Zhao Fu used the City God Stones to build a City God Temple, then reversed the Myriad Ghost-Warding Talisman's effect to draw ghosts toward Great Qin Town. More than ten thousand ghosts attacked the town, where Bai Qi led the defense and ghost-warding talismans covered the walls.
Great Qin Town repelled a night-long siege by ghosts, including evil ghosts, and Zhao Fu upgraded its City God Temple with the battle’s rewards. With the temple’s protective power strengthened, Zhao Fu left Great Qin Town to handle other matters.
Zhao Fu traded equipment for Ghost Crystals in Orc City, then received a discovery from Liu Subai that gave him a way to weaken the orcs in a future conflict. He prepared supplies for the coming night of fighting ghosts and agreed to let Liu Subai visit Great Qin.
Zhao Fu spent heavily on talismans, peachwood, yang blood, and ghost-crystal exchanges to prepare Great Qin for the Ghost Festival. As sunset fell, the festival’s ghostly energy returned stronger than the night before.
Zhao Fu’s Great Qin Town slaughtered successive waves of ghosts and collected the promise of hundreds of thousands of ghost crystals. At midnight, the Ghost Moon turned blood-red as a much larger horde, including Six Paths Hungry Ghosts, approached, and Zhao Fu prepared the town’s Ballista for battle.
Zhao Fu’s forces slaughtered two successive ghost hordes, using specialized arrows to counter the Six Paths Hungry Ghosts. After the battle, he had Asani play the reinforced Mourning Flute with the Requiem, and the weather began to change.
Asani’s flute drew a horde of 350,000 ghosts toward Great Qin, where Bai Qi used army qi to summon a blood eagle and break up their charge. A Heavenly Ghost attacked Asani, but Zhao Fu and Ge Nie intervened, and Ge Nie ultimately killed it with his sword and Ghost-Slaying Talisman.
After the Ghost Festival battle ended, Zhao Fu upgraded the City God Temple and summoned thirty Underworld Constables, though they could not capture ghosts during the festival. He then opened the Heavenly Ghost treasure bags and found an Unsealing Stone that might restore his sealed strength.
Zhao Fu exchanged for the Hundred Ghost Illusionist profession after securing more ghost crystals, alarming major factions that had hoped to claim the top professions. Back in Great Qin, he tested the profession’s powers and began transferring soldiers into it.
Zhao Fu prepared Great Qin for another night in the ghost world, but the Ghost Moon turned crimson and unleashed a massive horde that threatened to overwhelm the city. As ghosts climbed the walls and defenses faltered, Zhao Fu ordered Ge Nie to activate a final countermeasure.
Zhao Fu used the Sunblazing Immortal Emperor Grand Formation to destroy the ghost flood, then exchanged Ghost Crystal Points for the Ghost Summoner profession and upgraded Great Qin’s City God Temple to gold quality. He left Great Qin with a stronger ghost-summoning force and the newly unlocked ability to summon Black and White Impermanence.
Zhao Fu learned that the female Black and White Impermanence were Bai Xiaoxi and Hei Xiaojie, then led Great Qin through another dangerous night of the Ghost Festival. The next morning, he exchanged for the last top-ten profession, the Ghost Demon Archer, just before Li Baiqing could claim it.
After obtaining the Ghost Demon Archer, Zhao Fu spent his ghost crystals on two troop upgrade stones and raised Great Qin’s troop grade to E+. As the sixth night’s stronger ghosts emerged, Great Qin relied on its defensive formations and Gold-quality City God Temple to survive.
Zhao Fu spent his ghost crystals on more god-slaying supplies and prepared Great Qin for the Ghost Festival’s seventh night. As a blood moon empowered a massive ghost horde and more than fifty Heavenly Ghosts attacked, Zhao Fu joined the battle with an Evil-Breaking Spear.
Zhao Fu’s forces defeated the ghost horde, but a powerful Ghost King arrived and challenged him. Ge Nie fought her using Zhao Fu’s King’s Mark, gaining the upper hand just as his killing blow seemed ready to land.
The Ghost King unleashed her Killing Field Domain and overwhelmed Ge Nie, forcing Zhao Fu to unseal his power and enter the fight. Zhao Fu challenged her with his King's Domain and Heavenly Demon Domain, and the chapter ended as he sent a gigantic demon phantom toward her.
Zhao Fu defeated the Ghost King with Evil-Breaking Spears and the Heavenly Demon Sword, but she transformed into the Ghost-Slaying Sword before he could kill her. After seeing fragments of her memories, he discovered that she remained inside the Semi-Epic weapon.
Zhao Fu finished the Ghost Festival, traded equipment with the orcs for ghost crystals and a future population exchange, then reinforced the Ghost-Slaying Sword until it underwent a transformation. The sword stirred up a vast ghostly phenomenon and seemed to have advanced, but Zhao Fu had not yet checked its new attributes.
Zhao Fu upgraded the City God Temple to Legendary grade and discovered he could appoint a City God himself. He used the General Soul to appoint Beiming Danqiu as Great Qin Town’s City God.
Zhao Fu appointed Beiming Danqiu as a City God and tallied Great Qin’s enormous gains from the Ghost Festival. After celebrating with his people, Zhao Fu returned to the real world and reviewed other factions’ results.
After the Ghost Festival, Zhao Fu focused on Great Qin’s plans to expand its slave trade and acquire corpses to strengthen its soldiers. He considered provoking a war between two system main cities, but knew the scheme could draw both factions’ retaliation.
Zhao Fu opened trading posts to exchange equipment for people, using Great Qin’s troops and guards to support the plan. After he killed a woman who challenged him, the crowd fled, while some players accepted the lucrative trade; Zhao Fu then left with Li Qinqian for Ox Tooth City.
Zhao Fu established Viet Guard in Ox Tooth City and used Li Qinqian’s patriotic speech and generous benefits to recruit members, while secretly intending to use the faction to undermine and eventually conquer Little Viet. Viet Guard gained local attention, and the Little Viet military began considering how to support it.
After receiving the newly refined Hundred Origin Pills, Zhao Fu discussed Great Qin's strategy and commerce with his advisors, then considered Ba Qing's proposals for expanding trade and developing agriculture and livestock. As Zhao Fu examined a map to choose a site for animal husbandry, a soldier reported that a small town had been discovered seven hundred li from Great Qin.
After learning that a nearby small town had been discovered, Zhao Fu investigated its defenses and decided to gather troops before making a move. He then opened a passage to Green Apricot to spy on Great Shun and returned to Great Qin to plan its next development.
