Infinite Mechanism originates from the operation of Primordial Chaos and can expand only by enduring its all-encompassing rhythm. Later-born cultivators learned to cultivate it by constructing a complete principle-bearing structure from three components: Infinite Mechanism traces as the skeleton, a Great Dao as flesh and blood, and fundamental consciousness as the brain 2671.

It exists both as a power attained by cultivators and as an artifact-grade force contained in Infinite Mechanism items. Such items are described as transcending conventional ranks, with unknown origins beyond the universe's primordial chaos 1882.

Infinite Mechanisms elevate a cultivator's Great Dao into a higher-order principle structure. Unlike ordinary Dao arts, which consume traces permanently, a completed structure can employ its traces directly in battle 2399.

• Infinite Mechanism power can perform effects normally considered impossible, including tracing karmic destinies through the Heavenly Secrets Karma Fate River 2314.
• Individual mechanisms do not necessarily have a relationship of mutual generation or restraint; opposing mechanisms may instead enter a stalemate 2401.
• A kingdom's grand formation can serve as an external amplifier, raising an Infinite Mechanism wielder's effective strength by several times or more 2402.
• An ordinary formation without an Infinite Mechanism remains qualitatively inferior and can be shattered by an Infinite Mechanism powerhouse 2402.

Networks

Once an Infinite Mechanism spreads, it can form a network across vast regions. A completed network cannot be severed by ordinary means; even a Supreme Mechanism can only suppress it or render it inert 2578.

Incomplete Infinite Mechanisms

An incomplete Infinite Mechanism can result when an Infinite Mechanism contracts into a Dao Fruit during a Supreme Cataclysm and the Dao Fruit is damaged. It remains extraordinarily difficult to destroy, but missing principles create gaps through which external Great Dao power can infiltrate and obstruct its operation 2529.

• Incomplete mechanisms are still considered indestructible in a direct sense; opponents must exploit their flawed principles rather than simply overpower them 2529.
• Their power can be suppressed when Great Dao force enters through those flaws and disrupts their internal principles 2529.
• Completing an incomplete mechanism's theoretical structure allows its principles to cycle properly and restores power close to that of a complete mechanism 2534.
