to plant-based attacks. He immediately gave orders. "Everyone, stop. Kele, draw the Risk Goblin's aggro with your back to the group. The rest of you, attack. Watch your positioning. As soon as the Risk Goblin raises its gun, get out of its line of fire. Heizi, use Evil Thorn the moment it comes off cooldown. We have a chance to take it down."
They couldn't be sure they'd survive if they tried to get beyond the 1,200-yard range. They might as well fight back; perhaps they could kill the Risk Goblin.
No player had ever killed a Risk Goblin in his previous life. If they managed it, they might get something good.
The Risk Goblin was currently targeting Heizi, but Lonely As Snow charged in first and used Whirlwind, dealing 3 damage.
The damage was low, but the brief stun gave Kele an opening. He used Holy Strike and Retribution, dealing 3 and 2 damage and generating enough extra aggro to firmly draw the Risk Goblin's attention.
The Risk Goblin extended the mechanical saw on its right arm and swung it fiercely at Kele. Kele blocked with his shield, but the blow knocked him back three steps and dealt 147 damage. He was shocked. When the next saw attack came, he hurriedly rolled to the side and dodged. Sleepy Sloth immediately cast two heals, restoring nearly a hundred HP.
"That damage is insane!" Lonely As Snow exclaimed. He didn't dare linger and darted ten yards away. One hit would surely kill him.
Shi Feng wasn't afraid. He went straight behind the Risk Goblin and unleashed a string of skills: Wind Thunder Flash, Double Strike, and Slash. An occasional critical hit dealt 16 damage, which was already a lot compared to everyone else's attacks.
But as the Risk Goblin faced Shi Feng's attacks, it shot him a disdainful look before continuing to swing its saw wildly at Kele.
A series of fierce blows drove Kele back again and again, his HP falling lower with each hit. Sleepy Sloth couldn't restore it fast enough and could only watch as Kele drew closer and closer to death.
At the critical moment, Shi Feng used Abyssal Bind. Nine black chains trapped the Risk Goblin, giving Kele a chance to catch his breath.
Even with everyone attacking wildly for those three seconds, they managed to take only 7% off the Risk Goblin's HP—less than Heizi's single Evil Lash.
When the three seconds were up, the Risk Goblin broke free. A mocking smile spread across the green-skinned goblin's face. Its tiny hands worked the controls, and its saw arm unleashed a spinning slash. The blade traced a beautiful arc, sending Shi Feng flying into a tree. He slammed into it, losing 286 HP.
With more than half his HP restored, Kele hurried forward and used Holy Strike and Retribution again, trying to hold the Risk Goblin's aggro.
But the Risk Goblin ignored Kele. Instead, it raised the gun on its left arm, aimed at Shi Feng, and opened fire.
A dense hail of bullets flew toward Shi Feng just as he landed. There was no way to dodge them.
Phantom Kill!
Shi Feng's clone appeared in front of him and swung its weapons repeatedly to deflect the incoming bullets. Meanwhile, Shi Feng activated Gravity Liberation and leaped with all his strength, landing in the treetops and escaping the Risk Goblin's attack range. His clone, however, was destroyed.
After firing its whole magazine, the Risk Goblin began reloading. As soon as it finished, it charged at Shi Feng again. The others had no choice but to keep attacking, slowly whittling down its HP.
But Shi Feng, with Gravity Liberation active, wasn't easy to hit. He also used the trees for cover, consistently dodging the bullets and kiting the Risk Goblin.
Whenever Evil Lash came off cooldown, Heizi used it immediately.
The Risk Goblin's HP kept falling: 64%, 50%, 30%, 20%, 10%.
Just as its HP reached 10%, the Risk Goblin climbed out of the steel robot and ran for its life, wearing rocket boots.
"You've got to be kidding me! Monsters can run away?" Heizi stared in astonishment as the Risk Goblin raced toward an empty area at incredible speed.
The others were stunned too. They hadn't expected the goblin to be so clever that it knew when to run.
"We can't let it get away, or all that damage will have been for nothing!" Kele immediately chased after it. The Risk Goblin had given him a thorough beating, and he was furious. How could he let it get away after taking advantage of them?
"You're not getting away!" Shi Feng used Wind Chasing Sword and rushed after it.
But the Risk Goblin remained calm. It made a face at Shi Feng, then pressed a button at its waist. A burst of bright red flames blasted from its rocket boots, and it was clearly about to fly away.
