Zhao Fu refined two pills, gaining poison resistance, Heavenly-grade aptitude, and Heavenly Sense. He then returned to the Calamity Festival exchange, where he focused on pill formulas that could strengthen Great Qin, especially the rare Fate-Changing Pill formula.
Zhao Fu used the Calamitous Dragon Sword to summon Green Dragon and hunt water disaster beasts in a flooded region, earning Merit Points without fighting himself. Green Dragon revealed her name as Long Xiaoxiao, and Zhao Fu also learned the names of Heavenly Demon and Ghost Slayer: Ailiya and Liu Ningbing.
Zhao Fu and Long Xiaoxiao killed calamity beasts in flooded regions, earning enough merit points for Zhao Fu to exchange for the Vermilion Bird Blood Pill. With every pill on the rankings now claimed, Zhao Fu turned to collecting high-level crystals.
During the Calamity Festival, Zhao Fu hunted powerful Calamity Beasts and opened three Level Seven Calamity Crystals, gaining an Orb of the Void, an Epic Ice Soul Blade, and a Calamity Flame. After strengthening the flame with five Calamity Beast Crystals, he summoned ten Skeleton Knights and considered what to empower next.
Zhao Fu fused the five-colored Calamity Fire into the King's Ring, transforming it and the Skeleton Cavalry into powerful Calamity Knights with the Undead Catastrophe skill. The Calamity Festival ended with Zhao Fu ranked first on the Merit Ranking, though he kept his name hidden.
After the Calamity Festival, Zhao Fu collected Great Qin’s rewards and strengthened its generals, but the celebrations ended as hostile forces launched coordinated attacks against the Ying Family and Great Qin. Great Qin faced rebellion, invasions, and destruction across its northern businesses as the Anti-Qin forces grew bolder.
After the Anti-Qin Alliance attacked Great Qin’s businesses, Zhao Fu rejected submission and began preparing to restore the nation while avoiding a premature confrontation. He placed the Imperial Phoenix Statue on the Heaven-Prayer Platform and postponed action against the alliance as he assessed Heavenly Stone City’s strength.
As Huaxia’s powers debated how to respond to the looming civil war, Great Qin remained silent while the northern forces celebrated. Zhao Fu’s Wyvern egg hatched, and the newborn dragon flew to him.
Zhao Fu unleashed an undead catastrophe, sending a vast skeleton army from the flooded ghost domain to slaughter living creatures. As the undead spread beyond the Calamity Knights’ control, the northern continent faced the threat of becoming hell, while the enormous blood-colored star began to change.
Zhao Fu led the undead sea of bones across thousands of miles, using Undead Catastrophe to swell its ranks as it consumed everything in its path. Players spread word of the disaster, while the nearest system main city prepared to defend itself.
The Undead Catastrophe swept across a vast area as Zhao Fu confronted four system main city lords, who could not overpower him. He claimed the undead army was beyond his control and bargained for their cities’ protection, leaving the four City Lords bound to his demands.
Zhao Fu forced four City Lords to expel anti-Qin forces and conceal their cities, allowing the Undead Catastrophe to pass them by. The disaster devastated the region, while rumors of Great Qin’s involvement spread and Su Yan ordered an investigation.
After the Undead Catastrophe devastated one region, Zhao Fu led the growing sea of bones into a new region, where it began slaughtering villages and beasts. As the Calamity Knights expanded the undead horde, Zhao Fu remained at its core, and the chapter ended with a mysterious sword light rescuing a woman and her infant.
Zhao Fu used Undead Catastrophe to threaten four City Lords into expelling people on his list and agreeing to his conditions, while refusing to spare the region’s other inhabitants. The undead ravaged the region for seven days before the doubled bone sea advanced into the next region.
The Undead Catastrophe swept into a third region, growing stronger as factions across Huaxia realized Great Qin was behind it and feared the disaster could engulf the world. With no strength to stop it, the factions sought to persuade Zhao Fu to end the catastrophe, while Su Yan sent envoys to negotiate peace and the Ying Family was flooded with visitors.
As Huaxia’s factions and officials pleaded with Great Qin to end the Undead Catastrophe, Zhao Fu rejected their appeals and declared that Great Qin would not back down. The Ying Family delivered the refusal to the assembled factions, leaving the venue in stunned silence.
Zhao Fu met Huaxia’s leading powers and confirmed that the Great Qin Imperial Prince would unleash the Undead Catastrophe, refusing to change the decision. He offered to stop it only if the factions submitted to Great Qin, leaving them unable to answer.
After negotiations at the Ying Family failed, Zhao Fu faced growing hostility from Huaxia and panic overseas as Great Qin continued to pursue the Undead Catastrophe. He returned to Apocalypse World and led the undead army to attack the fourth region.
Zhao Fu’s undead army swept through the fourth and fifth regions, leaving destruction and panic as the authorities feared provoking the Ying Family. After five days, he sent the Calamity Knights onward, and the skeletons began advancing into the seventh region.
As the Undead Catastrophe rapidly spread, factions and dynasties across Huaxia united against Great Qin, whose actions had turned public opinion against it. The Clans and Flower Moon each debated joining the opposition, and both decided to take action.
Su Yan rallied Huaxia’s factions and players into an anti-Qin force, planning to use their numbers to wear down Great Qin’s Undead Catastrophe. With more than three million combat strength gathered, he began preparing to concentrate forces in the region the undead would attack next.
Su Yan gathered fifteen million players and four City Lords to confront Great Qin’s Undead Catastrophe, then publicly challenged Great Qin to draw it into the designated area. Zhao Fu learned of the plan and the flood of hostility against Great Qin, and sat in the hall realizing he had made a mistake.
Zhao Fu decided to send the undead army into the eighth region to fight the fifteen million players gathered there, while keeping Great Qin’s few Wyverns in reserve. As the skeleton horde advanced on the players’ fortified wall, a massive battle was about to begin.
Fifteen million players held the eighth region’s defenses against the undead with holy-water traps and Holy Light Talismans, initially believing they could stop the attack. Zhao Fu then appeared and used the Calamity King's Ring to summon a vastly more powerful black bone sea, leaving the battle’s true danger clear.
Zhao Fu’s empowered Undead Catastrophe overwhelmed the player army, and he confronted four City Lords who tried to stop it. He summoned twenty-eight City Lords bound by contract to protect his Calamity Knights, then threatened them when they hesitated to pursue the fleeing enemies.
