Li Jianxing was the nominal number-one prodigy of the Eastern Continent and ranked tenth on the Strongest Prodigies Ranking. Seeking admission to the Myriad Law Immortal Sect, he challenged Jun Wangyou because the sect considered his ranking controversial and required him to defeat Jun honorably to qualify. He was aware that Jun had broken through the Eternal Extreme Realm and knew that such cultivators were considered invincible among peers, but refused to accept that he was inferior without testing himself. 36 37 39

Before the duel, Li Jianxing's ancestor gave him the Hundred Star Sect's treasured Silver Moon Star Disk for use in a critical moment. Li Jianxing initially refused, recognizing the burden that the artifact represented for his relatively young sect, but ultimately accepted it and vowed to win. 39

Li Jianxing issued a public challenge in which the loser would cripple their cultivation, kowtow three times, and call themselves trash three times. 36 During the duel, Jun Wangyou let him attack first, then shattered Li Jianxing's strongest sword strike with a finger flick. Li Jianxing attempted to cripple his own dantian after conceding, but Jun stopped him and substituted three conditions: one million Spirit Stones, one hundred years of service, and an unspecified future condition. 40

Subordination and Apprenticeship

Li Jianxing fulfilled the three-day agreement and delivered the Spirit Stones at Lingtian Peak. There, he was overwhelmed by Jun Wangyou's resources and accepted his position as Jun's subordinate. 41 Master Pagoda subsequently brought him to the Primordial Prison Pagoda, where Drunken Immortal accepted him as a disciple due to Jun Wangyou's identity. 41 42
