After losing his expected place among the Eight Inheritors, Zhao Fu spent his remaining Trial Points and began constructing the Corpse Soul Blood Pool in Great Qin. The chapter left the pool’s setup underway as Zhao Fu prepared to cultivate powerful Death Clan monsters.
Zhao Fu tested the Corpse Soul Blood Pool, strengthened Great Qin’s spirit plants, and prepared new cities before entering the Trial Festival’s final trial with Xian Ru, Gao Li, and Nü Lü. They arrived in a crowded space with their powers restricted and a colossal staircase rising at its center.
Zhao Fu and the three women climbed the heavenly stairway and reached a high platform where the human world’s powerful figures and eight inheritors had gathered beneath a seven-colored sphere of light. Nü Lü reunited with friends from the Clans, while Zhao Fu studied his rivals and recognized his half-brother Li Baiqing.
Nü Lü reunited with Xuanyuan Xiu, who tried to take her away, but she rejected him and affirmed her love for Zhao Fu. Xuanyuan Xiu withdrew from the trial, while Zhao Fu's arrival drew the attention of the inheritors gathered around them.
Zhao Fu endured the final trial’s escalating pressure without difficulty and used King’s Power to help Nü Lü, Xian Ru, and Gao Li hold on. His effortless endurance and ability to support the three women stunned the other contestants, including the eight inheritors.
After surviving the gravity trial, Zhao Fu watched the other candidates undergo trials of the heart, though he experienced no trial himself. When fewer than fifty people remained, the final trial began, and Zhao Fu was pulled toward the seven-colored orb by the Earth Realm Mark on his hand.
Zhao Fu revealed himself as the Guardian of the Dao and began the final trial by attacking the fifty participants. Arthur Tina, Akhenaten, Si Ji, and Geluofei fought back, but Zhao Fu effortlessly countered their attacks.
Zhao Fu overwhelmed the challengers in the final trial, leaving only the eight great inheritors alive under the protection of the Earth Realm Mark. At the world consciousness’s prompting, he began humiliating them to awaken their power, starting with Arthur Tina and Oleg.
The world consciousness took control of Zhao Fu’s trial, subjecting the eight inheritors to terrifying illusions that awakened the power within their souls. The eight emerged surrounded by blood-red light and stared at Zhao Fu with intense killing intent.
The eight inheritors awakened the power of the Earth Realm Mark and attacked Zhao Fu with overwhelming hatred, leaving him unsure why they blamed him. Zhao Fu unleashed his own Earth Realm Mark and clashed with all eight in a battle that ended with both sides wounded and thrown back by a massive explosion.
Zhao Fu fought the eight inheritors and killed four of them, including Oleg with a devastating sword slash. As the remaining four empowered themselves, Geluofei invoked “God Says,” and Zhao Fu felt the world crushing his body and soul.
Zhao Fu defeated the eight inheritors in an illusion after the trial’s power drove them into a deadly battle, then nearly attacked them again before a beam of light restored his senses. The Trial Festival ended in failure, and Zhao Fu returned to the Apocalypse World with the Defender of the Way identity and its restricted power over the world’s origin.
Zhao Fu’s bloodlines fused into the Qin Emperor Bloodline, and his power of a king evolved into Emperor’s Power. After the Trial Festival, he began expanding Great Qin’s operations as the world reacted to his rise as a Guardian of the Way.
Zhao Fu advanced Great Qin and its subordinate states in Apocalypse World, then met with Wu Qingniang in the real world. After warning her about a coming catastrophe and offering his help, he left her to prepare for it.
Zhao Fu inspected the inner Great Wall as Great Qin focused on clearing regions and building its defenses. After conquering eighteen regions and completing the wall, Great Qin had grown vastly stronger, though Zhao Fu worried about money and the dangers posed by the rising Demon Horn Empire.
Zhao Fu planned Great Qin’s expansion beyond the Inner Great Wall and sent surrender offers to the surrounding regions while preparing to conquer the northern forces. He led thirteen million soldiers north and urged the outnumbered city lords to submit, claiming Great Qin would protect them.
Zhao Fu attacked the northern factions after they hesitated to surrender, using Great Qin’s overwhelming forces and varied assaults to break their resistance. The northern City Lords capitulated, and Zhao Fu accepted ten regions before moving their cities and people inside the Inner Great Wall.
After annexing ten regions, Zhao Fu weighed how Great Qin should deal with neighboring factions while avoiding a united response from the other three directions. His generals proposed several ways to persuade or defeat them, but Zhao Fu had not yet chosen a course.
With the force restraining the system main cities gone, they began massacring players through deadly traps disguised as rewards and events. Zhao Fu gathered intelligence as the conflict spread, while the chapter ended with Firebird City burning players alive.
After system main cities massacred players and the final stage of the Great Chaotic Era began, Zhao Fu assessed the new dangers and benefits facing the world. He chose to pause Great Qin’s campaigns in three directions and focus on securing its ten northern regions.
Zhao Fu gathered twenty-four Indian beauties to refine India's Fate Clan Artifact and strengthen the Imperial Phoenix Statue. After the Glass Peacock was tamed, he began transforming the artifact so it would belong to the Great Qin Clan rather than India or Huaxia.
Zhao Fu and nine generals used the Heaven and Earth Refining Array to refine India’s Glass Peacock into Great Qin’s Fate Clan Artifact. The ritual drew fortune from across Huaxia and the Central Continent, and ended with Great Qin’s fortune turning the artifact into a fearsome black sphere.
Zhao Fu and the others completed the refinement of Great Qin’s Fate Clan Artifact, a fierce black peacock that strengthened Great Qin’s people and harmed those elsewhere, especially in India. The Taoist School leader feared Great Qin might separate from Huaxia, while Zhao Fu summoned the peacock and it became a small crystal sculpture.
Zhao Fu made the Great Qin Imperial Peacock Great Qin’s Fate Clan Artifact while keeping the Heirloom Seal of the Realm tied to Huaxia. As natural disasters and killing spread across the world, Great Qin remained protected, and Wu Zetian urged Zhao Fu to press its advantage through surrender offers and faster expansion.
Zhao Fu prepared an envoy mission to persuade City Lords to meet with Great Qin, sending scholars accompanied by Tier 3 soldiers and gifts. The first envoys reached Divine Martial City, where City Lord Zhou Chang agreed to hear their request amid growing unrest and food shortages.
