Background / History

Ning Rongrong is Ning Fengzhi's daughter and the cherished young lady of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Before her martial soul awakening, she asked to study alongside the Ning clan children because she found her father and the sect's two Titled Douluo too boring. Her pranks earned her the nickname-like reputation of a “Demon Pill” among the schoolchildren. 1

She became interested in Han Yu because he did not flatter or fear her status. After realizing that other children merely pandered to her, she repeatedly sought Han Yu out, eventually making him an indispensable part of her childhood. Although she initially treated his formation studies as tedious, she began studying array diagrams with him and developed greater patience. 1

At her awakening ceremony, Rongrong manifested an exceptionally beautiful Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda and tested at innate soul power level nine. The result made her the sect's greatest hope for overcoming the pagoda martial soul's historical cultivation ceiling. 2

Her early cultivation lagged behind Han Yu's despite her talent, largely because of her formerly carefree habits. After accidentally preparing a Whale Glue concoction that benefited Han Yu, she recognized the cost of neglecting study and cultivation. She then committed herself to a year-long training program with Han Yu, using the Spirit Gathering Array and studying ancient texts. 14

Rongrong's determination intensified as Han Yu continued to outpace her. She trained herself to exhaustion, learned to handle two tasks at once, and pursued stronger soul rings, though Ning Fengzhi refused her request for a thousand-year second ring out of concern for her safety. 15 19

At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Han Yu gave her the Tulip of Romance. Its effects evolved her Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda into the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, removed the former level-79 limitation, and elevated her soul power to level 30. The sect subsequently became known as the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. 25 26

Appearance

As a child, Rongrong wore green-blue or cyan dresses and had fair, supple skin, a noble and ethereal bearing, and carefully arranged hair. As she grew, her long hair fell over her shoulders and her figure began to mature. 1 12 19

She hesitated at the prospect of killing the Spirit-Attracting Butterfly, worried intensely when Han Yu took dangerous risks, and later became furious when enemies insulted her dignity and threatened those close to her. 7 8 22

Her attachment to Han Yu develops from childhood curiosity into romantic devotion. Feeling inferior beside his rapid growth, she seeks to become stronger rather than accept the gap between them.
